Maybe you could save time and energy by getting a box for trash or trash bags as well as empty bins to put the valuables in. That way you empty the house faster.
I third it! Between Guapo & these guys, they could take lessons from Christian & Patience. C & P's organization & time consumption management is great! They (C & P) know how to attack an area & separate the wheat from the chaff. Guapo I have to stop watching he breaks all the beautiful glasswear and fingers paper money thats not been hand touched ever. It sickens me. But ur right whenever separating, use one good bin, 2 garbage bins. One garbage bin for just papers, mail, etc. You can check that all later for stamps, money, gift cards etc. These guys never 'clear' one area so they can set up a table to work on. They jump from room to room, like Guapo, one surface to another. Good women have it down to a science...We can do it to others homes... Just not our own. Lol
I have watched other people, clean out hoarder houses. It drives me batty , thinking I would be more organized. But somebody else said ,if they did it the way I think it should be done. It wouldn't be as interesting. That maybe the case.
I go crazy watching how many times you handle things. I would have to be putting thing in boxes or something. If I picked up trash it would go right in a trash bag. I love to organize thing.
I was thinking the same. All paperwork they wanted to go through, I would be putting in those black garbage bags they found.....or, I would put the actual "trash" in them. Course if the dumpsters were delivered on time, I bet they'd have cleaned out the garage, and then set up staging areas for paper, furniture, household, along with the collectibles, for more detailed review before dumpster removal. Course, here in OH, recycling paper and cardboard is a nice money maker for non-profits who have large bins on the property that people can drop off their recycling.
Im behind watching these my significant other passed away a few weeks back this was our thing. Watching these vids. Im watching for her! She would've loved these just like I do! So many treasures you've found!
I had a mother-in-law who was a hoarder in Columbia City, Indiana. She did the same. Kept her old house to hold her hoard and moved into half of a duplex she owned down the street. The garage at the duplex contained a car that hadn't seen the light of day in many years because it was buried in stuff. On her death bed from cancer she admitted to her children that she had 15 storage units rented around town. The oldest son was a businessman in town and had a friend who owned an auction business so his auctioneer friend took over handling the hoard. Apparently when they tried to enter the first house the floors on the entry level had collapsed into the basement from the weight of the hoard. I was only in the house a few times but she had stuff stacked clear to the ceiling with paths through the first floor. She became widowed about 9 months after I married her son. Her people were farmers and they couldn't afford to feed all their children in The Depression so they sent her to live with a maiden aunt in town. My ex-husband felt that influenced her hoarding later on, but she didn't start to hoard until her children left home.
Her kids probably didn't know she was hoarding throughout their childhood, and that's why so many storage units. I bet the auctioneer found papers going back through to the birth of her children.
OK Where is al the DUST? The stuff has been there for years ,and there is no dust anywhere. If the stuff was in storage it would have a ton of Dust on it!
Going back to the egg shells, I’ve been trying to thing why, they weren’t for decorated eggs. But I think you can use broken up egg shells to keep slugs & snails away from plants. In her mind maybe she was thinking she’d use them. She has a lot of rubbish, but it’s not sacks of rotting food, a mountain of drinks cans, I saw that once on a show! 2 foot deep in rubbish in the kitchen. Teen daughter went to make some eggs for the poor me mom, she flicked cockroaches off the cooker, broke the eggs and threw them over her shoulder! The dad of the teen kids visited, he moved a picture frame…😬 hundreds of them. Why the heck did he let his kids live in that dump?
That is going to take a lot of work are you going to find a nice house it's going to be amazing you haven't even got into the money yet God bless you Rob love you
Boy oh boy Rob you got yourself into one big mess but the good part is it's got a lot of money in there too everything adds up right God bless you all this is your friend Peggy from Delaware
I would love to just at a table a go through each box and sort for you and catch each penny, car, and card for you! I was born in 74 so I know vintage 50s +
Thanks for sharing the video it amazes me what can be found in a place like this it's awesome hope you do a recap of the finds in the house after you go through it and get the trash out either one room at a time recap or after you have went through the whole thing take care hope you all have a blessed day 💜
did her kids not know about this? good grief! we had a lady here in town that her house was almost just like that. she got sick and they had to make a path to get to her. fire dept. came and declared it uninhabitable and gave her 30 days to clean it out, her kids just laughed about it. geeze my kids think i keep too much stuff now! and the only thing on my floor is in the closet all my shoes. but they would never let it get liike that. hoarding to that extent is an illness. i dont know how you are doin that, i think id grab the furniture and toss a match in. nawww i wouldnt id have a lawn chair outside by the dumpster and go through every box and bag there is. can it be such a sad situation or is it a really fun thing to do. time will tell. just make sure you wear those gloves and wash your hands and face the minute you leave and wear your mask. sound like a mom or grandma dont i----hehehehe I am both. you are young enough to be my grandson---hell all of you except conky not sure how old he is. stay safe my friend!!!
