He made it seem so much more complicated than it actually really is.😭

I just put 2 cups of water per 1 cup of rice. Then put it on high and once it boils i turn it to low until the water is gone. Perfect rice.

Stereotypes exist for a reason this guy showed me how to cook rice and I trust him not just because he's Asian but because what he says makes sense and mostly because he's Asian

I’m Latino we fry our rice around here, and by the way however many cups of rice you put just put double the water if you want some really bomb rice get your pot put a little bit of olive oil diced up some onions fry those onions and throwing your one cup of rice fry all of that together until gold add your 2 cups of water put the pot top on put your heat on low and don’t come back for another 15 minutes on a nonstick pot I guarantee you it’s gonna be perfect till the top a little bit to let the heat escape and u good

Born in Japan but my mother is Mexican . Mexican method for rice, 2 cups water per 1 cup rice. Japanese way, just up to your first knuckle . Lol it’s actually 1 and a half cups water per cup rice. Hahahahahaha love it buddy

So when you get home at 6 at night you have three kids and a starving spouse you don't have time to soak your rice for an hour come on man great method just not practical for most people

NOTES for reference: 3 cups of rice. Rinsed three times. Water level at 3/4ths of the first line of the finger (watch the video I'm not gonna spoil it for you). Soak for 60 minutes. Bring to boil. No lid peeking. 10 minutes at medium-high, 5 at low and 5 at no heat.

Greasy Midwest Gringo here. Didn't have any potatoes for my slow cook meal, found rice in the pantry, found your short. Thank you.

  • @peytonsmith1062

I showed this to one of my Asian friends she said you don’t have to soak it for 60 minutes. That’s personal preference but I like how he makes everything complicated 😃

I am from the offspring of farmers that plant our own rice in Borneo Island. The newer the rice, the less water you need to use. Yes, I have the experience of planting the paddy, processing it traditionally and selling it. But not experienced enough to do it alone as my parents did. I tell you, the rice are 10x more delicious than the one you find at market.
