- We set-up and review the FK Irons Spektra Flux wireless tattoo machine and talk you through its features.
The Spektra Flux follows on from the popular Xion rotary and marks the first wireless tattoo machine from the guys behind FK Irons and DarkLab.
Powering the FK Irons Spektra Flux is a detachable battery known as a PowerBolt, which allows artists to run their machine wirelessly without the need for cables or power supplies. As it's interchangeable, you can quickly and easily switch to an auxilliary battery (sold separately) when the charge runs out.
It offers fast charging speeds of up to 1.5 Amps and a run time lasting up to 10 hours, depending on the type of cartridge and voltage used.
The FK Irons Spektra Flux is Bluetooth-enabled, which means that you can pair it with DarkLab's Hover power supply and app. You can use the DarkLab app to wirelessly update the Flux with the latest firmware, making it future-proof.

Hey guys, Liam from Killer Ink here, and today I’m giving you a first look at the new Spektra Flux.
The Flux is Spektra’s latest rotary machine and is set to bring a wireless revolution to the tattooing industry.
So let’s take a look…
Following on from the popular Xion and Xion Gorilla, the Spektra Flux is a rotary tattoo machine that features a detachable battery, known as a PowerBolt.
The beauty of the PowerBolt is that it allows artists to run their Flux wirelessly without the need for cables or power supplies. As it’s interchangeable, you can quickly and easily swap to another PowerBolt when the charge runs out, so you can keep working on your tattoo with no problems. The running time lasts up to 10 hours, but this will depend on the type of cartridge and voltage used.
The PowerBolt features a lithium-ion battery with a USB-C connection and Dynamic Power-Path Management, which allows for simultaneous battery charging and power delivery. It also offers fast charging speeds of up to 1.5 Amps, so you’ll have it fully charged and back powering your machine in no time, while the higher energy density of the PowerBolt provides reliability and stability.
As you can see, the PowerBolt has various buttons that allow you to adjust the voltage quickly and easily, as well a battery capacity and voltage LED indicator here.
Press the up and down arrows to change the voltage in 0.5 Volt increments or decrements from 5 to 12 Volts. The colour of the LED corresponds to the voltage chart. When you see a blinking light, that means that it is on .5, so for example, the blinking red light here tells me that it is running at 8.5 volts.
Finally, for those travelling by flight, you can choose to ‘killswitch’ the machine, like so… This stops the Flux from being switched on accidentally, so your machine can safely be carried on the plane with you. To ‘wake’ it up again, all you need to do is plug a USB-C cable in...
The Spektra Flux is Bluetooth-enabled, which means that you can pair it with DarkLab’s latest Hover power supply and upcoming app. You’ll be able to use the DarkLab app to wirelessly update your Flux with the latest firmware, making it future proof, as well as any cool new features they may release!
Topping the scales at 181 grams means that the Flux is easy to use and more comfortable over long tattooing sessions. In addition, this machine is very quiet and creates extremely minimal vibration.
The Spektra Flux is a direct drive tattoo machine that offers no give and a 4 millimetre stroke, which allows it to excel in lining, shading and colour packing. To adjust the needle depth, simply turn the click grip like so…
Made in the USA by the guys behind DarkLab and FK Irons, the Flux is set to be an exciting addition to Spektra’s range of rotaries and we can’t wait for it to be released.
Make sure to keep an eye on the Killer Ink website via the link in the description below for all updates regarding the Flux, as well as DarkLab’s other new products, the Hover power supply and Lightning Bolt wireless battery pack.
So, now that you’ve had your first look at the Spektra Flux, what do you think?
If you hold down until blinking blue you can change the level the needle gives to the skin
Weak a$$ review. Doesn’t even use the machine! How are you gonna review it 😂😂
tell fk irons to put the cartridge slot mechanism same as the ergo grip so that the needle and buttons will always stay on same angle/spot when twisting the grip adjusting the needle depth
Yesssss please.
OMG youtube’s algorithm brought me my recent thought which is I wanna get this gorgeous and LOVE you Debora ♥️
The future is now old man. I was looking at cordless impact wrenches. And this recommendation popped up.
Battery runs out in 3 hours after installing the app. Another powerbolt from the box is working normally without the app. I’m working on 8vl. What the problem fkirons?? Why you didn’t add the downgrade option in your app???? It’s very expensive machines, and now I’m not really happy buying this.
I think it's gorgeous
Gracias por los subtítulos. 💯
Looks badass

I have just purchased a spektra flux, why is the wire to charge it with so short? And do you need to charge both batteries when you first get it?
Hi Tabitha, FK Irons/Spektra recommends fully charging any of the PowerBolts before first use.
My adjusting is stuck and just unscrewing please help
Hi, can you send a video of the issue to info@killerinktattoo.co.uk please? One of our team will then look into the problem for you.
Can u use any class c charger on the battery pack such as the charger from a cell phone?
Hey, it's recommended to use the cable that comes with the machine, it will work, however we would always suggest using the cable provided 😊
Mine is stuck in sleep mode and no matter what I do it won’t turn on. Any suggestions?
Hey! We'd suggest trying to plug it in to the USB charger and see if there's any response, if nothing, then its best you contact whoever you have purchased the machine from to repot the issue.

