I've seen many youtubers play for a while and then quit it because it takes a lot of time to finish and demands dedication. Any way, keep up the good work man!
Thank you for your support! I know it can be a massive pain trying to find work sometimes, you get all sorts of strange situations like people asking for 2 years experience to do a simple job- but of course you can't get 2 years of experience if nobody takes you on without it. Something will come along for you eventually though, keep your head up so you don't miss a good opportunity! I'm actually wrapping up this series pretty soon, next monday's video should be the finale of the series. I can completely understand why people don't finish the playthrough though, having to contend with the same frustrating bugs for 100hrs+ and then losing a lot of progress because one simple thing went wrong is so infuriating.

It was a long, long time since I last played this game when I started the series! I was surprised I even remembered what zeroing was haha I feel like I'm getting a bit closer to how I used to be able to play this game in the newer videos though
@@doinkstr you can with pg up/down. All the aks start on 350m and you have to go UP to get to 100m. Took me a bit to figure it out. Also, if you're using an optic like a red dot of some sort, it's possible the zero is locked to 300m.
@@doinkstr Possible late response, but ion case anyone else is wondering: The AKMS starts with 350m zeroing, but INCREASING the zeroing would reduce it at 100m. Weird stuff, but it works
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have to say though, the struggles in this video are nothing compared to what this mission put me through later in the series haha
I'm 100% convinced the civilian AI is programmed to intercept your vehicles and stand in front of them. The enemy AI does the opposite unless you approach them from behind. I've resorted to trying to fake the civilians out on approach because its the only way to avoid them. Love this scenario though. Back when I used to play ArmA I lived off WLA because it was the only mode like it, but it hasn't been developed on since Saok moved on to his own project. Antistasi definitely breathes more life into the game.
It seems that way, almost like they were programmed to try and dodge vehicles but they messed up and they go the wrong way instead. The worst example of this is I think when soldiers don't walk past your vehicle unless you're moving, but when you move they get closer to the car and you eventually run them over.
Are there many other full playthroughs of the mission you've found on YT? I'm curious if many other people had the patience to complete the entire mission haha
Thanks! These are pretty old videos now but there's two complete solo series on this mission on the channel as well as plenty of other A3 missions if you wanted to see more of what I did on this game.
@@JackArden I’m learning a lot about this mod from watching your videos . I have about 7000 hrs in arma3 mostly koth and exile . I’m enjoying the aimbots in this mod as apposed to the dumb down ai you find on most servers .

I appreciate your support, thank you. My more recent videos are definitely much better quality than these earlier entries in my antistasi series, so I hope you enjoy those too!
Hey Jack, me and my friends have started an antistasi play through (the 3 of us) We spent a few days figuring out controls (first time Arma 3) and I was wondering if you knew what a good way would be to gain money easily in this game, and what missions would be appropriate for our skill level
The best way to get money would be through passive income from towns supporting you. Missions like support, logistics and assassination would be the best as support gives you the best rewards (mainly town support) and the other two are very easy. Logistics usually just needs you to jump into a transport and drive away (or get blown up) and assassination just needs you to kill one person and it doesn't matter if you die past that.
Probably not, I'm not really interested in A3 anymore, I've done just about everything I'd want to play several times now. Maybe in the future when A4 finally comes out I'll play that though!
So when you zero your weapon is there another way to do it instead of page down or a specific number? It won’t let me use assault rifles and zero below 350m
Are you using the same kind of AK I was there by any chance? I believe the lowest zeroing setting is 350m, so you actually have to zero it UP to get anything lower, so you go up from 350m to 100m. It's weird I know
Jack Arden I didn’t know if it could go any lower we are monitoring the drive to make sure it works for a few days before I bring it back so I haven’t had time to try and specifically try and see if anything is different with the zeroing. I’ll look and check tomorrow when I can.
It's a really good development on the capture the island game mode. If you like this, you'll probably think Overthrow is revolutionary. It's the same sort of CTI environment but so much more in depth with economies, resource gathering/processing and factories, local police and gang battles and so much more.
Zeroing is the range at which the bullet should be expected to hit square in the middle of the sights before dropping below where you're aiming. For example, you might zero a rifle to 300m- wherever you aim, the bullet should reasonably hit directly where your sights line up. Before 300m, the bullet will hit high, past 300m the bullet will drop and hit low. It's used commonly alongside a rangefinder so that you can aim easier at a target over a long distance without having to compensate for bullet drop.
I didn't want to run out of money to get vehicles early on (walking everywhere isn't exactly good content) so I went with easy for the extra resources. AI difficulty is managed by both the game options (my AI is a bit over average difficulty) and increases over time with the aggression counter since they deploy steadily better soldiers as this increases.
Yes you can save your progress. Go to the noticeboard in your base then open the game options, there is a button there to make a persistent save. Next time you start the mission, you have the option to load your last save.

