Gilchrist not being in the top tier is a crime. He is the greatest keeper-batsman of all time with little argument. And I don't think keepers like Dhoni would've played a match for India with Gilchrist showing the importance of a keeper who could bat like a top order batsman. And Ian Botham is top tier too.
Michael Atherton is "Good" yet Ravi Shastri is "Overrated". Ravi Shastri's all-round ability (Almost 300 wickets for India in ODI & tests) put him at par with Atherton.
@rishikamath6718 To be fair -- complete objectivity is very difficult in these rankings. Age (not physically watching some guys perform), personal preference and personal bias are all factors that come into play. We appreciate the different perspectives though!
In future tier lists we'll be sure to split up the categories so that there's better differentiation of the decents from the goods and goods from the greats.
In what planet are Russell Arnold and Michael Clarke in the same category? Averages: Michael Clarke: Tests: 115 matches @ 49.10 (28 hundreds), ODI: 245 matches @ 44.58 (8 hundreds) Russell Arnold: Tests: 44 matches @ 28.01 (3 hundreds), ODI: 180 matches @ 35.26 (1 hundred) Not even on the same planet.
@@BoiMaam okay, fair enough... I shouldn't have commented mid video😂 Still a good video, these things are supposed to provoke discussion and it's okay to debate/disagree (although it seems like we agree now).
@kiriakoz spot on! Precisely why we switched up our content format as well. There's lots of toxicity amongst cricket fans nowadays. We're all of the opinion that a friendly discussion, banter and even a well-mannered argument can only help us start to appreciate some of the nuances of the great game! So thanks for the comment🍻
@@BoiMaam apologies if I came across as one myself, I was just making my point passionately, all opinions welcome, even though I put averages myself, i still believe somewhat on the eye test too. Some players threw away their wicket during easy games but would knuckle down during difficult moments, likes Stokes does for Ashes tests for example.
I was outnumbered with the Clarky and Sunny decisions😂 Will probably include more categories in the next one, as we noted there probably needs to be a great category between good and world class
@gingerwoods616 But then good/ decent/ average would all mean the same thing -- in my mind at least. Overated doesn't necessarily mean not good or not a decent cricketer. Just means we feel the amount that they're hyped up doesn't match their actual ability/ performances.
Three Shots And A Dot now has it's own channel - new episodes will be posted there!
As a West Indies fan and a person that was born in guyana, this commentator list is perfect 👌

I can agree with this one in hindsight, Gilly should be in the top tier!
Come on son, how is Ian Botham not in the GOAT category? He was part of the Original Fab 4 with Kapil, Imran & Hadlee.
And you put Michael Clarke below Ian Bishop? Michael Clarke is a World Cup winning captain and from 2011-13 was the best test batsman in the world.
Gavaskar just "good"? First man to 10k runs and batted without a helmet against the fearsome West Indies of the 1970s.

This is largely a good effort by you guys BUT the inconsistencies are disappointing.

1) Warne 2) Ponting 3) Akram 4) Gilchrist 5) Pietersen 6) Younis 6) Pollock 7) Gavaskar 8) Holding 9) Hayden 10) Bishop
11) Clarke 12) Lee 13) Philander 14) Vaughan 15) Doull....the rest, were various grades of average..
Vern is an egg head! We need role models for the next generation -- humility and good enunciation are important!

Any ideas for the next list?

Not even on the same planet.
But they aren't in the same category, I kicked Russel back to club cricket at the end in the final changes section😂

Who's that guy saying Russell Arnold is overrated? 😂 I don't think he watched him play. He was underrated and a man of crisis.
@@wapangjamir917 happy for you to cite your reasons as to why you think he was underrated?
Seriously 😒
Which of the rankings are you most unhappy about?
To the Sunny G and Clarke fans...
I Tried😂😢
Oh no this list is nonsensical...
Isa guha and Ian Smith are the best
Pretty average cricketers to be honest. Ian Smith had to even supplement himself with some rugby commentary -- can't be that great😅
Weird that no one mentioned Kumar Sangakarra🫣
As Commentators they're perfectly fine. As cricketers... not so sure
Not sure what when astray, we'll have to include Sanga that absolute Legend in a future Tier list
Seriously? Isa Guha? Tells a lot about you
Replace overrated with decent. Putting Ganguly in the world class category and Clarke and Sunny not is a mystery.
Who do you think is overrated?