Hey, unfortunately we don't ship to India!
the buttons doesnt stay on same spot when adjusting needle depth
what if we but over charging is it have any damage if we forget on charging ?
Hi, the Spektra Flux has overcharge protection, but like most electronic devices, it's best that it is supervised.
How do you get it to start? Do I need a power supply?
Hey Tina, you don't need a power supply to start/run the Spektra Flux - you simply press the power button on the attached PowerBolt (the detachable battery pack that you can see in the video).
Best tattoo machine hand's down can't get no better its definition the future it dose it all lines good shades good packs good it dose it all it the best in the tattoo game and will be for a long ⌛ time.
Rotary of pen style...?
Hey, yes this is a rotary pen-style machine 😊
How can u switch from point five?
Hey, are you reffering to the voltage? If so, it can only be turned up or down in 0.5 V increments!
Do you need a foot pedal to make it work?
I was wondering this too- how do you make it stop/start?
@@spookyval9125 ? you just press on it.
Anyone else find the bottom heavy style uncomfortable?
this one is better or Exo ???
Hi, it really just comes down to preference and the way you tattoo. If you email the team at info@killerinktattoo.co.uk with your tattooing style and other preferences, they'll be able to assist in picking the right machine (and stroke length) for you.
when? can we have it
grip can be sterilized??
yes
@@GastonShutters de primera!!
Hello there. my machine's charging is running out in 3 hours. What is the reason?
Hi, it depends on the voltage used and machine usage in general. If you bought the machine from us, please email info@killerinktattoo.co.uk, otherwise you will need to contact FK Irons.
Hey, how did you go with this? I’m only get 3 hours aswell
Better u guys make a video how to clean it inside if smth getting into it
It’s a pen machine. With the exception of the axys Valhalla that has a safety cap, ALL pen machines can’t be fully cleaned as it’s easy to unknowingly contaminate the back stem or side of a cartridge and have it go up inside the drive bar of the machine. Older videos of FK irons talking about grips like the click ergo they talk about how important it is to be able to completely break down something to clean the entire system and drive bar, and now it’s just “wipe off the outside”. I really want to like it, but it’s too risky.
Better this or Cheyenne sol nova unlimited for lining?
this is better cuz is 4mm stroke
cheyenne is 3.5
ZnickerZ Art i use the cheyenne for lining and kt actually is really good up to 7s and okay for 9s everything above that i dont use anyway.
How do you connect a Bluetooth foot pedal?
Hi Nick, you will need to wait until DarkLab releases its compatible foot pedal.
Nice!
I try to settings deep but so hard to twist, somebody know?
Hi, it should be easy to twist the grip, however, if it's tight, we would recommend checking that the ratchet disc is properly in place and can be loosened by applying a light coat of grease to the inner grip/threading to make it smoother.
If you are still having issues, we would recommend that you contact the company you purchased from to run some troubleshooting. If purchased from Killer Ink, please email info@killerinktattoo.co.uk.
How much sir
Hi, you can find the prices here: www.killerinktattoo.co.uk/tattoo-machines/spektra/flux
what brand needles are you guys using on yours?
Seriously tired of seeing everyone who does a review on this machine talk about the damn Bluetooth feature how it connects with the dark lab app that would be a really cool feature if we had the actual app tired of them showcasing it than say the app will be available sometime In The near future they been saying that for a yr already feel like we’re never gona get it love the machine though got mine last month and gota say it’s a beast of a machine wish you could switch out the cams like the xion so I can get some really nice soft shading but it’s ok I use my xion with the battery pack for that
Hi, at the time of filming this review, the DarkLab App had not released. However, we will release a video about it when it becomes available.
I still prefer the ancient method of tattooing with bone and bamboo.
If it can be updated it can be slowly killed similar to how Apple does there iPhones. Forcing you to have to buy the newest version.
I updated 2 of mine fluxes at the same day.3 powerbolts.all fucked now.proper taking a piss.switches itself off.and battery life is wank now
Can hardly do 4 hr now.before upgrading could do 7-8.wankers.pisses me off now
@@vadimssmirnovs8547 Man that blows, was there a warranty?
Are there disposable grips for the flux for tattooists who travel a lot?
yes they are coming out shortly
Yeah they should be out before the summer time
are they out already? can not find any
I was wondering the same thing !!

Hi, you can find the prices here: www.killerinktattoo.co.uk/tattoo-machines/spektra/flux