I'm unsure of the game version as this was quite a while back, but I'm using 1.3.5 Antistasi and the RHS mods were from the collection available on the steam workshop, the USAF, GREF and AFRF ones in particular. @@JackArden Antistasi 1.3.5? Well that explains a lot since I'm using 1.8.0 and there's no scenario selection at the beginning (i.e REB vs GOV vs INV) or anything and the "aggression' meter is now "support" meter. I was worried that I installed something wrong and broke the mod
That's mostly right, Barbolani was still involved in the 1.8 branch, however those versions of the mod were abandoned due to instabilities. Barbolani imported the warlords of the pacific mod to start a new branch of this mission, which is the one I played in this series.
Welp I guess that explains some wonky AI or menu behaviors. I also noticed significantly lower civilian spawn rate, that might have something to do with the Antistasi mod as well ain't it?
I'm glad my content has helped you out! As far as I know, releasing POWs only reduces aggression from the appropriate faction, though you lower the reputation of the opposition by taking out their soldiers anyway
Can you save games when playing Anistasi as a single player? Im unable to find any indication that I can do this and after playing for 12 hours, it would be a shame to have to start all over again for my next session
Yes, go to your map/clipboard in your base and open the options. You can do a persistent save from there. Antistasi doesn't support the standard save system due to the way it's structured
Sorry for the late reply! I can't speak for the community version since I haven't given it a long playthrough before, but you can find the version of the mission I'm playing in the description of this video (or any Antistasi video on the channel)
Can anyone help with this issue: My map seems to not be working the same as what it does within this video, i.e, there are no red circles around enemy controlled places. What other mods do I need, or can someone offer a solution please
The red circles only appear in the setup of the mission, where you pick your starting location. They are supposed to act as a guide for where is and isn't safe to set up. Once you close the map by either picking a base location or closing it to keep the default location, red circles won't appear anymore.
Great Video and series , I just wonder wich Antistasi you are playing and which version to use today? There is an offial version from steam workshop nearly 1 year old than 1.8.0 from last year and than there is an 1.9.1.3d around. you are also referring to 1.9 somewhere? Thanks for help
The version I'm using is linked in the description of all my antistasi videos, so if you follow that link you'll be using the same one I am. The 1.8 version was an abandoned branch, the mission file was reverted back to 1.0 so that it was more stable and had fewer bugs, then development started back on top of it. We're currently at 1.3.5 in the main branch, with 1.4 to be released sometime in the future. The 1.9 version is a revival of the 1.8 branch by some of the old developers of antistasi. It's not yet on a full release, though it's possible to build the pre-release files into a mission. I think I'd recommend you play 1.3.5 (the version I'm using, again in the description of all the videos in this series) because it's the most up to date version on a full release.

