BIG nope. I have used it after my personal listing. And ask a few on my buyers what they actually think…They HATE it. One repeat buyer said . “Like we’re that stupid not to notice it’s AI. If a seller can’t take time to write a description. I move on.”

As a seller, I might use only one or two sentences from the AI. The AI descriptions start to sound the same after a while. Now I can always tell when another seller uses AI. If the seller only uses the AI text, that's an immediate turn off for me as a buyer. It makes me feel like the seller didn't even look at the item. I don't know if your average buyer can tell the difference yet. Personally, I just want the facts. AI adds way too much filler and fluff.

I have never done descriptions using any kind of "warm and fuzzy" terms. I just try to state the facts about my item. I don't write sales pitches or ads for my items, which is what I observe AI to be doing. Maybe I'm wrong and I should be doing that. I'm just a very small hobby seller. I don’t know, but the fluffy stuff goes against my grain.

I can always tell when someone has used AI. It’s always saying the same things.. Elevate your look with .. Perfect for the woman who.. This can be worn at.. So much extra garbage. Plus if I have to read it for accuracy and then correct it, how is that saving me time? No thanks, I’ll write my own descriptions.

I use the AI on List Perfectly because I draft all of my listings there, then share to eBay and several other selling platforms. List Perfectly's AI creates a bullet point section. I always check, edit, remove and add information as necessary so it looks like an actual human is at the wheel. It saves me a lot of time, and often brings up ideas that had not occurred to me. AI generated listings all have a sameness to them. Does it matter? I think many buyers don't even bother to read descriptions. I can't tell if it helps my sales as there are other recent happenings that are affecting my sales more (listing again after a hiatus of several months, and regaining Top Seller status after several months in Above Standard). Good point about making it easy to read.

I don't feel like it matters. Most do not read whatever is in the description. They see title, first couple of pics and either buy or not buy or send questions that are listed in the description

I don't care for it. A bunch of useless detail that no one will read.

Too much puffing about your item. I really detest having the description run across the screen and having to scroll back and forth. Very hard to read. Previously EBAY told us to list like the “professional stores” , list either in a row or with bullet points and be brief and concise. I will NOT use this nonsense.

We love selling on eBay, however the AI there just needs a little something more. As for me, it lumped everything into one paragraph. I also depend on a clean layout and bullet points. Maybe like some AI programs, it might need to learn our patterns.

I have tried it and have the same results you have spoken about. I then decide if that is what I want it to say, then add or delete what I don't want. If I don't like it i just do my regular listings. I have not seen any sales results from using it. I have used it now for a week maybe it will help....I hope it does because my sales have been so slow right now.

I haven’t started selling yet (shipping is freaking me out) but I feel like the AI is lengthy. The first sentence is good but I like bullet points better due to easy to read, quick and to the point.

I have not used any AI. I keep looking for reasons to use it but seem to have no need. 🤷🏽‍♀️ not giving up just cant find anything to use it for yet.

I like it, but I find people don't always read the description anyway. I get people size and weight even with it in the description.

I like it, but I do change it and delete some of it so it is not too long. I found it works better if you have a good title and put specifications in first. Sometimes I think it's a lot of fill in words, but sometimes it gives me a start. Overall I like and use it, but I definitely change it. It also depends on the item you are listening. Sometimes it is funny and entertaining what it comes up with to say about your item.

Hi Margaret,I list a lot of physical media and have used A.I. occasionally to fill in the boring details.Like who stars in the movie and what year it was released.I didn't see an increase in sales so i no longer bother.

As a seller because I am constantly listing I know exactly what to expect from Ai, like others have mentioned it’s a bunch of useless mumbo-jumbo ….. so I often buy a lot on eBay and I never ever leave all of that because I know it’s AI

The AI function is very repetitive. You’ll find it says the same initial statement on three out of four listings it seems… It will say “elevate your game“ or elevate your style. I don’t think that the majority of folks shopping on eBay want to read these long paragraphs that are more sales-ish or marketing-based. I agree with you that just the basics probably all you need. I created a template with a table. That I just cut and paste and I’m experimenting with that. Just includes the item description in a word or two I plug some measurements in, review in a sentence my return policy my shipping policy. I’m giving this a try to see how it goes.

From a buyers perspective, I don’t like AI at all. It tells me this selller isn’t detail oriented about the specific item they are selling. Buying on Amazon with AI reviews is an awful experience

As a seller I have only used AI once and I didn't feel that it did a great job describing my item so I added the measurements, condition, etc. As a buyer or researcher I must admit that I LOATHE the AI descriptions, as most listings don't seem to add any additional useful info. I have had customers also tell me that they don't like them. So just another perspective.

I tried it and have about 10 listings with the AI description. I found it cumbersome to have to go in and edit as some of the text was inaccurate for my listing. None of my AI listings have sold and I am not now using it.

I don't sell very many clothing items, so I don't necessarily use AI for them. I do sell vintage and antique hard good items and have AI create the descriptions for those items. I do read it and the adjust it to better fit the item. It is still easier and faster than me having to come up with the description. Did you know that if you think the description by AI is too long you can click on it again and you will get a shorter description? Anyway, my sales on Ebay have stalled, and I don't think it is because of AI. I don't know what is going on, but I have noticed a slowdown in other selling platforms as well.

They changed the AI description. It was great. But now it’s not great when first came out. Now that eBay changed the AI algorithm to only include what you add to your product, no other added description like “ perfect as a gift etc. It doesn’t provide any other extra info. Boring.
