I’ve been anorexic, and I’ve been overweight in this life. I’ve always battled with my self image. I hope anyone who is suffering with any eating, health or mental health conditions can find some balance, and self love within. Much love to all 💕

@@shadeaquaticbreeder2914 That’s a very personal question to ask someone to share on an open comments section. I’m sure you can find plenty of research into this ‘stuff’ online, and also people’s personal struggles with it too if you’re interested in researching it further. If others wish to speak about it online, they will invariably open the discussion themselves. When I left my initial comment, it was to wish people health & wellness who are currently struggling from the perspective of someone who understands their plight. I’m pretty sure there are many YT channels where people talk about their own personal issues with their particular conditions. All the best : )

@@sheilablake7913 gawd touchy much? Lol. Chill. I am not entitled to an answer I just took your comment as a little stuck up too. So we both misunderstood. If you wish to know anything 'personal' about me that you feel may help you in some way I would be happy to provide. I don't understand why it's be a problem especially when it's to understand something but if you do not wish to share them okay that's fine, that's up to you. That's another societal brainworm most people have is problems sharing experiences, we are taught that it's not 'cool' when in reality it's important for everyone involved for many reasons. Like how we don't talk about girls' periods and therefore it's a problem for a lot of women and then kids tease about it bc they don't understand.

Doctor's receptionists now lift their heads from a monitor and look straight at yr eyes with a stare that is still looking at a computer screen....and is still looking at a computer screen during the entire interaction with the patient. Patients are computer data even when we physically enter the reception area. Start there: eye contact. Doctors' surgeries have lost eye contact with patients the way Ground Control lost radio contact with Major Tom.

Body image issues still speak to a spiritual deficiency that tells you (inaccurately) that you're not enough, you don't have enough, and that at your core there is something lacking within you. Glad that there is attention being shed on the male perspective of body image

I would disagree greatly. I would say that if you don't like how your body is and aren't changing it and feel bad about it it's bc you know deep down that you shouldn't eat that Twinkie or 3 full plates or whatever it is. Bc if you were fulfilled within you wouldn't care what you looked like outside as long as you healthy and you definitely wouldn't care what others think

"I think it's really healthy for people not to feel terrorized who don't want to."
Alas, we do not exist within a healthy world so long as advertisers promulgate body shaming for profit industries.
Bill Hicks had it right when it came to marketing. Everyone else, has it wrong.

Lol only a group of severely unhealthy people would say it's bad to show healthy people lol. That's why I don't understand this stuff. • @grey5626
      @grey5626 2 роки тому +2

@@shadeaquaticbreeder2914 I acknowledge that you do not understand this stuff, thank you for your honesty.
Lamentably, this has little or nothing to do with healthy people. If you want to know if you are healthy or not, consult a medical professional.
Unfortunately, we instead exist in a reality where the diet industry was grossing something close to 192.2 billion in 2019. A significant portion of diet marketing, is based upon fear, and attacking individuals' sense of self worth based upon body image. It has absolutely nothing to do with whether an individual may be healthy or not, advertisers are not medical professionals, yet they dispense advice with abandon, even if it may not actually be substantiated by any real concerns. This marketing tactic causes inordinate amounts of problems, ranging from anorexia, anxiety, body dysmorphia and many more. In other words, marketing and advertising techniques, linked to the diet and exercise industries, seem to be causing more problems than they profess to solve.
If you are unfamiliar with Bill Hicks, he was a comedian. He had some very choice words to say about those in the advertising industry, you can get a sense of that here: ua-cam.com/video/tHEOGrkhDp0/v-deo.html

@@grey5626 thank you! And also I do not think that most 'health professionals' know much of anything about actual health, they have been brainwashed by society into thinking health is something different which is its own problem. But my thing is it sounds like you are saying that these ads are brainwashing people and they are so weak that they fall for it right?? Otherwise I don't understand what marketing has to do with it as far as it being bad as the premise is lose weight if you are overweight/unhealthy and not eating junk foods. Like the problem is people are too insecure about themselves, bc it's like they are telling you you should be not fat and people lose their shit when it's something they actually have complete control over lol. I mean idk what exact body image stuff we are all talking about so that may make a difference lol. Bc to me the bodybuilding body image stuff is non-existent in that that's past natural and therefore delusional to be conceived as normal but if we are talking about just weight loss then I don't see a problem in the marketing really but definitely I do in the industry of weight loss. Also if these ads make you go anorexic or whatever then I'd say you have some huge problems you need ironed out, that doesn't mean that the ad did it to you.

