I am thinking of purchasing it but am unsure what is being provided. Will I receive e copies of the printed rhythms as well as the soundtracks or do I have to go to UA-cam to hear the rhthyms? I want something that stands on its own and not have to bring up UA-cam in order to hear what I see in print.
Great practice. If only I had this back in the late 40's in Chicago; when I was learning musical theory. It makes things simple; that appear complicated. I had not read music for 65 yrs. But it only took a few "bars" to get right back into the "groove". Wow! Thank you. And may Jesus bless you for bringing a moment of happiness reading music again.
For the ones having some difficulties with the final exercise (the quarter notes triplet), I'd recommend counting those like two eight notes triplets, and only tapping on the : **One** two **Three** One **Two** Three
Someone's using their head. It's all math. You can't count in 4's (1-e-and-a, 2 e-and-a) because 8÷3 isn't a whole number, so count each beat in 3's (tri-pl-et, tri-pl-et). 6÷3 is 2, so every other pulse gets the beat! (TRI-pl-ET, tri-PL-et).
It shows what perseverance does, I tried clapping along to this a few weeks back and didn't get very far, but now, after constantly going over it I can do each one except the last one. A very good video 👍🏻
Took back to music theory in school, and how we would practice these twice a week (not enough.) That was years ago I’m so out of practice. But this came up and I felt concerned about how I would do . Turns out I did pretty well up and had a lot fun all the way through. The last one tripped me up but inspired me to keep practicing. I will be looking for more!
Thanks to UA-cam because you in the add on front page. Got to give it to who it may concern. I can practice with this video to bring on my sax learning, because I have only taken an interest in playing the saxophone after a lot of years, thinking about it Well done to you and best of luck for the Future
Best exercises (for those already familiar with rhythm ). I really loved it. Those quarter note triplets were really fun. Grade tempo. Grading of exercises, I found , was quite even. More please!!!

Simple and very easy to read...thank you...for those who would like colors on the note, its not a very good idea, because it won't make you challenge ur self...just follow the black dots and believe me it will be more comfortable and challenging
Keeping the speed slow I learned was the trick, and practicing over again and again got the rhythm to stick while watching. :) thank you for this! can always increase or decrease speed for intensity and practice!
Practicing at slow tempos is actually making me a better player tho! I find it kinda difficult but the third time I nailed it! love those videos, keep 'em coming Cheers from italy :)
same here just started to play trumpet and read together for 3 months now(im 51). Playing the trrumpet is for Me not as hard as to learn to read music and combine those 2. pfff😫 but i love it.
Practicing the piano right now and my instructor didn't spend much time on this, so I decided to search and I found you guys. It was really helpful. Thanks a million!
Thanks. I'm just encountering the formal representation of this stuff for the first time. The exercises are very useful, and I stop and go back a few bars as I find myself getting a little lost. Very helpful!
this is very awesome. It gently takes you through the class. Its very good for learners. But I hope there'd be something more lively in terms of music or beat background. I can't really explain. I hope you would be able to understand me
Very good and easy to learn. I suggest to colour the black pointer . For people with poor sight it's difficult to tell the pointer from the bar line and notes' stems.
This are really good exercises, especially for beginners and those out of touch getting back to music. I have already lost my sense of rhythms until I see this video.
I think it would be helpful if when the triplets were first introduced, they would be played separately from regular 8th or 16th notes. So the first triplet exercises would be combining half notes, quarter notes and 8th triplets. And the first quarter note triplet exercise would combine quarter notes, 8th triplets, quarter note triplets and half notes. Only after that (when one understands how to read in "triplet feel" separately from straight 8ths or 16ths) does it make sense to learn to combine the two different rhythmic feels (triplet and 16th note). Also, when introducing the quarter note triplet, it would probably make sense to start with alternating between 8th note triplets and quarter note triplets.
Good Morning. I'm from Brazil and although I am very happy for your lessons, at first they seem to be a kinda difficult. But I'm just a beginner and I want to learn how to master each exercise. I thank you for your willingness to teach us in such a wonderful way through youtube. ( Nunes kaewan)
This is great. I’ve been playing drums for many years, have played in many bands, recorded, toured, but never learned to read. I’m playing afro cuban style percussion in a jazz band and all thirteen of the other players read music (all, except for one) teach music as well as perform. They’re very kind to me, very respectful, yet I often feel outside of their ribbing each other because their jokes are music-related. So, I’m beginning to learn, and your video is a VERY big help. Thank you so much! (Our band is called MaryLous Apartment by the way. We have a barebones website under that name (.com) but you might find it interesting if you’re into jazz.
this is by far the most helpful exercise ever... ive learned the best off this particular lesson... this an awesome exercise for beginners and advanced
Wooooooooo ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉I always wanted to understand this and needed someone to by my side and practice together 😊 thanks for helping me ❤ I appreciate it ❤ thank you thank you thank youuuu ❤😊😊😊 I thought that’s difficult but with this video I am getting better to understanding it and with watching this video everyday I am sure that I’ll be able to play guitar notes better than I do now 💖🌸
It is wonderful to be able to practise pn the midi with these notes clicking. The first set was easy, the second set fairly easy until the triplets... but having the clicks will help me feel comfortable soon.
This part with the 3 on top caught me off guard at first. Didn't know what it meant. Turned out to be the coolest part of the entire exercise for me. XD. Thanks.
Do you have any books with CD's with all the rhythm studies? Because that would be great. Not everyone can teach rhythm you are by far one of the best.
just count 1/8th triplets in your head and accent every second note to get the 1/4 triplets. IE: 1+a 2+a 3+a 4+a like this- >.>.>.>.>.>. that gives the 1/4 triplets

I spent an hour on 10 alone
This is really good no one ever taught me about rhythm before they just expect you to play and figure it ... most can do that but I can’t

Very good for praciticing, easy at the Begiining and a little challenging at the End ..for me ..just started a few month ago to read music

It was very instructive and not so difficult. Thank you very much !
This is exactly what I was loooking for to improve the rythm side of my sight reading thanks!

The last was difficult, great practice though for someone like me who is trying to do what you fellows are great at.
Golda Ganeshdin yeah the rest where okay
The last should be easy af after listening to bruckner's 4th symphony😂😂
Stanford Sibelius omg so true!!! I never even thought about that until you said it but you are right
just count 1/8th triplets in your head and accent every second note to get the 1/4 triplets. IE: 1+a 2+a 3+a 4+a like this- >.>.>.>.>.>. that gives the 1/4 triplets
Very good exercises. Thanks!
