Amazing work here Bill. I’m amazed how you find such haute horology timepieces in a overhyped market for under 10k. If you look closer, I mean closer, there truly is a lot of value in the market that is overlooked everyday.
Schwarz Etienne makes very cool watches lately, I really like the Voutilainen one the most. I think they will blow up in prices as in all the similar examples. Thanks, Bill.
Thanks Bill, another brilliant piece. I’ve been watching Schwarz Etienne for a while now, they have been producing some excellent pieces. I particularly like the guilloche dials on the Roma face as well as the attention to detail on the movements.
Hi James, they do have some nice dials, but I was beguiled by the finger bridges lined up like a breaking wave ... I'm always a sucker for a good looking movement running at 21,600 vph or less. Take care, Bill
Schwarz Etienne was at Dubai Watch Week this year and my god - the Kari Voutilainen is stunning. I put it next to the normal Roma and the difference in the dials and movement decoration is just crazy.
@@watchartsci Thankfully there is no selling at DWW - so you can look and play around as much as you like (and speak to everyone) but to buy you would need to hop into the closest mall and find their boutiques. I just got a SkyDweller (my only Rolex) so my watch finds we’re depleted before DWW thankfully. I would have bought a Moser, that SE, a Czapek and the limited edition Girard-Perregaux 😂
It's a bit of a concern they're selling new at well below the MSRP, but if they become the next big thing someone could make a bit of money on these. It's easy to forget that up till recently you could get many Lange's at well below list, but now they've shot up and some are almost impossible to obtain. I managed to buy a then $48K list Grand Lange 1 Moonphase brand new from a major AD for just $30K, and now they're selling pre-owned at $45K against a current list price of S50K.
Hi David. What you say is true, and what is a bargain today is even more of a bargain in the future if you had bought when the price was low. By focusing on the horology instead of the popularity generally puts us all ahead of the game. That's why I wanted to showcase Schwarz Etienne watches in terms of both dial and movement. I believe that the connection with Voutilainen will bring the brand to the notice of collectors, but the movements will ultimately make them a brand worth having. Take care, Bill
FP Journe was sold with discounts initially too. I was able to get an OP39 in 2019 with 10% discount from Rolex. Haha. These times are over for these brands. At least currently.
Awesome UA-cam!! Great watches which I have always liked. Thank you for going over. Didn’t know about a couple of those models. The brand will break out. Love the tourbillon. I have looked at the Kari Voutilainen which I really like! Found one at a Denver CO jeweler. Nice video mate 🥃
There's another interesting "Poor Man's Voutilainen", and that's the Voutilainen x Leijona collaboration. The watches have basic Sellita movements, but the cases and dials come from Voutilainen's factories, and the assembly is done also by the Voutilainen workshop. Finishing in my opinion is exceptional for the price (2500-5000 €). Edit: There is a short video about the Motiers limited edition on my channel, in case you are interested.
Leigh, I agree about the Fuji; especially the one with the black dial: www.schwarz-etienne.ch/en/watch/fiji-floral-seconds-wfi15ma01ss01aa/ With the kaleidoscope small seconds you could hypnotize the entire town of Frackin' Gulch! Take care, Bill
The Rosewell reminds me somewhat of the Breguet Tradition. The Voutilainen definitely reminds me of the Marine Master somewhat, I do like that 27k pricetag for what would be considered a true masterpiece.
Yes, I hadn't thought of that, MrV, but you're right. The 'Irreversible' and the Breguet Tradition do have much in common. As for the 27k SE+KV ... not sure. Take care, Bill
Wise movement base=less inventory to support. I can’t remember who else did something a bit similar (common movement base), but they were also(obviously)from Swiss. The Chaux-de-fond region have always excelled in horology, as Val de Joux (Valjoux) and other cantons 👌❤️👍 Bill: I think you have direct contact with the horology gods🤷🏻♂️ to be able to find the needle in the hay stack 💎👌❤️👍 All the best, John

Hi Bill, Thanks for bringing these horology gems. I get frustrated when I get interested in one of these, only to learn it's 42mm or larger. I look like a little boy wearing his father's watch when I go above 40mm.
Hi Wash. Fan! Giant or tiny watches are no help at all. I range between about 38-42 with my favorite at 39-40mm. I admire guys with smaller wrists who can wear a 34-36mm watch. That's where the best buys are! Take care, Bill

Another nice video. It seems that reputation dictates the overall sell price & value of some of these high horology pieces. Why for example do brands like H Moser, Czapek sell for much more when one could argue that the degree of workmanship, quantities made aren't that much different among this tier
H. Moser is, Newton, and it took a long time for them to get the respect they deserve. For years, they have great movements are are responsible for the hairspring in many of the top watches. Exceptional horology. Take care, Bill
The Rona KV looks stunning but if you see how the regular Roma trades at a serious discount, I can't help but think it's overpriced by about 10k. Otherwise, maybe could have been an investment piece. Any thoughts on whether this one will go up in value or just crash down ?
I think I have one ... close anyway. Not so bad, but I can see the problem with medium sized wrists. Myself, I like between 38-42 ... 39-40 being the sweet spots. With a name like , 'Time Is A Human Construct' sounds like someone has been reading Henri Bergson.😉 Take care, Bill
