- Located in a private estate in Thika just an hour away from Nairobi, Mugumo Cottage is a true oasis, perfect for a weekend getaway with friends or family!
This massive cottage is lakeside with three bedrooms accommodating up to six people, with a full kitchen, a large living room and more outdoor space then you will ever need. It is also dog friendly so we brought Stich with us!

14 Falls of Thika
After Googling "What to do in Thika", one thing kept popping up on every website, the Fourteen Falls. After driving about 50 minutes from Mugumo Cottage, we made it to the falls. Many have told us that this place is heavily populated and after looking at the color of the water, those people are probably right. But let's all agree that this place is stunning and hopefully by bringing attention to it maybe people will start taking action. Otherwise, it was a pleasure to spend some time with our two favorite locals, John and Maurice!

"Tracy is not the most adventurous person". That has to be the biggest understatement of all time. A Nova Scotia girl that gave it all up to go on an adventure with you to Africa and takes part in all your activities! Apologies are in order :) BTW, I still don't understand why you are only at 100K subscribers. These videos and content is fantastic and are a different take to most of the content on the subject of travel to this part of the world. I think because you do not use sensational headlines to increase viewships. I would love to see more of your videos in other east african countries as you make your way southwards as well.,

I have never heard of Mugumo cottage. The avocado is lovely, three months to go here, for the season. Congratulations to the 100 subscribers. The guides again are very kind.

There's also Mt Kilimambogo (big hill on the right as you cruise along Thika Road outbound before the Thika-Garissa highway flyover).
The hill is inside Oldonyo Sabuk National Park, a few kilometers from 14 falls. The best part is that you can opt to drive all the way to the summit if you don't feel like hiking 😊 the views up there are breathtaking!

Beautiful cottage! I remember the last time I visited 14 falls was when I was doing my university project of designing a resort there. Glad to see it looks cleaner now. And for 300USD a night that cottage is a deal! Fun video. 😃

You asked and you received...congrats 100K +.......go visit the Blue Post Hotel in Thika...use to hang out there back in the late 70s ...they had a disco and we also loved drinking overlooking that natural water fall....boy do I need to get back in my now old age in the diaspora.

I have a few questions if you have the time to answer.
1) Is Stitch your dog? I thought I saw a dog at your house a while back.
2) So there are leech's in the waterfall area That would freak me out 😏
3) Why is water so foamy? It kind of reminds me of water in a hippo pool (yuck). Where does this water flow from upstream?
1) he is our friend's dog but we see him a lot.
2) after the fact, we think they were "poop warms" due to the pollution
