There is a faster method to separate the layers in Illustrator. Select the group layer, while the layer is selected go to the lines at the top right in the layers panel, then choose -release to layers (Sequences)- then you can select the layers and move them up or down the chosen layer.
Good video - the only thing that irked me and felt like bait, is you showed a really nice animation where the buildings extruded out and had that really cool reveal effect. Then it isn't in your video or in any of the videos you linked to unless I missed something.
Thank you! I’m doing that with an evolution of the Mexico City’s metro evolution trough history! So this will help me a lot to animate the metro map!! Thank you!!
Would be great to get an idea on how to animate the single elements (windows, etc.) - will it "just" be more ungrouping in the beginning to single out all the elements and start a lot of precomposing in After Effects?
Hey Jo, Thanks for this wonderful tutorial. It really helped me in my project. But I can't see the *Animation Composer tab* in my After effects, I am using the latest version AE 2020 only but i can't find it anywhere. Can you help me in that, please?
Hey Josh, great stuff as usual. I was thinking - why do you resize the objects with a Null in AFX instead of just resizing the Artboard in Illustrator to 1920 x 1080 and resizing the objects to fit the Artboard already in Illustrator. Any reason for that or just a preferred workflow? Thanks man
Hey friend I am from India. I am trying to use Adobe illustrator on phone but there is no option for these features like in your video. My question is does illustrator works better on pc?
Very cool. I must think of a way to use that in a future video. Where is your accent from by the way? I use lots of accents on my channel but still have a lot to learn about different parts of the US.
Xandercorp , actually, it is easy. Josh keeps these videos quick, clean, and concise. I’ve been working in After Effects for about 15 years and I love watching his channel for little tricks and inspiration. Now, to answer your question. ua-cam.com/video/JTPLEipgTpM/v-deo.html
