The dumplings doubled in size. Lucky you made them smaller, it worked out well. I have added the larger cook set & camping plates to my Trekker. Only small hassle I've had is ash build up on a longer cook with bigger pot on a small firebase. It's worth the hassle for a bigger pot though. Another good recipe. Thanks for sharing.
Hi. Thanks for checking out this video. Those dumplings worked way better than expected and made it quite filling. The Kelly Kettle is a lot of fun to cook on isn’t it 😊
Thanks for the video, I ordered the trekker kit, I love to cook and nice seeing this system in use, mine is smaller but I know I'm going to enjoy cooking with it. Dumplings are an awesome idea, I'll be trying that for sure, it looks good sir.
Hi MrMann. Thanks for checking out my video. And congratulations on getting yourself a Trekker! Hope you have as much using the kit as I do. FYI. I should have had the lid on when cooking the dumplings so that they steam at the same some. Thanks again. Hope you enjoy my other videos too. Cheers. Neil
Thank you for watching one of my videos. I’ve actually found out since (from my mum 😂) you are meant to have the lid on when cooking dumplings so they cook in the steam. Still turned out very tasty though. Thanks again. Hope you enjoy the other videos on my channel too.
Hi Jean. Thank for checking out my video. Hope you enjoyed the other ones too on my channel. Must admit I haven’t had chance to put out a new video lately but I’m hoping to get out again soon. Watch this space…
That looks bloody amazing, thanks for sharing. Can I ask, where did you get the sausage? Kelly kettle looks like a good piece of kit also. More recipes please. 🤠
I’ve made it a few times since then! I now cook the dumplings with the lid on though as they seem to cook better that way. The sausage (chorizo) can be found in most supermarkets. If I remember correctly I got that one in Tesco. Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy my other videos too. Cheers. Neil
You said 25min or so too cook the dumplings, made me wonder with a long cook like that have you had any issues with the burn pot filling up with ash? Can’t wait to get my kettle and start playing with it and learning.
After speaking to my mum (my biggest fan), I should have had a lid on to steam the dumplings. They did cook ok but would have cooked quicker with the lid on. On the subject of ash, I have experienced an ash build up, not to the level that’s it’s been a problem but I have wondered if it would be worth fashioning some sort of grate to keep the airflow. You’re right though, just got to have a play and see what happens, that’s half the fun! Thanks for watching! Cheers. Neil
@@parkitpitchitmooritI was wondering about ash too. I’m used to my firebox nano which lets ash fall through (onto the metal tray beneath) but I’m infatuated with Kelly and ghillie kettles so I’m considering getting one
That’s a very nice gift. I’m sure you’ll have lots a fun using it! My Opinel is a number 12 carbon, it’s about 30 years old now but still going strong! 👍🏻
If I have plenty of water I wash then, like if I was near a river. Most of the time though I carry it all dirty and wash up back at the van. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
🏕🔥😎👍, glad I found you, quality sells itself- subscribed after watching the first 5 mins! Everyone who’s getting a Kelly needs to buy the whole kit to get the most out of it. Good content 😎👍
Hi Billy. That’s awesome, thank you! 😊I’ve often heard the KK criticised for being too bulky, but with the whole kit, when you consider what’s in it and how it stacks I think it’s pretty awesome.

Where did you get the stand for the Kelly Kettle base? This looks very tasty.
The stand comes with the ultimate kit. Brilliant addition as it protects the floor nicely. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻

I was given such a set, with your help I will master it. )) Thanks for the video!

How to you keep your gear clean? Do you wash in the field or just pack it up and do it at home?