Not a mod, that's part of the base game. It often gets turned off by accident with custom difficulty settings, so check your parameters to see if anything's disabled it.
To interact with objects you usually use your scroll wheel, so moving HQ objects is done by scrolling on them to "move asset". Giving orders to AI is done using the function keys (F1, F2 etc) at the top of the keyboard and then scrolling in the new menu which appears to pick the order you want to give. Some orders change based on what you are looking at. The mission menu is opened by scrolling over Petros (the NPC in your HQ) and opening the menu from your scroll options like you did with moving HQ objects. I have a couple guides up for antistasi which go into these kinds of things in more detail if you think they would be useful for you: Antistasi quick start guide- ua-cam.com/video/3iA1-RR9iuo/v-deo.html Antistasi AI tutorial- ua-cam.com/video/E_B15ia908M/v-deo.html
No, I play without ACE whenever possible- I only use it if it's a dependency. If you plan on playing this version of the mission with ACE, you'll need to either delete the medical module files or find a version without the medical modules as it breaks Antistasi
The weapons I'm using in this playthrough are from the RHS modpacks, you can find the full suite of them here- steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=843770737 These mods replace the factions in the mission, therefore the equipment you'll loot from them also. If you're using ACE, remember you need ACE compatibility packs for every mod you use in the RHS collection. USAF, GREF and AFRF are supported by default in this version Antistasi.
This is a great video, and your voice is so damned silky smooth and soothing. Also can I point out, the "most realistic modern shooter" has worse ai and squad controls that ghost recon wildlands. And that was a piece of shiet to control ye squad.
The AI can definitely be quite complicated, they're "good" in the sense that they can headshot someone stood in thick foliage from 3km out with nothing but a 9mm pistol but they're not the easiest to get used to controlling- that's for damn sure.
If you spend some time with them, doing little Sandboxy-Openworld scenarios and sht and getting used to the controls they actually become semi-alright to easy to control and become really neat-0 to use.
If you're using any mods which alter AI behaviour or change the medical system it will conflict with the mission file's custom handling of these things. Antistasi recommends you play with ACE, however ACE is not compatible with antistasi and will force you out of the mission; which is what I assume your conflicting mod is. I am playing with the following mods enabled: Advanced movement - Allows for enhanced vaulting mechanics such as climbing over fences, climbing up small ledges, running jumps over fences etc. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=333310405 RHS: united states armed forces (USAF) - adds a lot of new vehicles, weapons and gear based on the US military and replaces the USAF troops, vehicles and loadouts in Antistasi steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843577117 RHS: armed forces of the Russian federation (AFRF) - adds a lot of new vehicles, weapons and gear based on the Russian military and replaces the AFRF troops, vehicles and loadouts in Antistasi steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843425103 RHS: GREF - expands on the USAF and AFRF mods by adding fictional and real vehicles, weapons and gear based on many independent factions around the world. Replaces the resistance troops, vehicles and loadouts in Antistasi steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843593391
@@JackArden ACE is compatible, You just have to disable ACE medical in the options. Also, great work on the video! Edit: Also, m4a1 block 2 is not broken, downed enemies always take more shots to kill than normal enemies, and when they are surrendering during the animation they are invicible. I use this gun during my antistasi play through and I haven't had any problems with it.
@@czapeusz1858 Are you sure they're invincible while surrendering? I'm fairly certain I've killed a few surrendering enemies "accidentally". @@JackArden No problem ^^ Sorry for my late reply too, and I'm 75% sure that while they are putting thier weapons away and hands behind thier heads they are invicible, but when the animation ends and they are standing there they become mortal again, I will test it tho, and regarding the ACE medical you can disable it when entering the game and the turn it back on, antistasi will work but you will have to restart the game every time you get killed since ACE medical will break the respawn feature. Have a great day!
Hi, great video, and entertaining series. I've been playing antistasi for myself for a while now but keep getting hammered by the cars with machineguns on them/mraps and the humvees, basically missions go wel but these vehicles absolutely annihilate my squad as soon as they have vision on us. Its extremely frustrating to succesfully do a tough mission and then instantly getting obliterated by a humvee. any tips?
You should have access to some basic AT launchers in your arsenal at the start of the game. You could take a couple teammates and give them launchers to help you with vehicles. They can only fire in one direction at a time so whoever isn't pinned can hit it. If you are using RHS and have disposable launchers, these are so light it's always worth packing a few per squad
@@JackArden Thanks for your reply, You are right, I allways take the mk4 with me, issue is not really that i can't destroy them. it's more the fact that they seemingly spawn, flank your location and hammering you down before/ at the time you spot them.
Ah sorry I didn't quite get that from the first comment. Best thing to keep in mind is where these vehicles spawn. QRFs spawn at enemy positions, meaning they can come down the road from any enemy controlled outpost/airbase/etc. When planning your operations, keep in mind the area the enemy is likely to counterattack from and take measures to meet this, such as laying mines on strips of road that a QRF is likely to travel on or by setting up scouts to spot these vehicles before they are in range. Just be sure not to make preparations too far away, because enemy movements can be simulated up to a certain distance before the vehicles actually spawn into the game.
