- Thanks to Greg for the day of hosting me and letting me get my hands on his excellent FPV lab. Thanks also to one of My Patreons, Chris, for checking the content too.
Be aware that you need to check that any frequency you intent to use is legal where you fly. For the UK Band E is a problem (see www.ofcom.org.... and page 78 - handbook.bmfa.org/
)

This is what makes RC flying so facinating.Every day is a school day.
I've run into this before and never realized what was happening. Great info!
Oh man, this is so helpful! We have about a half dozen guys locally and on the rare occasions we get more than two of us out together there's always weird stuff. Arguing over people on wrong channels and suspicion of those of us with cheap vtxs... This could explain so much.
Very helpful video, are these occurencies similar to harmonics?
Yes, a Menace Band !! :) Will bring these numbers to my next "with-friend flight day" ;) Thx !
Great content guys!! RF technical content is something that is really been missing.. I really appreciate not only your efforts but also the boys at menace!!
I used to use the akk fx2 on E4, then because of my friends I started using R1, and for the first time I had interferences and even occasional blackouts. Thanks for sharing it was very helpful
Excellent video which will force a rethink on the VTx frequencies our group uses.
This is why this is one of my go to channels, great information as always Lee.
How wonderful to have the right equipment! Thanks very much!!
Can't wait for the other antenna videos you announced at the beginning of the year.
Great info guys!
Our group has been flying imd6c for the last year with great success. Prior to that we had been using Raceband and alternating lhcp and rhcp to fend off interference...imd6c was life changing.....lot less frustration on the flight line:-)
Great summary of why just numerical separation of frequencies is not enough. Thanks.
This is great info.. We normally just run the Raceband channels, but now I see there are better alternatives!
Keep the FPV antenna and frequency vids coming! Great stuff!
Great info!!! I screen shot the recommended channels and bands and will recomened my Buddy's to follow these guidelines when flying together.
A lot of useful information! Thanks a lot for collecting and publishing this.
I have noticed it as well and even on 3 racers with rapidfire even a few instances of serious snow you just answered my question
This is a very interesting series. Great video, thanks for the information. Can't wait for the next in the series!
I just love your antenna videos lately, they are ground breaking developments in the fpv world. Keep up the great work
This video series is really outstanding, good job!
Very interesting phenomenon, I wasn't aware of that. Thank you both for this great content.
Fantastic information, we have a whoop race tomorrow at a place we had issues with last time. I'll definitely suggest we give it a try!
Very interesting. I appreciate the info and the band list you created. I'm going to pass this vid around to the peeps in my club.
fantastic video,we need this, keep up the good work guys. Looking forward for the update on this video as well as others videos.
Very insteristing video, i took a picture of the freq and we will try it the next time 4 or 5 folks get together in the field.
This fpv series has been fascinating. Thank you for making the effort!
Great series! I'm thinking it might be interesting to also know the axial ratio for the antennas that we're tested previously, and how big of a difference it makes in practice. Thanks for all the great info!
I did not know that band E was illegal in the UK. Thanks for pointing that out!
Thanks for the information, I've got my screen shots printed out for future use.
Amazing!you continue to suprise with your content and are still one of my go to sources for info and how tos'
Thanks for the great info. Looking forward to future vids.
This happened to me over the weekend. I was on R4 and i was picking up R6. I switched to R8 and ended up picking another channel. We were all trying to use all the raceband channels so that all eight of us can race at the same time.
I enjoyed both this and the preceding video. I hope it leads to better reception.
Please keep these videos coming. Awesome information and quality format! Thank you for making them!
Great video! Appart from my friends I fly LHCP instead of RHCP, so I experience less interference on race band.
Good to keep in mind at busy spots!
Awesome video, looking forward to an update
Thanks a lot for very informative video.
I have know about interference and now you got me to pull out some of my old code to try and build another tool for pilots to use.
Great video explains a lot. Thanks Lee & Greg
Fascinating- I’d love the antennae
Once again fantastic info, would love to have the time to research these things on my own. As luck would have it I don't have that time but I do have informative videos like this series to answer questions I may have now or in the future. Thank you for the fantastic content.
This is super work, Guys. The information is fantastic. Thank you
Loved the video, I've got all my friends right onto it :) had a fair few people drop out of the air from this kinda thing in the past. Thankyou!
Very informative info! I’d love to see more on using the Immersion RC rf meter to see total lose of signal on common setups for FPV!
Great video love the info. I organize a mulitiGP chapter and will use this video to help explain how thing work!
