Appreciate the support! I see the game very similarly to you. A lot of the joy comes with the challenge of needing to make tactical decisions game by game. Don't see a point in just using a plug and play tactic that just wins me everything.

Btw what fm skin are you using? I liked that it had both attributes and a pizza chart in the Bottom right corner.

I haven't solely relied on opposition manager style in the past because what I've found is they don't always follow it completely. In the case of Gillingham, Joe Edwards actually has a "tiki-taka" tactical style. This would tell me a lot about the tempo and length of passes but little about the width and even still, I'm not actually sure that they play a traditional tiki-taka. Furthermore, if you recall how they press and engage, they don't actually seem like they press in a "tiki-taka" manner, it's a lot more passive.

@@BoiMaam Also, teams dont always play the way your scouts predict them to. sometimes they completely change tactics and try to surprise you. i know ive played a team that my scouts said was a route 1 team but then they ended up playing tiki taka on me

Learned this the hard way in the past 😂 I think for most games, you can get away with it if you've developed a solid enough primary tactic but every now and then, you have to make extra sure that you're going to win the tactical battle.

4th Generation South African, been all over India a few times so far, including Vizag where my paternal roots are.

There won't be any beta testing this time around so unfortunately we're probably going to see some mad bugs early on, nonetheless, hopefully everything is ironed out pretty soon after release so we can crack on without much issue.

Some say you should never ask a woman her age either👀. I wonder how many researchers were given the silent treatment! It's probably what caused the delay in release.

And you put Michael Clarke below Ian Bishop? Michael Clarke is a World Cup winning captain and from 2011-13 was the best test batsman in the world.

Gavaskar just "good"? First man to 10k runs and batted without a helmet against the fearsome West Indies of the 1970s.

Michael Atherton is "Good" yet Ravi Shastri is "Overrated". Ravi Shastri's all-round ability (Almost 300 wickets for India in ODI & tests) put him at par with Atherton.

This is largely a good effort by you guys BUT the inconsistencies are disappointing.

​@rishikamath6718 To be fair -- complete objectivity is very difficult in these rankings. Age (not physically watching some guys perform), personal preference and personal bias are all factors that come into play. We appreciate the different perspectives though!

I can agree with this one in hindsight, Gilly should be in the top tier!

@kiriakoz spot on! Precisely why we switched up our content format as well. There's lots of toxicity amongst cricket fans nowadays. We're all of the opinion that a friendly discussion, banter and even a well-mannered argument can only help us start to appreciate some of the nuances of the great game! So thanks for the comment🍻

@@BoiMaam apologies if I came across as one myself, I was just making my point passionately, all opinions welcome, even though I put averages myself, i still believe somewhat on the eye test too. Some players threw away their wicket during easy games but would knuckle down during difficult moments, likes Stokes does for Ashes tests for example.

Who do you think is overrated?

I was outnumbered with the Clarky and Sunny decisions😂 Will probably include more categories in the next one, as we noted there probably needs to be a great category between good and world class

​@gingerwoods616 But then good/ decent/ average would all mean the same thing -- in my mind at least. Overated doesn't necessarily mean not good or not a decent cricketer. Just means we feel the amount that they're hyped up doesn't match their actual ability/ performances.

Which of the rankings are you most unhappy about?

Vern is an egg head! We need role models for the next generation -- humility and good enunciation are important!

In future tier lists we'll be sure to split up the categories so that there's better differentiation of the decents from the goods and goods from the greats.

Pretty average cricketers to be honest. Ian Smith had to even supplement himself with some rugby commentary -- can't be that great😅

As we predicted on Three shots and a Dot! Windies too strong for that inexperienced SA squad.

What a comeback!

I honestly think the Windies have a much better squad going into this series but as a Proteas fan, I'm still hopeful that we'll play some decent cricket. Best thing for us will be to see some of the fringe players put their hands up for selection going forward.

I think it may come earlier, judging by all the positives in the selection status recently

@Chillsaurus no need for anything else but I think you'll be best served by using it for a bit and seeing if it actually makes life easier. I personally like the custom panels on most screens so I can choose to easily access whatever I usually look for. It also has some neat views, including SYC views, which are handy for build a nation saves and FM stag views with some neat analytics. Check out Second Yellow Cards video on the "best fm skin" he's a top-notch fm creator who contributed to the skin. You can find it on Sortioutsi, FMinside and FMscout amongst other places.

@@BoiMaam I got it yesterday and it works fine. still getting used to it, but its ok... the way you have yours set up seems cleaner... mine still feels kind of cluttered so i have to tweek it around... i m trying to replace my HOYD but none of the best ones wanna get our of their current contract yet T_T

@@Chillsaurus I would suggest getting the best one you can on a short term contract ( maybe just for the season) then dump him when you can upgrade. If there isn't much difference between a new HoYD that you can get and your current one, rather just see it out for abit until a decent one becomes available. The existing HoYD should be agreeable to mutually terminate his contract for free or cheap if its the one you started up with.