I was brought up with my parents and friends saying I was the pretty blonde one (all the time). Now I’m a lot older, I struggle to feel I have an identity as that is all people saw. Of course I’m more than that but it gives me bad anxiety when I have to go out anywhere. I put weight on too (stress of the last two plus years, I didn’t buy into it but it did of course affect my life as it did everyone) so that doesn’t help. I’ve only left the house about four times in the last 6 months. Moving back to England in two weeks and hope that I will find myself again. Selling our house, packing, travelling unvaxxed and sorting the dog travel (from the dictatorship that is Canada) will probably kill me but let’s hope not 😊 Absolutely love your videos ❤️ I prefer the funny ones but I was looking for anxiety help. I’m going to try your meditation one next time it comes up, probably tomorrow 😂

I feel we need to accept that the world is not fair, some people are just fortunate and are born with genetics that give them bodies and faces which fit the beauty norms. We can’t all be beautiful but we can still be confident and live a good life. When a body is beautiful due to the hard work an individual has put in, we should admire and aspire to the effort they have put in. This we can all do regardless of where we start and can be applied to our life as a whole and we will see improvement. Even learning to meditate takes effort… I would imagine being a beautiful person according to the norm, comes with an internal pressure to stay looking this good. Don’t think because someone looks good they have a positive self image.

I had to look up the two guys you mentioned because I didn't even know who they were. lol One thing I'm not impressed by are guys who have overly-exaggerated massive muscles, like the Terminator look, etc. I don't like that look at all. One time I was out with my girlfriends and we went to a Mexican restaurant that had a house band, and this creep walked up to me flexing his ridiculous muscles. He was wearing some kind of liquid silver metallic glitter short-sleeved painted on shirt in the dead of winter. He looked me up and down and first thing he said as his opening line was, "I spend eight hours a day working out at the gym. I can tell you have a really good body." Lol I was completely covered up. It was cold. How could he tell anything? I just remember thinking if he spent the same amount of time working on his mind instead of his body he would have been far better off. The guy was a moron.....a bit of a creepy stalker too. He asked for a ride and to my relief my friends turned him down. Then he got angry and deliberately flung his full bottle of beer he had rudely sat on our table into me and it spilled all over me and he stormed off. He wasn't even sitting with us. He was standing by our table like an intruder trying to invite himself to join us. We couldn't stand the guy. Then the next time I was out with friends he spotted me and had the nerve to try and talk to me again with a stupid smile on his face as if he hadn't done a thing. What a loser. lol I see guys who overly work out as vain and superficial and no one I'd ever be interested in.You look good as you are. You don't need to change a thing. There's too much pressure on society that we have to look a certain way. It's an illusion.

@@Xrpqsteam I kind of said it all:-) I don't find guys who look like weight lifters attractive. I don't like overly exaggerated biceps. I'd rather have a guy who is artistically and intellectually inclined over a guy who is considered buff. I was never attracted to the jock types in school. I found them rather boring and usually mentally inept. lol Have a Happy Friday:-) 💙

One morning as the sun rose l was sat on a naturist beach in Heliopolis, Cap d'Agde on the S.coast of France and a family of 7 walked by all holding hands. 2 small children wading, their parents anchoring them on the wet sand, the grandparents were on the dry sand with the end guy holding a carrier bag with sandals as they were all barefoot.
A timeless event ,people beachcombing the morning after a storm.
Their connectivity was one of the most profoundly touching things I have ever seen.