Keep up the fantastic work, learning all the time
Great and usefull information. That's the antennas I'm using and would be great to get another set. Thank you.
Great info Lee! Keep up the great work! 👍
Top Info for when I find someone to fly with! Great informative video as always.
Nice Testing!!!
👍😀👍
I often wonder what anntena work's best when flying with or around others!!!!
Great video, amazing information. Big thanks to both for sharing this information 🤗🤗😀👍
Great information, look forward to the next updates🤙🏻
4:59 - Happened exactly the same with us :o Thanks for the freqs, we will test is out as soon as possible :)
Definitely useful information I was not aware of. Thank you
Brand New set of race frequencies is most definitely the answer for moving forward.
Great presentation of a hard to understand subject. Thanks Guys :)
Thanx for the great explanation guys! Much appreciated.
This video came along just as our group in Wiltshire used the race band only and came across some interference issues. A new race band for ease of group flying in UK sounds interesting.
Really enjoying this set of videos. Very informative.
This is great information. My club moved away from Raceband last year for this reason. I had to upgrade my module so that I can change bands without pulling the module out and changing dip switches though. I didn't realise E band was out of the UK legal range. I haven't used it myself though which is good. A new band would be great! Thank you
Great find...awesome work gentlemen
Great info, i'll print this off for future reference thank's
This would explain some trouble we had. Great information
That explains why there's a ghost channel. Another great video on antenna. Thanks.
Many thanks for yet another great video!
This explains so much, so often we have experienced this. 👍 Fantastic info thank you! Go team Menace!!!!!
Good info ! Many happy flights !!
Well this video explains problems I've been having, thank you
not something ive encountered being a "billy no mates" flyer, but notes taken. nice one
Great giveaway, I use menace products on nearly all of my quads and planes .
Great series Lee
Thank you..very Informative...not just for racers...
totally geeking out on this! thanks!
Really useful video and also the linked calculator at etheli should be really useful for multiple flight/race venues.
Thank you for this very useful information.
Painless360 brilliant info thanks guys for all your hard work. ive taken a screen shot of the list. It was very interesting 👍🏽😊
Pretty eye opening. Thanks mate.
Hi another great video with some really good information I will be using I with my friends when flying
Great video, it is to bad the UK has such small feq. ranges. keep up the good work and having fun fling.
Appreciate the info on IMD!
Very interesting! We definitely need a new band
Great video and great info. Here in the US we use the imd6c standard with the group I fly with. Have you considered doing some of this ind testing while intermixing lhcp and rhcp antennas?
Possibly, that may help but it's for a future video when the series is getting into the next level of detail.. Happy flying!
Once again this is great content Lee
Great video! Explains why the frequencies we run in our competitions in Sweden is called IMD 6c, as you pointed out in the end of your video the regular IMD6 is also outside of our legal range in Sweden and actually not compatible with the newer unify receivers if I'm not mistaken?
Thanks a lot! Great job! I'll try it with my mates.
Yet again....I learnt something. Thanks
Another useful and informative vid. Thanks
Loving these antenna vids.
Great info! Really need that new band!
Good watch we have this same problem most weeks at our meet
I agree, a new set of frequencies is needed. I always flew E8 but that's one of the frequencies that has been blocked on VTX's sold in the US. I think I may give R6 or 3 a go and see how it is and that may become my new goto. I noticed non of the F channels were on his list.. curious.
Is it possible to meassure which of the most common used receiver-modules is more or less prone to the IMD-problem ? Maybe the manufacturers will optimize if this is more in focus. It is great to see objective measurements to show what is going on.
That's some really interesting stuff there. Surely someone will write a small program to work out the best set given the legal set of channels. Also, to work out the best set of frequencies for a new channel set given an upper and lower frequency bound.
I had this at Delta Hawks last year. I always use RB5 and have a custom made antenna to 5800. On RB1 I was getting an awful signal. Near unflyable. I put a Menace RC antenna on my goggles and all was good. I think these ghost channels also run with what frequency your antenna is tuned to.
Very interesting discovery!
Thank you for sharing.
Great topic! Unfortunately, TBS has blocked E4(5645) E7(5925) and E8 (5945) on their latest VTXs. (Unless there is a Second unlock function I don't know about.) may need to rework the chart to find other options.
Count me in! Nice vid as always 🙂
Great video! This'll help a ton when I'm rippin with my mates, thanks!
Fantastic info! Thanks a lot!!! 😃
One again , good video full of interesting stuff.
Great and understandable explanation as always👍
