Just surprised it took R-tech this long to send you a welder. They seem to give them to people in sheds who can barely turn them on let alone do welding so you should have been top of the list from day one!
Just found your channel, nice. I have started a channel with my grandchildren "welding with grandad" we are going ok mainly short films. But we are struggling with filming the arc. What do you use for the arc shots. BTW. Nice to see decent welds not stacking dimes crappie. Thanks again grandadwelder 😅
Him we call that walking the cup and wetting the toes of the weld, those bigger cups are great for the color if you have a longer cup with a narrow head you can stick your tungsten out even with no flex head.
Nice work, inspiring to see your skill and the quality of the results. Why do you purge with nitrogen, is that less expensive than argon? If I may gently suggest, a bit less camera bobbing about in some of the hand-held arc shots would make this easier to watch.
I've only used nitrogen so I can only speak for why we use it and it's less than half the price for nitrogen over argon and because it's not food grade I don't think argon is needed
Great vids following from the midlands refreshing to see people enjoying the trade and throwing their hands in all aspects of it

Cheers mate, nd it was filmed with a Samsung s23 ultra with no modifications, you can use a shade 9 welding glass over the camera also

Why a double layer weld on such a thin piece of pipe 😮
I'm self taught bud, so I just followed the experienced guys who did 2, usually I would have done 1 run
Normally 0.7 x thinnest material thickness = troath thickness

Nitrogen is less then half the price and them arc shots what the best I could do staying out his way and trying to keep moving around the flange 😅
interesting ,, another free machine , your doing well ............... why not reach out to Manfrotto and see if they will send you a tripod .
Yeah mate it's my lucky day, and I dont reach out cuz I don't want to owe anyone, this way I can be honest in my videos
whats the difference between argon and nitrogen as a purge? only asking as my company only uses argon for purginh
