  • Main Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina is from another era but it's also very much of today. Hendersonville is in the Blue Ridge Mountains about twenty-two miles south of Asheville. It became the county seat of Henderson County in 1840. Hendersonville is named in honor of North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Leonard Henderson. Today, it has a population of about fourteen thousand. Main Street has remained remarkably in tack from the 1880's and '90's. when many of the buildings were constructed. Ownership has changed many times but the commitment and pride of place remains strong. Take a stroll on Main Street and be sure to look up. Explore side streets and back alleys. You'll see things you may have missed before.
