Prof. Ndebessa, the question you gave, you know the answer but you will hide behind our leaders have practiced hypocrisy. I do not know what you mean by saying giving such a vegue answer. The problem of Uganda since 1962 or before has been the political tribalism coming from Buganda region. Why do I say this? Before Uganda got her independence, Buganda as a kingdom was as before chose to fight for their freedom which they have all along termed it, "Federo or Federalism." This is why after failing to get two of the four lost counties, Buganda chose to fight the Uganda government headed by the UPC. Buganda Kingdom ordered the government of Uganda out of Buganda soil as of the 1964 referendum on the lost counties was an Obote making. Buganda failed to go to the constitutional court or the court to challenge what the late president Obote did in november 1964. It was Buganda Kingdom who started using Ibingira and the other four ministers to remove late Dr. Obote from the leadership of the UPC and Executive primeministership. It was the same Buganda Kingdom who colluded with the then Army commander Col. Opolot to do what they term "uncordinated troops movement." The late Kabaka Mutesa II wanted very much to see the back of Dr.Obote so that he could get his way on the lost counties. The land of Bunyoro he participated into grabbing by the guns with the help of the British colonialist. It was the same Buganda Kingdom that tried to use late Daudi Ochieng who was a KY to bring a nonsense allegation against Obote and Amin in parliament of Uganda so that the two are removed. Here I am speaking about the Gold Allegation which was total rubish. Congo which today is called Dr Congo never complained that they lost any natural resources the same way they did against the NRA/UPDF under the leadership of Museveni. I thank Joseph Ochieno for putting things the way it should be, not the usual lies and rumour mongering. Prof. You are a history teacher, I do not know what type of history you are teaching the children of Uganda. Lies, lies, lies and lies, right?
