Nivas Cash & Carry

This jingle will always reign special for me.
The client wanted the location of his new Cash and Carry to be known to public. He wanted something catchy and the people who would be listening should be able to locate the place using this jingle.
The idea for the tune came from a very unusual place. When I went to Medan,Indonesia to perform for an event ,there was an Indonesian singer who was entertaining everyone with a folk song. The tune of this song sounded very much like our Joget melody so I used the melody and set the tune to an Indian Kuttu beat.
So the first two lines go like -Jalan Baru Ayya Koyillukkum, Perai Jaya Mega mall-ukkum ( near the Jalan Baru Ayya Temple and near the Perai Jaya Mega Mall). By just listening to these lines, one could easily find the new Cash and Carry.
It was everyones contribution that made this jingle a success. The singing style is also not very Indian ,it has a western touch to it.
