Good way to humble the students. I wouldn't give any credit to the profs though. All it takes is a couple of nights spent in researching the toughest books on Classical Mechanics and find a bunch of questions from that book. Plus this is a wrong way to test someone's intelligence / capability. They would never encounter a situation like this in the real (especially professional) life. Even if they did, they'd have a lot of time to solve it given the problem's difficulty.
There are some questions we should leave for gifted kids since they are the only ones capable of it like not many people will become like Einstein. It's all not just about hardwork.