No worries, I was sorting out today's uploads when you commented anyway. I've only played the beta of old man so far, I thought it was a pretty interesting mission and I'm going to play the full thing at some point
I've played a few hours of it, pretty fun taking out garrisons or patrols, can get a huge amount of gear pretty easily looting. Just stockpile and sell to the rebels lol.
Which version in specific are you talking about? I know the 1.8 version is rebels vs the Russian government with NATO support available though I'm not sure how you'd reverse the roles to fight NATO in that one- I haven't played around with this game's editor very much.
@@JackArden yeah i meant 1.8, I have looked everywhere and i cant find a way to fight nato instead of russians. Its a shame i like the nato guns more than russian ones
@@caden8255 I think that editing the mission file to replace the units yourself would be the only way in that case. You should be able to call in supply drops from NATO using your support points, with a higher support value dropping more equipment. I'm guessing this will contain a few rifles for you to use if you prefer those.
you might be getting wonky damage results due to how RHS models damage differently than vanilla / other mods. RHS weapons are basically only balanced against RHS armor unless you install compatibility mods.
Does Arma change the mods you set? Mine was WW2 on day one. Didn't hold any checkpints because my AI team kept killing each other rather than Not doing that. Day two, WW2 is over, It's vanilla weapons and tools, AI don't kill each other and the game is Hard as shit. Someone picks me off with an autorifle with a RDS after sponging 3 shots from a sniper so big it could kill a tree.
Loved the video and I can't wait to tuck into the series mate! What would your best piece of advice be to someone new to Antistasi, besides "Don't be shit" :P
Thank you! My best advice is don't be tempted to just kick the mission into all-out war early on. It's a really good idea to gain the support of several towns through missions first, this allows you to get a sensible starting income while at the same time not gaining aggression you can't offset easily. When you get past that point, target resource dumps and factories, then find ways to destroy enemy vehicles whenever possible (they'll come in the QRFs to your attacks so station AA and AT around the area, for example). A big mistake I see people make (including myself in this playthrough) is not getting a solid hold over the enemy's resources before trying to drain them of their overpowered attack forces, so you get massive tank columns and air strike forces coming every time you tickle an enemy soldier. Even when you consider the mission is balanced for 8 players, the QRFs can become ridiculously large!
I have found a way to break this game mode, if you have a low enough war level and aggression. You can just drive up to a crate with a tru k (assuming it’s not too far from the road) Load it into the truck and drive off with it no questions asked, you can do similar with towing vehicles however if you deploy tow ropes you’ll break incognito, so it’s recommended to have them deployed before you go incognito so you don’t get reported.
That's one I've used several times in my Antistasi content so far! In fact I think it was the first thing I did in the second series, the starting gear was a great help
If you dress full civilian and use a civilian pickup truck you can drive up to a Outpost ammo box and step out undercover while there is a full manned outpost and 2 extra squads around and they wont react to you loading crate and drive off with it while never breaking undercover. And by placing a offroad Lookout Post at a spot that allows fast travel you can then use that to fast travel back and forth between HQ and Spot to speed up farmning gear.
Well it's the session one of antistati. Can you tell me a really good assult rifle in RHS USAF faction which has good accuracy and less in weight with a decent amount of damage.
I think you might just want to stick with the M4 or M27 if that's what you're after. The USAF assault rifles are all pretty similar in terms of how quickly they'll drop someone as they all take the same ammunition and mostly the same modifications too. Anything with a higher damage output from that faction will use heavier ammo, like the EBR.
Sounds exciting, one thing to look out for is that this game is very CPU intensive, particularly for single-core processing. While a lot of budget or older processors may be good enough for most games, they likely won't give you a good experience with this one.
Antistasi isn't compatible with any AI mods, if you're using any you should try playing without them. There's a lot of custom AI scripting and so changing the way the AI works will cause those to break.
That depends on the type of AI you're using: Your personal squad- Press the function keys (f1, f2 etc) to highlight the units you want in the vehicle or press ` (above tab, below esc) to select them all. Look at the vehicle you want them to get in and then you'll have a new order appear on the order menu to tell them to get in the vehicle you're looking at. Select this with middle mouse, spacebar or left mouse- whichever you prefer to use for orders. High command units- Open high command (default is ctrl+space) and select the team with the function keys (f1, f2 etc). Stand next to the vehicle while looking at it then press Y to open antistasi's menu. Pick AI management and then the option which assigns the vehicle to the selected squad. It can be a bit awkward to get it to work, but keep trying and it'll assign the vehicle to that team when done correctly.
I'm not using a mod for a minimap, chances are that was just the GPS map you saw. Press ctrl+m with either a GPS/terminal in your inventory or while in a GPS-equipped vehicle
I’m glad that I’m not the only one dying to ridiculous circumstances early game. I seriously thought all the Irish left my body and my luck went to shit

