@Isabelle Vasquez - Yet with humor and grace, plus being the pro that she is, she seamlessly changed keys herself almost without batting an eye - all while flipping Seth off in the process!
That was a great D-flat/C-sharp at the end. I didn't expect that at all. That's probably the highest note I've heard Audra sing in public and she rocked it!
She's just wonderful. Just enough of a diva to put you in awe but fun enough to make you want to invite her to supper. I love that she said "come on you theater queens" and flipped off the pianist when he surprised her with that key change toward the end. Audra, you're my hero!
AMazing voice and I love the fact that even though he raised the key towards the end she still upped the ante with the high note and hit it! OMG it's high!!!!!! SHe nailed it.
She is absolutely FANDAMNTASTIC!!!!! This is why you have so many Tony Awards. I'm singing this for an audition and I was looking around for this song on UA-cam. Seriously, the BEST!!!!
Seth: "Next Step" Audra: *Eyes * Seth: "YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT, I'M GOING UP" THE FINGER Seth: "GO FOR IT!" Audra shows us one of the many reasons she is 6 Time Tony Award Winning Actress Audra McDonald
Thanks for explaining about Seth's piano playing. Know I get why she was flipping him off. This whole thing is funny as hell. "ShUT UP! MY solo!" and they just keep singing! lol
Seth on piano constantly changing the key had me laughing so hard - I have a voice teacher who does the exact same thing to me whenever I sing this exact same song. I think the record for the highest she got the final note without me noticing was an E.
+Adam Efimoff She has done roles that were typically a white person's role. She won a Tony Award for her performance in Carousel, doing a role that is typically done by a white woman. Also, she recently did the Mother Superior part in a live TV production of The Sound of Music. That, of course, is a white person's part, since Mother Superiors in pre-war Austria were not black. For My Fair Lady, they could engage in color-blind casting, as they did with those other parts, and cast her as Eliza Doolittle, the Julie Andrews' part. I'm sure she would do a good job with it, since she did a good job with the other parts I mentioned. It's just a matter of whether you would be willing to accept the color-blind casting.
This is why she has ALL THOSE TONYS
The sheer betrayal on her face when the key changed 😂
@Isabelle Vasquez - Yet with humor and grace, plus being the pro that she is, she seamlessly changed keys herself almost without batting an eye - all while flipping Seth off in the process!
a woman so deeply comfortable and strong in her own being, she's a gift and inspiration and a role model for all of us
The fact she ended on that high D flat and it surprised her really made my night! Bravo to one of the Broadway Goddess's!
Was that in full chest voice too?
max mitchell no...
@@maxmitchell6150 Full head voice.
Amen bro
Sure, she is great. But her voice is much tooheavy andpowerful for this light soubretta song.
I love how she flips out and gives him the finger for changing the keys!!
Sings like an angel and has a terrific sense of humor. I love this woman.
7 haters just hating because they can't switch keys mid song impromptu and finish like a goddess!
That was a great D-flat/C-sharp at the end. I didn't expect that at all. That's probably the highest note I've heard Audra sing in public and she rocked it!
"All right everybody shut up...my solo"
LOL I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!
Spoken like a true thespian
I did **NOT** expect that high note at the end. WOW!
She sings opera too.
Audra has a fine voice. She is one of the best vocalist of this era.
Lol!!! Seth tells her to be sassy, so she gives him the middle finger and proceeds to hit an incredibly high D flat! YASSS, MY QUEEN!!! :-)
this tempo is insane.
Seth loves a good high note finish
She's just wonderful. Just enough of a diva to put you in awe but fun enough to make you want to invite her to supper. I love that she said "come on you theater queens" and flipped off the pianist when he surprised her with that key change toward the end. Audra, you're my hero!
Audra Mcdonald will forever be my queen! The high D flat made my life complete ♡♡♡
My voice teacher compared me to her this morning and I almost cried. She's so amazing and I love her so much. She's an idol.
AMazing voice and I love the fact that even though he raised the key towards the end she still upped the ante with the high note and hit it! OMG it's high!!!!!! SHe nailed it.
Audra is everything I want to be in life

She is absolutely FANDAMNTASTIC!!!!! This is why you have so many Tony Awards. I'm singing this for an audition and I was looking around for this song on UA-cam. Seriously, the BEST!!!!

The picture and sound quality is great. Also, how many people were in the audience, 40 or 50. This looks almost like a private concert.
Seth on piano constantly changing the key had me laughing so hard - I have a voice teacher who does the exact same thing to me whenever I sing this exact same song. I think the record for the highest she got the final note without me noticing was an E.

Why doesn't she sing opera with that voice? She sounds just like renee fleming.
+Ihdc1 She was Bess in a Porgy and Bess revival, which is close to opera.
Adam Efimoff My fair lady isn't opera. It's musical theater.
