Di i already gave neet 3 times but score not going above 300......now I'm thinking of doing bds from pvt and make my career as lecturer and also practicing...is it ok or to leave this field as I'm not able to get good marks in.eet
Just focus on practicing lecture have does not earn more then 15000 per month if u skiledd u earn more then 1 lkh per month
You can do BDS from a private college if you can afford it but make sure its good. To become a lecturer you have to do MDS. If you want to leave clinical dentistry after BDS you can do that also by doing MBA, MPH, MHA etc

No scope for anyone chahe privete se karo ya govt se, struggle to bds ka dusra naam hai, isme dentistry ki galti nai hai samaaj isko seriously leta hi nai, are govt esko seriously nai leti hai bhai, dci ko koi hosh hi nai, kabhi stand nai leti, so sach bolna chahiye bachho ko, say a big no to bds,

People do take it seriously, esp those who have dental pain.
And if you are the best in your job, dentistry pays you more than you can ever dream of.. and best part is we don’t need to be specialists to perform surgeries as we already study speciality for 5 years.
Govt and DCI kuch kre ya na kare, every dentist can earn decent after a few years of struggle and if someone does not have the patience for that, then there are innumerable non clinical options nowdays, you can actually not complaint about no jobs in this situation
Dr Shweta you said something true regarding private dental colleges baring few each one of them are making the entire dental education a mockery, but scope after bds is what you are mentioning is where I beg to differ with you if someone has to pursue career in IT,hospital management,so on so forth than there is no need of having bds as a degree requirement it is chosen so that later he or she doesn't have to run after other things what I personally feel rather than thinking of what scope is there in the field we should talk about what best can be created or achieved from core dentistry,which dentists are meant for either by jobs or by scaling dental services industry I often say everyone is not meant to become entrepreneurs only few can 10 percent will become big shots and 90 percent will be absorbed via jobs if such things are not done the entire industry will remain in bad shape only career prospect will remain grim.
I know there is no need of having a BDS degree for these courses! But as we know after 5 years alot of people don’t want to pursue clinical courses and i have seen my seniors working well after doing these ‘non clinical courses, that’s why i mentioned!
Not everyone has what it takes to pursue clinical dentistry and become and enterpreneur.. some people want a stable job and a fixed salary every month and i think it’s okay. People should know that they have the option to have a stable job after BDS too.

Visit the college yourself before taking admission, talk to seniors, in terms if jobs there is no privilege given to govt college doctors, but you will have to make sure to make extra efforts.. 👍🏻

@@drshwetachaudhary._ I have visited yesterday only there……I talked to the college counsellor directly for the admission enquiry and all……so he said that yes…..some private hospital vacancies and govt vacancies can be filled after the internship for the junior dentist to gain experience and confidence before a new clinic start up(private practice)……. But yes mbbs has more scope as compared to the bds.

Hi that’s just a myth! Since there are n number of private colleges left right and centre in India and they are extremely costly, people tend to believe that dentistry can only be done by people who have money!
But the fees in govt colleges is meagre..
Also it’s not mandatory for any BDS graduate to open his/ her clinic. You can opt for non clinical jobs as well which pay handsomely.
Please listen to the opinion of only dentists when it comes to dentistry. There is alot of negativity around this field solely because of the high number of BDS graduates from private colleges!
Regardless it is the most amazing field and doing it from a govt college is definately the right choice.

Jobs are very less in clinical field, initially you get paid very less but later on the jump is significantly more than any other field. Dentistry is an art, once you master the art, people will pay you any price you quote them. It takes years and years to master a hand skill that’s why in clinical field less salary in the beginning. Also because you work under someone who is teaching you the skills, you either should be skilled enough to get paid well or you get paid less and learn from your seniors. If you get a govt MDS seat then you can get paid around 50k -1 lakh per month easily.
If you choose to leave the clinical field and opt for non clinical jobs or masters in hospital or health management, the minimum salary after them is 6-8 lpa for a fresher which increases every year

Infact you can do so many things, i have talked about them in this video as well!
I do agree that doing BDS from private colleges is a gamble because most of them are just to suck money out of desperate students and parents!
But there are exceptions like Manipal but they will cause a hole in your pocket!

See in good govt BDS colleges it will atleast require minimum 500-550 marks in the current scenario. In some the cutoff is even as high as 580

Ma'am im getting admission in DY Patil, Navi Mumbai and ofcourse the fees is high but i visited the campus and it was world class with fabulous infrastructure and my seniors are saying it has a good patient inflow. Should i go there?

It’s less for general category. If you are fresher drop another year if you can, if you don’t want to drop, don’t choose private BDS

Forcing to take admission in private MBBS? It’s impossible to prepare while studying for MBBS, you barely get time to study and pass in first year forget about giving NEET. No superhuman can do this task.

Depends.Clinical jobs have alot of competition, but if you study hard then you can clear entrances for various exams of hospitals.
In Non clinical options, if you choose to opt for hospital management or healthcare management, there is significantly less competition and more jobs.
But you have to keep in mind that if you want to pursue clinical field and you like doing patients, there is an initial struggle but 10 times more returns than any job can provide because it’s your own business and your earnings will depend on your skills in the long run.

It is ignorant to say that. Sure there are very less jobs in clinical field but I would advice you to watch youtube videos of successful dentists, visit a dentist nearby you, any clinic owner you know, then you’ll get to know the real thing. There is a separate branch called Oral sugery which covers all jaw surgeries and maxillofacial surgeries.
After doing PG in oral surgery you can do hair transplants, and all facial surgeries

What is the cut off of bds?
I gave NEET in 2017 and at that time for government colleges it was around 550 in good government colleges. In some states it was 450-500 as well
Does college also matters in Bds ?! Like my score is around 590 and will probably get bds at PGI rohtak which has very good patient inflow and quite a high ranking so does college from which you have done your ug plays any pivotel role in your career, especially while going for hospital jobs or abroad ?!
It plays a pivotal role when you set up a private practice! People want to be treated by someone from a govt college and patients usually ( mostly) ask you where you graduated from not even in your own but anywhere you practice.PGI rohtak is one of the most prestigious colleges so don’t worry.