I totally hear this, I hate my body. I'm a 5'8 male which is a embarrassment in my views, what's weird is my legs. My Tibia (the main long bone beneath the knee cap or the bottom portion of the leg before the ankle) bone is much longer then my Femur which I've never once seen that on anyone else's legs before. Most think I'm wearing a heel lift or shoes designed to give me a boot in height simply because it looks unnatural. I hate looking at myself in mirrors I've been conditiones that if you don't look like one of the Hollywood actors and are this height... You're not a man. But then women got a hold of the male hand book, now I have to be over six foot not to be considered gross and unattractive. It's women that really get you done

I think only unhealthy bodies are not attractive. But even that isn't true. The idea that I am a body is not true. And so many times Ive met people who would be deemed physically 'ugly' in accordance with the worlds idea of beauty, who I considered gorgeous.
    Their gorgeousness comes from within.
My idea of beauty is a face/body I can look at every day because it somehow feels right. Its in the eye of the beholder then, so feeling like one has to compete is quite erroneous. And while external beauty and even ugliness fades, not just with age but even with familiarity, internal beauty is infinite, ever deepening and completely unknowable.

Then the pandemic came & i lost it all, bcoz i thought we were all going to die, i was going nuts locked inside,😂 and im not ready to die yet.

The male body image growing up in a family with many males of differing body images I discovered the main reason they ever cared to work out and get fit and fine was to impress or attract women after they got themselves a woman not so interested. As for the women in the family and we are many same thing. Other reasons to be fit and fine is for ones own self esteem. Myself I don’t see peoples bodies or their age and cannot guess an age for I seem to look past the outside and just see inside of a person as the beauty truly lies there but will admit for eye candy I don’t mind checking out them fit and fine men so of course I wouldn’t pick one of them for a partner cos everyone else wants them🤪🤣

I feel it must be truly difficult for actresses. I have seen UA-cam clips of actors saying 'They told me: You must gain 50 pounds for this part.' And then you must lose 40 pounds for the next one. I think about the ladies a lot. We happened across this old show that everyone loved. Of course, no one realised it was old at the time. This one lady is not an actress anymore. But I can tell what guys are thinking about her. If I post the same photo on two different pages, but cover up the neckline a bit more on one, the Other one gets a ton more likes. All the articles about her mention her size "still a handsome woman, in spite of the weight gain." I feel it's very cruel. Do these mean people actually Believe none of her Friends see it...or maybe She does not see it herself? I do not even actually Know her, and it hurts My feelings. I guess it's just the way I Live everything I See...so I feel like someone is hurting my friend.
I have this big thing about not eating, when I'm sad. After Mom's suicide, I got down to where I was practically swimming in a size zero dress. I thought it would be nice, if I could stay that way. I was all zero fat grams, and did research on Victoria's Secret models. I found out a Lot of them survive on half a head of lettuce a day, and vitamin water. That's IT!! Everyone acts like it's so tragic that she's not acting anymore. She's probably happy that she can Eat! 🥰 Actually, it was a terrible show...the most horrific thing we had EVER seen. This guy that Everyone loved...they just SHOT him!! Right in front of God and everyone...as if he was a mountain lion about to attack the QUEEN!! I guess I will be mourning him the rest of my life. Mr Invisible, that no one ever heard of, who was gunned down, and never heard from again.
Anyway, we really liked that lady. In the end, she was the only part of that dumb show that wasn't sad. I wish just One time, someone would simply say: She was seen at Macys with her friend, having a fun day. And Not say Anything about what size they think she is. Who cares? Those celeb writers aren't buying her dresses.
Everyone wishes they could be like me, and just stop eating when they're sad. But it's not fun to be in so much pain. The trick is to eat just enough so you don't faint. I got scared last time, cuz I could not get a handle on the dizziness. I started eating too soon...my heart still hurts. I will probably go another round soon. I don't know why the heck they're shooting people on television. No wonder I always hated visual media. But I like her. I sent her a card on her birthday. No return address. I didn't want her to think I was just another joker looking for an autograph to sell on EBay. I just wanted her to have a fun day♡

A healthy body is a beautiful body - you look just fine, no worries :) We're all critical of our bodies, in some way, but try to remember there's always someone struggling with their bodies as much or more than you. It sometimes bums me out that I walk with a bad limp & that people notice. (Childhood issue.) But I just explain that it could be worse. I'll see someone confined to a wheelchair & very thankful that I'm upright & mobile. It's OK, being imperfect. But still do all you can to stay healthy. It helps you feel your best, whatever your appearance circumstances.