@@JackArden thanks m8!

bro i loved this vid and I made me chuckle all the way through, the struggles of solo antistasi I feel your pain XD
This channel deserves more subs
Much appreciated!

"we seem to be good" while staring at 2 enemy combatants
Hey jack will we ever see Armia krajowa? With IFA3
Hmm I wonder if there's a similar mod based in America that has a similar concept to Red Dawn
After all these years of your video, it has urged my Arma itch. Installing it rn

Glad to be of use haha
how do you spawn with AKs and stuff? is that in a old update?
They're part of a mod called RHS. It'll be linked in the description if you want to try it out
This mod is incredible. Just incredible it's like a whole new game
It's a really good development on the capture the island game mode. If you like this, you'll probably think Overthrow is revolutionary. It's the same sort of CTI environment but so much more in depth with economies, resource gathering/processing and factories, local police and gang battles and so much more.
Very good video mate. Really enjoyable, wish your channel was doing better
Thank you! The channel has been steadily growing over time, so we'll see how it does in the future
Jack Arden good luck mate
is there a mod list that you used in this playthrow and are you gonna do another one
I played the 1.3.5 version of the mission with three RHS mods- USAF, AFRF and GREF. I also used enhanced movement
im rewatching your vids because im bored and 1 thing i needed to watch your vids!
Also what is zeroing? also do you want to play Vidicta?
Zeroing is the range at which the bullet should be expected to hit square in the middle of the sights before dropping below where you're aiming. For example, you might zero a rifle to 300m- wherever you aim, the bullet should reasonably hit directly where your sights line up. Before 300m, the bullet will hit high, past 300m the bullet will drop and hit low. It's used commonly alongside a rangefinder so that you can aim easier at a target over a long distance without having to compensate for bullet drop.
"Ahh we're all good here"
You can see USAF setting up in the lower right of the screen xD 32:44
What difficulty did you choose at the begining?
I didn't want to run out of money to get vehicles early on (walking everywhere isn't exactly good content) so I went with easy for the extra resources. AI difficulty is managed by both the game options (my AI is a bit over average difficulty) and increases over time with the aggression counter since they deploy steadily better soldiers as this increases.
@@JackArden thank you, your videos really got me going in antistasi. Keep them coming mate

@@acookiegimme4894 1.8 and 1.9 are actually legacy versions from another mod developer, thus the differences.

