As a Native American, I was once asked,” Why did you go to war, when it wasn’t required of you?” I answered, “we love the flag, and we once lost this country but,we will be dammed if we will let it happen again.”

The Founding Fathers were very much vocal about it and why saying religion would tear us apart. They where right and it’s doing it know. Jefferson, Washington, Adams, and Franklin atheist they didn’t practice any religion but open minded to all. US Army Vet here. Every time I hear that song, I get so emotional. That song and our flag mean so much to so many Americans because we know what the cost was and how many men and women died to protect our flag and way of life! It makes me so angry when this new generation of Americans disrespect our flag by standing on it, burning it or when they kneel at the National Anthem all in protest for some ridiculous reason. To those people who disrespect my flag or song: you can protest the government but leave the flag alone and you better show respect to this song by standing with your right hand over your heart! Otherwise I’ll put a boot in your ass and help you pack your bags so you can get the hell out of this beautiful country! Do not disrespect my flag! EVER!

I’m glad they understand what our National Anthem is. I’m a USARMY Veteran Combat Medic/Trauma RNMSN. Two uncles were in the Pacific campaign in WW2. One was
on the USS Lexington for 5years! My other uncle joined the USA Marine Corps. He fought in the worst battles against the Japanese. My father was on the other side of the world as a USARMY Soldier in the Battle of The Bulge to Paris. 2 dozen uncles and aunts served in WW2. They Never talked about it. I was so touched how the father said Americans fought the Japanese and how they’d be speaking Japanese if our brave boys hadn’t defeated the Japanese. He said Australians too re speaking Japanese. Now they understand why I stop and salute our flag and try to Never allow it to touch the ground! Sorry for the running sentences. That video truly touched my heart. Thank you. I Love Kiwis and Aussies. Great people and beautiful countries. My uncle who was a Marine was in Australia before going to fight the Japanese. He looked 14 years old. The Australians embraced him as they knew each USA Marine might be killed. I’ll Never forget that just as the Belgians in Antwerp embraced my father after the war. He volunteered to help them until late 1946 and returned to college. They were starving yet offered my dad some of their broth. That’s the only thing he told me. That’s why I love Australians and New Zealand.

And my cousin joined the Marines several years ago, and was fairly recently promoted to Lance Corporal. There are few things that can make my blood boil more than disrespecting our military (especially when people are disrespecting our fallen servicemen!) and our flag....because so many of our military personnel came home in a box just so that they could have the right to act in such an ungrateful and disgusting way. My grandfather also served in WWII, and while he never saw actual combat, he was about to be sent overseas to fight when the war finally came to an end (he then went on to become a very successful police officer, until cancer claimed him in his 60s back in 1996....about a decade before his own mother would pass away from Alzheimer's at the age of 100).
At times, I wish we could take those people and show them what their life would be like *without* the efforts and sacrifices of our military. And then see if they were still playing the same tune.

We may have learned that the battle took place and just forgot. I will never forget when I returned to the USA after being gone a year as a teenage exchange student. The 1st time I heard our National Anthem I cried like a baby. 🇺🇲

Yeah I bet, I was in my mother, and father’s birth country, which is Vietnam (south Vietnam) and I left for 1 year after I came home I returned and heard the national anthem. I cried like I never cried before, my emotions overwhelmed me and I never noticed how much I missed my country

"We will die on our feet, but never live on our knees...." I have never been so proud of my country and the values The American Flag stands for. We are very protective of the American Flag and what it represents to us, as Americans. We find it incredibly disrespectful to allow an American Flag to touch the ground. We have so much pride in their sacrifice for our independence and freedom.

It was a misquote from a totally different person in a totally different country. The narrator is full of made up garbage. It’s overly sensationalized and a smear of the true history.

That line was uttered during the Spanish Civil War, not the American Revolution. Unfortunately, the video was mostly untrue. It's a shame because the real story of our national anthem is beautiful as it is.

Correct me if I am mistaken, but the Spanish civil war still had Americans fighting on behalf of it. If I am mistaken, I would gladly recant that statement... However on another note; I continue to ultimately maintain with "American pride" , that "in general" The American People revere what our flag stands for ... "Honoring it" doesn't come close to what we feel so deeply within our hearts. Generations of ultimate sacrifice goes into each and every one our families within these United States. Primarily "Our Freedom as a people". We as a country, we have fought and died for it.... Remembering both past and present tense in that tremendous heartbreak. We are extremely proud of our freedom... We are humbled at the ultimate sacrifice... We honor our Constitution...(and) We revere those many Americans who ultimately sacrificed their lives to ensure that it stands no matter what! What more can possibly be said than that? Anything? If it (the above story) be correct or incorrect in historical accuracy, the "story" of the American Flag that is; I fully believe that nothing can be stronger than the family values and constitutional values we hold firmly planted in our American hearts. But above all; the love and dedication to "Our America" that ensures that it stays that way. Please, don't be fooled or so easily misled by network media and/or socially political agendas. See and judge for yourself... Visit America... In one day You will fully understand what it is that I speak of. It lives deep within our hearts as a people, that you can be sure of. Thank you.