I really worry about the long term effects of the lip fillers and botox .Boob jobs and bum implants that the young girls are using today . 99% do not need this . You are pretty girls . Natural beauty is the best ..The girls feel they have to go and have these beauty treatments . That I know can,t be good for them . I don't know a lot about them but what happens for instance to their lips when they stop ? Then what happens when the fashion goes back to normal size bums . Does my bum look big in this ? Well yes you had implants to make it large ? These fads are not as easy as ours were . You can stop dying your hair pink & black and spiking it up . I don't think you can do much once you have started with botox and fillers . You are beautiful as you are girls . Please don't go for these procedures . Especially if it is to attract a partner . Temporary measures are fine please don't get these things injected into your lips . Any of those procedures you can,t change at home yourself . I would seriously recommend you don,t have them . I KNOW I sound like an old woman talking about this. I really am thinking of you in the long term . If ppl don't take you as you are they don,t deserve you in the first place .. .. 🌍✌

It is not good to be unhealthy either...this need to make anything and everything beautiful just shows how much resistance to their own nature people really have. A good thing is to accept how you are so you can consciously realise what is wrong and what you shpuld do. And what should be done is often times uncomfortable. The uncomfortable truth. So it is much more easy to just create your own bubble and say it's other peoples fault. It is heathy to have some kinds of ideals in our head about how a heathy body should look like. And that lady IS kinda fat. That doesnt mean i hate her or i judge her for her body but that doesnt mean i think she is beautiful physically. Have ideals. Or at least be conscious about them bcs you have them anyway.
And i do think people now are really only caring about the superficial, the looks and the FEELINGS. Does it feel good to think that or do that. If not im not even gonna see if it's actually true or not. And thats the cause why people care about looks so much, bcs they dont see things in depth, they dont care about that. And thats also the reason why this whole thing with fat is beautiful started. Bcs they sensed they are juged and it feels better to just say youre special and like burgers and chips.

I am old enough now to accept what I have. ! There is no point trying expensive new make up,s and creams...tablets ..I know they rarely work . They come with these fantastic claims that they can fix almost anything . Unfairly hopes are made as high as the prices . The great creams /lotions and pills claim they can change this , improve that .The results not so great .. It is the same unless you are constantly looking to not look like yourself . 😂 . The best thing you can do is accept yourself . As you ARE ...warts and all ( Cromwell ) . Once you have accepted your own looks / hair and build ... you will be far happier . Then you can get on with just making the best of what your parents gave you . Picking the best make up for your skin type . Instead of trying to change your skin type (rarely possible ) or change your hair . If you have fine hair or curly hair . Whatever it is you don't like . Don't fight against it . Ask your hairdresser what style can make your hair appear thicker or what style is best for wavy or curly hair . Easiest for you to maintain ...your build again usually from your parents also ....dress for your build ... if you're not sure what that is . There are plenty of sites that will advise you . Once you have done all this you will be far happier with your own skin /makeup, hair and body shape .... if you're looking to lose weight . One of the best tips I ever got was that you don't have to finish your plate . We are programmed from school dinners and home to empty your plate . I myself hate wasting food .. but after you have started this . You learn to cook less and then eat smaller portions than you did . Before you concentrated on portion sizes .I also was told to bulk my dinners with as much veg as possible.. that way it is very low calorie intake but fills you up .Try hard to Never eat after 9 p.m. Most days I don't have any supper as I am still full up from dinner . 👍🌍✌ .....Hope this helps someone as it helped me . Accept yourself and instead of trying lotions and potions to change the unchangeable.....use that time, money and effort working with what your parents gave you ... Do it for yourself . There is no point doing it to find a partner . If you ask 20 people what they like in a partner . There are gonna be 20 different answers possibly a bit less . What I am getting at is everyone has different tastes in a partner . I never liked the body builders look . Many women do ... the friend I am sitting with now does not like that look either . Though we have different tastes in men altogether . Even though we have retired ourselves from the dating scene ... we are quite happy on our own nowadays ... peace , quiet and the remote control all to ourselves . 😂👍 🌍✌ ....

Imagine how boring the world would be if everyone had the same "perfect" body 😂 true beauty comes from within and there is a lot more to a person than how their bodies look. Some of the most ugliest people I have known have been absolutly beautiful to look at, but a nasty evil personality.