Can anyone help with this issue:
My map seems to not be working the same as what it does within this video, i.e, there are no red circles around enemy controlled places.

I'm trying to play pit I don't know how to move the hq stuff and how to talk to the AI hq stuff I can't get the missions menu up
To interact with objects you usually use your scroll wheel, so moving HQ objects is done by scrolling on them to "move asset". Is this asmr? With a little bit of spicey action? and can you tell me witch mods youre using
This series used Antistasi 1.3.5 with RHS USAF, AFRF and GREF. I'm also using advanced movement to vault/climb
@@JackArden thats all not ace or something else?
No, I play without ACE whenever possible- I only use it if it's a dependency. If you plan on playing this version of the mission with ACE, you'll need to either delete the medical module files or find a version without the medical modules as it breaks Antistasi
Hmmm... Why does it give you weapons like the AKMS and it gives me the Stinger SMG and DLC weapons that i can't use? :/
The weapons I'm using in this playthrough are from the RHS modpacks, you can find the full suite of them here- steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=843770737
These mods replace the factions in the mission, therefore the equipment you'll loot from them also.
If you spend some time with them, doing little Sandboxy-Openworld scenarios and sht and getting used to the controls they actually become semi-alright to easy to control and become really neat-0 to use.
what mod are u using im trying to play it but it is saying "incompatible mod" help me pls
If you're using any mods which alter AI behaviour or change the medical system it will conflict with the mission file's custom handling of these things. Antistasi recommends you play with ACE, however ACE is not compatible with antistasi and will force you out of the mission; which is what I assume your conflicting mod is. I am playing with the following mods enabled:
Advanced movement - Allows for enhanced vaulting mechanics such as climbing over fences, climbing up small ledges, running jumps over fences etc.
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=333310405
RHS: united states armed forces (USAF) - adds a lot of new vehicles, weapons and gear based on the US military and replaces the USAF troops, vehicles and loadouts in Antistasi
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843577117
RHS: armed forces of the Russian federation (AFRF) - adds a lot of new vehicles, weapons and gear based on the Russian military and replaces the AFRF troops, vehicles and loadouts in Antistasi
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=843425103
RHS: GREF - expands on the USAF and AFRF mods by adding fictional and real vehicles, weapons and gear based on many independent factions around the world. Replaces the resistance troops, vehicles and loadouts in Antistasi

how to capture city ??

Which mods do you have loaded in the launcher? The game won't change the mods you load unless you specifically change the ones selected
would be cool if they added an external funding mechanic where you can get external funding from BLUFOR or OPFOR factions
Is antistasi the only mod you're using here? Or are there more mods to get weapons like M16s?
The weapons/vehicles come from RHS. I'm using USAF, GREF and AFRF
@@JackArden what about the m4a1 Block II
If you like the look of that one, then sure. They're really not all that different due to using the same ammo
Hey man nice video. I was just wondering what are your pc specs in this video?

Thanks man!
I enjoyed this, I'm looking to purchase a new PC and this game soon to play this mode, looks like a lot of fun!
Sounds exciting, one thing to look out for is that this game is very CPU intensive, particularly for single-core processing. While a lot of budget or older processors may be good enough for most games, they likely won't give you a good experience with this one.
what mod is used for AI to help you my ones just stare at me?
Antistasi isn't compatible with any AI mods, if you're using any you should try playing without them. There's a lot of custom AI scripting and so changing the way the AI works will cause those to break.
@@JackArden thank you that will be why it aint working :)
i just got into this and i cant seem to get the ai to get into the truck how do you do that
That depends on the type of AI you're using:
Your personal squad- Press the function keys (f1, f2 etc) to highlight the units you want in the vehicle or press ` (above tab, below esc) to select them all.
