Yes. According to Wikipedia, Melinda Lou "Wendy" Thomas-Morse is a daughter of American businessman Dave Thomas, the founder of the fast food brand Wendy's.

No kidding. They all had some pre-conceived notions about Chick-Fil-A (which are more than likely not based on any actual facts, especially when such notions cross the pond), and simply hated it because of bias. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Chick-Fil-A, but that's because I don't care for the chicken and I think it's overpriced. Wendy is Dave Thomas daughter, and she's still very much alive. She is in her 50s now,and I believe she's the head of Wendy's corporation, since her father Dave Thomas was the founder.
Not 100% accurate, I think. Dave sold Wendy's long long ago, I believe. Even before the commercials with him he had given up the leadership, at the very least. He was just a spokesperson, which is why his title in them was "Founder", not "CEO" or "President". His daughter was also later a spokesperson too, but I don't think she was ever a company officer, just a mouthpiece. I do think the family retained ownership of some stores though, if not the overarching corporation. I believe she DOES run those, and THAT company is fairly substantial all on its own. So she did speak from some authority beyond just having the company named after her.
If it’s not spicy chicken then you’re just wasting time and a poor chicken that could have tasted delicious. And you should have tried Hardee’s and Zaxby’s chicken sandwiches

Pickles are a pretty common "southern" chicken sandwich accoutrement in the U.S.A. I like mine with pickles, but if not pickles, then I need some yellow mustard. The acidity goes well with a spicy or regular chicken sandwich. You're going to be mad, but.. they have them for breakfast sometimes.
7:00 "I took those pickles out...I can still taste the pickles." That's because Chick-fil-A's "big fancy secret" is that they brine the chicken in pickle juice and use pickle juice instead of water to make the batter.

Fair warning to our Irish cousins: choosing a KFC sandwich over a Chick-fil-A or Popeyes sandwich is committing sacrilege in parts of the U.S. Just be careful where you speak of this episode lol
American here. Choosing anything over Chick-fil-A is a cardinal sin when it comes to a fast food chicken sandwich. I will also say that NOBODY here gets them with lettuce and tomato. It's all about the original. Butter toasted bun, chicken and a couple pickle slices. It works
Couple things, restaurants in US, especially chains, really only have one or two things they specialize in, that makes them unique. Wendys, baconators, new breakfast varieties Whataburger, the patty melt, honey butter chicken biscuit Chik-fil-a: the variety of sauces. The chicken is a vehicle for said sauces. Also waffle fries. Salads are actually good too Arbys: curly fries and ROAST BEEF SANDWICH. Anything else is legit heresy Taco Bell: the gordita crunch things and baja blasts Del Taco: my opinion the value menu GOAT Little Caesars: $5-6 whole pizzas McDonalds: the consistency, as well as the low prices for most items. To reiterate the point, you do not go to a mattress store looking for lightbulbs.
Wendy's - frosty WhatABurger - chicken tenders with gravy Chik-fil-A - waffle fries Arbys - Jamocha shakes Taco Bell - 7 layer burrito Del Taco - I don't think we have those Little Caesars - it's been too long, don't remember McDonalds - filet of fish and you didn't include them, but Popeye's - red beans & rice
pickles are put in chicken sandwiches because most chicken sandwiches are made with a fried breading that has herbs and spices in it. The vinegar (or other pickling liquids like salt water) help pull those spices out more for taste and flavor. its a culinary thing.
I love this channel because sometimes I wish I could rewind time and try something amazing for the very first time. Until I'm old enough to have dementia, I find joy in watching other people have that experience.
The reason you can still taste pickle is because Chick-fil-A marinates the meat in pickle juice; the vinegar tenderizes and the salt water keeps it juicy.
We do NOT use the pickle juice to bread the chicken. It’s just the pickles are kept fresh in their pickle juice and like tomato juices, it soaks into the bread. That’s why you taste it after you remove pickles. I always order mine “no pickle”
veronica carlson we receive the chicken relatively fresh and whole with some of the spices already applied. We then dip it in a milk wash and hand bread each filet. Then they are cooked in a pressure cooker instead of openly fried. It’s because they are actually whole breasts with virtually no processing and prepared in restaurant and pressure cooked that they are so juicy. It’s a very labor intensive process. It’s not like competitors where everything is ground up leftover chicken bits molded into heart shape to look like breast and machine breaded and simply dumped into a fryer by an team member.
Let me add they are flash frozen once they are first seasoned and we do get them frozen. But they are fresh, slippery once we thaw them and begin the process I mentioned above.
With this Covid-19 business going on, Chick-fi-A is the only restaurant in my area with drive thru lines going around their whole property. They are kicking it. Only time there isn't a line is on Sundays.

Adding to this, her name is actually Melinda but she had trouble saying it as a kid and her mispronunciation morphed into her nickname, Wendy
I believe she DOES run those, and THAT company is fairly substantial all on its own. no one denies that chik-fil-a is delicious as fuck. its just that they are a shitty, bigoted company that shouldn't be supported
Jon B. Cause they don’t support the gays lol
Saying chick fila doesn’t support gays is silly. The only thing they said is that they support traditional marriage. That is not bigoted. They didn’t say they don’t like lgbtq people. They didn’t say the wouldn’t hire them, serve them, befriend them, live then even. They stated their beliefs. Beliefs they have every right to have. So sick of this old stale un true theory pushed by the media. Don’t let the media brainwash you. They have an agenda.

Popeye's and Chick-Fil-A are the two best "chain" chix sandwiches. As for Arby's, KFC's and BK (not represented here), they fall waaaaaaaaaaaay behind.
Popeyes is A tier. Chik-Fil-A not far beyond, but Burger Kings got the best

KFC is not bad at all. Burger King is actually stepping up their game with their new chicken sandwich, the Cha'ching. I always try new chicken sandwiches when I can get my hands on them. Arby's? WTF is that? Haven't been there in over a decade.
The BK Ch'King is no slack. It's a solid contender
“Pickles are usually in a meat burger, not often a chicken burger” I guess chicken isn’t considered meat anymore 😂
@@LisaMT1218 that’s not how it works at all
'Meat' comes from a four-footed animal (usually a mammal); 'fowl' is a bird - chicken, goose, turkey, duck, etc.; 'fish' is (usually) whatever breathes under water. Personally, I've always wondered how cetaceans are classified. They're mammals, & would normally be considered as 'meat', like all other mammals ... but - I've heard that their diet of mostly fish gives them a slightly fishy flavor.
@@ephennell4ever Do you enjoy being massively incorrect? Just stop. You're making yourself look foolish. The flesh of any animal used for food is literally meat. Mammals, fouls, fish? They're all animals, and therefore all meat when they're eaten. You would think having access to the internet and a world of knowledge would make people more intelligent, but I swear it's making people less so.
How was Lolsy commenting on KFC's herbs & spices when she took the chicken off and replaced it with whatever the hell kind of bootleg vegetarian bologna she was using? I'm not the biggest KFC fan, but she didn't even eat it, she just ate the bun, lettuce and pickles.
why would you bring someone who wont eat meat to compare meat sandwiches... lets compare lettuce and pickle sandwiches??
I've been out of the US for three years and this legit made me cry for Chick-fil-A and Popeyes chicken.

Judging Wendy's so harshly, when any burger that's sitting for probably half an hour waiting for you to eat five other burgers is gonna go cold and gross
Even then their lettuce is legit paper, I doubt the verdict would've been different on that one. Your statement is valid, however, for the other *sandwiches* cause even that first one was probably sitting for around 20 minutes or so before they were set up and ready to eat.
