I remember seeing your Gameplay Overview for Veilwraith in a hotel in Atlanta pre-COVID...not sure why but your new playthrough takes me back to that hotel room a million years ago. Also, quick shoutout how you went from the last moment in the Killforth series (Veilwraith) to the first one (Kreel Manor.) Pretty cool and thematic. :)
Yeah, pre-COVID seems like a different world now. Thanks for following all these million years, and for your kind words - hope to see you on Kickstarter tomorrow my friend. :)
Let me get this straight, the Wolf of the North lost to Lord of Kreel Manor. Due to this the Lord released the gloom onto Kilforth also releasing the Ancients. Canje and I lost too many times in Kilforth and that caused the rendering. Veilwraith begins and the Archfiend approaches! I ain’t sure it ever ends well 🤣 “Fools! Fools, all of you give praise to the Ancients whilst you still can!” Also extremely excited for this!
Hi Tristan, this looks awesome! Couple questions on how the campaign system works. Every campaign is 5 scenarios long, each using some combination of the 10 available scenarios? And each character/hero has access to some unique skill, story, and asset cards (in addition to the "common" skill/asset cards)?
Instant buy for me! Looks wonderful! However, if my broadsword asset could only be used twice in a scenario, I think I'd have a word (or several) with my blacksmith!
I haven't read the rulebook (yet?), but do I correctly understand the "wound" mechanics that if I fail the scenario the next scenario will be even harder technically spiraling into an unbeatable game? Have you considered a different approach that a failed scenario will make the next game easier and won scenario makes the next one harder? I think I encountered this mechanics in a different solo game and it made the difficulty to be balanced out by itself.
Yes, I believe you understand the wound rules correctly. There is an option to ignore Wounds for easier games if required. I've played numerous games that reward failure to artificially balance the game and it feels a bit cheap to me as you end up 'winning' no matter what. Personally, I prefer the idea of rewarding good play, whilst also giving players who fail another opportunity to redeem themselves without handing them a win on a plate. Maybe it comes from having a background in old school AD&D, which could be notoriously pretty difficult. That said maybe we could also add a variant that helps carry losing players through the game - I'll give it some thought. Thanks for your input. :)
Can I suggest having a version of this video without the music next time? I get the musical aspect is important for Hall or Nothing, but with my "neuro-atypicalness", I can't for the life of me concentrate on what you're saying in the video :(

Haha, you're pretty much bang on with your Kilforth future/history! 😁
Nice! Keen for this one and excited for the launch! As an avid solo player all I can say is "Yes" :)
You and me both! :)

Yes, exactly - you got it Fledge. :)

F@#K Tristan this looks great dam you and your brilliant (BUT HARDDDDD!) games
Might be a touch easier than Veilwraith, but you can always ramp up the difficulty again. :D

I'll add it to the To Do list - thanks for your feedback. :)
