Finally a booktuber who actually uses their local library! I don’t understand why people buy them when they are at the library 🧐
yessss I try and get as many books as I can from the library!
I live in a non-English speaking country, therefore almost none of the popular books are at the library :// I read them as e-books tho, so I also dont buy them
i personally like to buy books to re read time and time again but i have a second hand book store that i try to buy from
So we can write in them and keep them if we want to❤️ also ur supporting authors when buying & there’s already such long waits on popular books so if you can buy it why not 🤷🏻♀️

2. Not everyone has local libraries near where they live
I was worried to read the song of achilles too but it treats the mythology in the book as if it is its own story, as in it explains everything just like any other fiction book, so you don't need to know anything about greek mythology before reading it. It's one of my fave books, hope you enjoy it!
I read just over 60 pages of it and i didn’t understand like any of it, does it get more understandable after that?

Also if you enjoyed midnight library you’ll probably like before the coffee gets cold, it’s a little different but the same ‘unrealistic’ compartment without it being to unrealistic to imagine:)

Before you read Malibu Rising go check out Daisy Jones and the Six also by Taylor Jenkins Reid. These two books as well as the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo are all set in the same universe with the common factor being the character Mick Riva(whose family is what Malibu Rising is about). I personally also felt the same way about the Seven Husbands but Daisy Jones was AMAZING!! I literally loved it so much. Anyways thanks for coming to my TED talk lol.

2:00 dont worry about greek mythology at all! everything you need to know is explained, tbh it wont even feel unknown, at the end you also have short descriptions of characters that are mentioned if you ever get lost cuz there are quite a few names. the writing style is just phenomenal yet simple. i loved this book so i hope you’ll like it too
You should make Verity your next Colleen Hoover read! It’s sooooo good! Disturbing but good. I still think about the ending months after I finished it. 🤔😂

I loved the song of achilles, it’s one of my favorite books. i went into the book with no expectations and no knowledge about greek mythology. it’s a beautiful book. if i could experience reading a book again for the first time, that would be the book

Love the mini-summaries of the books you give. A lot of books I get recommended I just add to my Goodreads and base off of the very vague description on the back of the book. (didn't even know what "The Song of Achilles" was about, but knew I wanted it from the little I had read about it.)

Great video! I’m also looking at getting song of archilles and was a bit skeptical whether I’ll enjoy the Greek mythology but I’ve heard so many great reviews of it so it’s on my wish list.
I finished all your perfects yesterday and girl that book is an absolute rollercoaster of emotions but it’s so freaking worth it! It was my 7th book of 2022 and my second best book so far I absolutely love it!

Maybe Someday was the first book I read of Hoovers and I’m pretty hard to impress when it comes to romance, it doesn’t tend to be my style, but that book blew me away. If you’re not a fan of love triangles, I found that specific trope to be a little one-sided, landing more in the favor of the reader in my opinion.
I love the song of Achilles I also thought I wasn't going to like it but i was wrong. I'm currently reading Circe and I'm enjoying it too. I totally recommend it too!
I read Achilles last year and just read Circe the other day and I love them both so much 😭😭

Ok if your going to read Song of Achilles then I would read it with the audiobook bc it makes it so much better and I have dyslexia and had a hard time reading some of the words so it helped a lot and make the experience 10 times better

I just finished the song of Achilles. I liked it but didn’t love it. I think I had too high expectations and that destroyed it a bit. So just go in with no expectations and no pressure to like it ( like no need to like it). Just enjoy the read and chill down, than it’s a wayyy better I guess. So have fun to read it…

The yellow stripe on the spine are library books and they are borrowed from the library so I will have to return them in a few weeks (unless no one has a hold on them after me then I can renew them longer!).

the song of achillies was good and the mythology was easy to understand but to me it genuinely wasnt sad and i didnt feel anything
If you’re on a ya mystery book kick, I totally recommend Natalie D. Richards! She has some great ya mystery/thriller books with a nice sub genre of romance in them! All the books I’ve read by her have been 4/5 stars so far :)

I will say as much as I love song of Achilles there is definitely parts that could have been better but you don’t have to know a lot about Greek mythology or like Greek mythology a ton to enjoy it

Maybe Someday is not a good book. 😬 I don’t recommend. The writing is amazing cause it’s Hoover but I didn’t like any of the characters or the plot which was sad because I had high hopes. You should still give it a shot tho, just don’t go into it with high expectations. 🧡

(also the song of achilles is probably even better than the harry potter books, i find it better written, it’s clearly not as original as harry potter, because it is greek mythology. but as a HUGE harry potter marauders era fan, the song of achilles is better)

I absolutely hated the alchemist which I read a few years ago so my memory is foggy on it but nevertheless, I remember reading this one quote about the female love interest regarding the main man protagonist: your destiny and purpose is to wait for him and serve//support him (something along those lines) and that just put me over the edge. The representation of Muslim people and Islam was also so inaccurate and appalling it felt as if Paulo did zero research before writing about the Muslim character and the entire book felt like a mash of Pinterest quotes with palm tree wallpapers in the background. You can give it a try but I wouldn’t ever recommend it.
I'm trying to get into Colleen Hoover. She tells a really good, unique story, but in the three books of hers, the endings were never as amazing as the rest of the book. It Ends With Us was all about little details and is my favorite CoHo book, but I hated Ugly Love. Not trying to spoil anything, but incest isn't really my thing and I'm not sure why Ugly Love is hyped up so much...
