Paul Robeson pronounced his name with the E silent! I know it isn’t a big deal, but as a person, he was enormous and deserves for his name to be said correctly!

The cracking would drive Rene batty. Sure looks like a nice mater. Very reason why we love ya's buddy! We can see some cool breeds being grown each year. Thanks for the info! Stay safe my friends!

Thanks tons! That cracking made me(UT) a bit crazy as well. I have seen them crack alot for others too. They have a really good flavor though and Angel says its a keeper for sauce making. It is a parent of the Dwarf Tasmanian Chocolate too and I would argue that one is a strong replacement for the flavor and more stable tomatoes. Too much fun seeing so much unique. :)

I’m very familiar with the late Paul Robeson. I recently learned of this tomato named after him. Thank you very much for such detailed information. I would like to trade you a few seeds. I really would love to grow this tomato and share it with my grandchildren. 👍🏾♥️

Thanks a bunch! A great tomato and person. Will definitely send some seeds your way. Our shares don't normally start going out until November but if you need or want them earlier just let us know and we will get them out sooner. :)

My Paul Robeson tomatos are not big, they are kind of small.
You described the taste very well.
That's how I have described them and it is my first time growing Paul Robeson this year.

Thanks a bunch! A great type of tomato for sure. Glad to hear somebody else grow them and have a good experience. These would make a great smoky tomato sauce. :)

Another great review! I love tomatoes and really struggle to get decent crops here. I’m glad you and Angel still have tomatoes to harvest though.

Thanks tons! A great tomato to see. Aug. & Sept. are our 2 best months. Sometimes we will fight into October against the sudden cold but usually do a slow teardown. Can be a huge struggle with our tomatoes as well at times but having a great year this grow. Must be rough living somewhere tomatoes have a hard time growing. With all the awesome peppers you grow the tomatoes would be a good thing to have handy. :)

I grew this tomato this year for the first time as well....tons of cracking, but a pretty tasty tomato (coming from a person that doesn't like tomatoes much).

Thanks a bunch! A great flavor on this one for sure. The cracking can get a bit out of hand but such a great taste it is forgivable. Our hopes are spaghetti sauce or a soup if we get enough at once. :)

Paul Robeson is a must grow for us, but I find that the tomatoes aren't consistent. You'll eat one after another after another and they'll be good, but not WOW, then randomly one will taste amazing off the same plant as the other ones that were just the usual tasty LOL

Thanks tons! A great type for sure and will have so much trouble next season growing so many types with another like this one crowding in for a spot. Can see the inconsistency over here too now. Had a couple more since this and the very best one so far is another counter ripened one. We pulled one a week or two prior and Angel tried it. Said it was the best flavored one and the meat consistency was better. And this after at least a week on the counter top. A really good and unique type. :)

@@UT33200 Yes, last year we grabbed a lot of green tomatoes as first frost was coming, and in the first week of November we had several Paul Robeson's that has ripened inside that were pretty much perfect, Cherokee purple too for that matter.

Hello the tomato in this video looks to me alot like the Thorburn's Terra-Cotta 🍅 tomatoe instead of the Paul Robeson 🍅 tomatoe.. The red green interior is a dead giveaway. The Paul Robeson 🍅 tomatoe has more of an red brick color interior. It's just my observation I'm not 100% certain.

Thanks a bunch! I can see its similarities but pretty sure this one is the Paul Robeson still. Let me admit first that our grows are never optimal so might not be the best version or show of it. I say this because we have never had the seeds for or grown the Terra-Cotta. It is on our list of one we want to try but haven't yet. This PR though we grew from Baker Creek seeds. I do see how the two could look similar though. I am thinking ours had a bit more green as it was end of season on them and they had seemed to speed ripen when we showed them. Like some parts were redding quickly while other less sun exposed were still a bit green. :)
