Recipe for Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
115g unsalted butter
80g white sugar
80g brown sugar
2 tbsp instant coffee powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
185g AP flour
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp kosher salt
pinch flaky salt for garnish
100g chocolate ( leave large chunks for garnish)
Making brown butter
1. In a small pot, melt the butter on medium-low heat.
2. Swirl the butter until there isn't a fizzing sound and golden-brown.
3. Take off heat once golden brown as the butter will continue to brown.
4. Cool until room temperature.
Wet Batter:
Mix room temperature brown butter, sugar, coffee powder, egg, vanilla extract.
Dry Batter:
Mix AP flour, salt, baking soda.
Add Wet Batter to dry batter. Mix until no dry spots remain. Add the chocolate into the batter.
Chill covered in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 180C
Using a #20 ice cream scooper, portion the cookies onto a parchment-lined baking tray. This dough will yield around 6 cookies.
Bake the cookies at 180C for 13 minutes.
Place the tray on a wired rack and let cool for 10 minutes. Enjoy!

Teared up at the ending… As a Korean who hasn’t followed traditional Korean activities with my family in a long time, I feel like it would be sooo awkward bowing in front of my parents. But, I love that you and your parents still follow these traditions, including making 떡국.

I LOVE learning about traditional Korean foods from this channel. As someone who loves food, it is so interesting to learn new info about a dish I have already heard of or a completely new dish that I may have never known existed. I feel like a travel buddy with these vlogs, sans the delicious food

It’s been roughly half a year since I moved out of my parents house to live with my husband in our own place. I’m so happy to be able to live independently, but I also can’t help but be homesick from time to time. Living away from home really makes me appreciate a lot of things about my family. I’m always so excited whenever I get to visit home, spending my time with my parents and brothers, and my baby cats that I had to leave 🥺 To me this video is so relatable on so many levels.
😭😭 My eyes broke right at the end....The way your dad wished you good outcomes in 2022. That was so bEaUtIfUL!!!!!!!! I have never had someone say anything besides Happy New Year, so I want to do that for myself and for sure start this tradition with my kids.
Also, I have only seen it as something to avoid doing: being away from your children for long periods of time. In divorce, for example, it's like the parent who has the children the majority of the time is the one in the better position. Sending your kids to a different country when they have access to what they need in your home country seems odd, but I can see it now as something to embrace and take advantage of. Not sure if this happens more often or at the same rate with children born in America, but immersion in a different culture has to be a good thing.
I'm so happy that the UA-cam alg suggested one of your videos. A lot of vlogs from Seoul are great but I particularly can relate more to you. It's been a stressful couple of months and I'm glad for the growth but it's scary and hard times. Your videos make my day a little lighter. Thank you.

Just discovered your channel recently (I mean yesterday) and you know... the more I watched your videos that was a mix of cooking and daily life tips, it honestly felt like a slap on my face... but in a good way... cause I'm suffering from my parents lack of understanding of me... you know when they can't accept the way you wanna live your life and you're afraid of standing up against them because you don't want your relationship with them soar... but watching your videos, even tho I'm so lazy when it comes to cooking, has made me rethink about my current situation and encouraged me to actually move my ass and try to solve the problem somehow rather than just being anxious about it...
