Dr. Sarita Tasniwal case of Dibrugarh Medical College should be reopened. She too was a doctor who was killed within the hospital premises but she didn't get justice.
Very well said! If I remember correctly, she was also found in similar situation and the convicted was the compounder. However the Dr's family had accused a male colleague. The case was almost solved in the news, however, the police had acted in a similar way like the Bengal police are acting today.
Right now, the so called political leaders from upper Assam especially should be raising their voice in matters like these instead of other things which boost their ego
As it's a National issue and all over India doctors were involved in protest for safety reasons which Calcutta High Court couldn't have passed an order for this Concern.
The Kolkata High Court is one of the most efficient courts in India. Just look at how their judgements. CJI is has some soft corner for Mamata Banerjee. So this is expected.
CjI is correct and impartial . Those who are doing hue and cry they have got vested interest in it .Centre will not allow any state to excel and at the same time they do nothing for the people and always hunt the efficient honest leaders and plan for collecting the money from all

Supreme Court’s intervention in the matter surely undermines the Kolkata High Court. We the Bengalis are quite happy with Kolkata High Court’s response to many such issues.
The move by SC is well appreciated & is in the interest of the citizens of India to keep law & order in place . 👍
Suo Moto actions by Supreme Court is good but the High Court was taking strong actions against the West Bengal Government.
The Kolkata HC did not appear compromised in all its hearings till now it did appear very critically right add correct.
Weather taking suo Moto action by the supreme court the West Bengal government will be held accountable as severely as it should be remains to be seen and will be an indictment on the chief justice and the supreme court themselves.
The fact that the supreme court was silent and did not take Suo Moto actions during Sandeshkhali and on the genocide of Hindus in the post-election Bengal leading to large migrations into Assam, Bihar, etc statea, is definitely and indictment against the present Chief Justice and the Supreme Court led by him as an equal or otherwise.
That is why the present Suo Moto action appears biased.
Not India alone the World is watching what the nepotistic Judiciary of India will deliver to it's paymasters- justice, injustice or partial justice, while Law-Chakra type channels will try and slant public opinions in favour of the left and anti-India opposition.
Hc judge also seems negatively biased ... In emotion one should not lose the temper... Hard punishment should be given .. after fair trail... The Kolkata High court is the best court in India. It is famous for it's very quick response and prompt judgements. In R G Kar medical College and hospital 's Abhaya's rape and murder case, it took no time understand inefficiency of Kolkata police and handed the the case to CBI for investigation.
Kapil sibal what happened to you sir. Why you are taking wrong case? Don't support the criminal. You have a give account to God . Don't be mad of Money sir. Don't spoil your reputation.

I am fully in support of the view that supreme court shouldn't have taken the sou motu cognizance because the Bengal High court was moving in the right direction and it's not a case of protection of doctors during duty, but it was a simple case of a ladies safety at workplace perhaps anywhere outside home. The worst part is politicisation of the gruesome act of rape and murder, moreover the role of the police the hospital management and the state machinery is in doldrums. It appears the case is moving in the way Sushant Singh Rajputs murder mystery. Sad very sad.
Suomoto cognisance is a great step taken by the SC. The direction given is also very forward looking.

In my opinion SC should take such decisions as lower courts are being influenced by the politicians or the crooked advocates.
We may not like it but that's how the judiciary system is set up. So Kapil Sibal is just doing his duty. it's not easy on the conscience to do a job under the circumstances,

He is not there defending the accused in this case. He is there as a representative of the state government. He is there to ensure to lay down the facts as they happened and were not twisted in any step.
The job of the defense lawyer is to make the prosecuting lawyer prove that the accused is in fact guilty.

Suo moto action by the Supreme court is commendable, because the HC was already in the pocket of the government and only SC could deliver justice in this case. It was like going to wakf board for the property wakf board itself claimed. Further, some HC in India are so out of senses, and so out of touch with reality that they give up to 2 year leave for maternity, not any developed country in the history of countries has done that ever, but our mahanubhavs did that.
SC as the head of justice in India is creating a system of able leadership, responsibility and accountability by "delegating upon itself" the national issue of protection of nyaya and dharma in India in one of the greatest attacks on humanity and Indian conscience, where any fault could lead to cascading losses going into decades. Instead SC can create the means for landmark judgements and reforms which is the need of the hour for a common man to gain faith back in the system, and for criminals to feel some(iota) sort of deterrence. Currently the whole system is might is right, and cunning is better than honest - because we lack adequate rules, or the rule of the law(enforcement), and all the intermediaries of justice have a price.
And those who are questioning SC doing suo moto action, get some commonsense knocked into your mind and do some critical thinking, and stop chasing western ideals of democracy and Judiciary, but look at what is pragmatic for India as a nation and people of India. Further, only SC has the sliver of capacity of handling the inured and indentured warlord and messiah of hardened criminals Sibal.
This is not the case SC is doing for TRP, that case was the electoral bonds case where it was dealing with some for a mid-life crisis and trying to show itself as churlishly as a "Me too exist" kind of a propaganda to deal with its own existential crisis and perceived irrelevance in general. And if SC was back then in any way responsible for the democracy or any kind of governance and administration of merit in India, then it would have prevented the electoral bonds bill right in the bud, via suo moto action, but it waited years for the moment of highest TRP.
In this case however, it is coming out clean with right intentions, because this time they have to deal with the embodiment of Kaliyug directly. The test is not of SIbal, the test of Justice CJ, about how will he come out of the chakravuyh of the brotherhood/sisterhood of evil. The informed minority of criminals will always have a significant edge over the majority good people. And this time it comes with 21 more hyenas in the pack who have sold their soul as well.