It gets on my last nerve with all the trash and papers that shouldn't be there but then you find something so vintage so I think, yeah, I would go thru all that trash too.
Hopefully after you get the dumpsters at the end of videos you can show what you found or either after you finish a room you can do an over view of what you found to keep and what you are going to donate. Just an idea. Good luck
Kept getting frustrated because you were doing nothing but moving things from one place to another. Why did you not put a tote fore items you wanted, box for anything to donate and trash bag or box for trash. Then while digging through put items in keep, donate or trash and start getting items out?
They have their way of working and it works for them. We’re lucky they’re taking us with them for our entertainment. I’d likely drive you nuts with my way of doing something, you might drive me nuts with your way. Personally I’d never find where I was up to & not sleep wondering if I put something in the bin or the keeps
Why not clean the garage. And things people might want that your not auctioning and just put tables up in garage and set up a garage cheap garage sale. One man’s garbage is another’s treasure. Sad part is important documents and photos will be thrown out. As a genealogist and family historian that part breaks my heart. Your sorting system is so disorganized. How do you know you aren’t missing something important.
10:07 you do realize the "Hoosier Cabinet" you are searching is worth $money, right? It appears to have a porcelain top. Does that top pull out to knead dough on? Are all the drawers & doors there? Bingo!
I know You are videoing but when not In camera do have a trash bag/ can next to you? Maybe get a bag like the ones they use for trash pickup that goes over your shoulder so as you find something to keep you place in your bag and when too heavy “time to Empty”
Hey Rob that one box had a bunch of coupons in it I wonder if there's any no expiration date on them they are you can still use them to this day if they have the no expiration if somebody has time to go through that box that you just said with the blue phone in it
This is a clean home, there’s way too much stuff, it’s disorganised and messy. But there’s no huge spider webs, a ring of dirt around light switches, rodents, animal poo… In a way I want to know about the people who lived there, what was their story. In another way I value their privacy.
Ooof….now I noticed you have bare legs! I’m in bed watching & pulled my legs up so they were crossed to protect them from anything furry 😂 the fact you’re going to be at least 3000 miles away doesn’t matter to my scaredy cat mind! I can’t imagine how much therapy I’d need if one touched me! I saw a rat in my garden when I was about 7, I’m in my forties and I still remember it, at least I was in a swing so off the ground 😂
Now you’ve explained she hasn’t lived there for twenty years! It’s remarkably clean. I’ve seen homes on hoarder shows where it’s like a rubbish dump, they might have only been there a couple of years. The walls are filthy, huge cobwebs…I suppose the difference could be she didn’t eat something and just leave the empty plate or drinks can where it was. I can see why her adult children didn’t want to clear it.
Do you have a donate pile ? I’m sure some stuff you don’t want would still be suitable for donation. I’ve just discovered your channel and have subbed Do you check the envelopes for money?
I think that a you tuber would search for stuff to create excitement rather than systematicly organize and cleanup as they go. I like the lack of order
Yeah carry a trash bar with you for the trash and all those papers and s*** and then take it to the dumpster why do you just take it out of one place and throw it to another you're very unorganized I can come help you I'm very organized
You can definitely tell men are at work. 🤣😜Grab a trash can and purge while you work. 🦾💪 It’s be much easier than going through everything twice which is what you’re doing.
Unfortunately, as I said in the video, the dumpsters aren't there yet. The 15 garbage cans I have are full. I am just trying to get as much filming done while waiting for dumpsters. They showed up 6 hours late

Omaze had remade 1 or 5 🤔 Deloreans a yr or so ago for a give away.
Check the salt cans!
I totally agree with you Eileen Meehan. They have absolutely no sense of order. Crazy way to clear a house!!
Wouldn't it save time to have a large trash can or bag as you go through this? Seems like it would save time.
Maybe you could save time and energy by getting a box for trash or trash bags as well as empty bins to put the valuables in. That way you empty the house faster.
I Second that ......was thinking the same thing

I agree too. It would have avoided in redoing the search a second or #-time later

Awesome hoarder house Rob!! 💖💖💖💖💖
I’d love to see this house after you’ve emptied it out.
You keep on finding new places for Conky to live in, LOL!
So amazing how 1 person can collect so much stuff . Hope you can get through the piles to find the treasures you need the dumpsters badly

That's really very sad. I feel a lot of sympathy for lonely people who feel compelled to keep everything.

Yeah I haven't seen those little disc shooting guns in a long time
Remote is for inflatable robot from radio shack. It had a grey bottom that you put the inflatable robot in. I got mine in the 1980s at a flea market.

Keep the Buttons & the Hippo!!! I cant believe you did Not put those in the keeper box.
