I am a 14 year old and in high school. Taxidermy is my dream job, so your content is really interesting and helpful. Thank you for doing what you’re doing. The antelope looks really good!
You are in for a great adventure. Make sure to subscribe , there are a lot of videos coming up.
This was very interesting to watch. Thank you for sharing.
You are welcome.
Again, so thankful you finally put together a lovely video set of these most magnificent of creatures! My favorite animal! Great work! Can't wait to see more!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Mr. Ben for your informative videos once again!
Welcome.
Amazing Antelope!
Beautiful Antelope! I shot my first goat in 2019 and got it back from the taxidermist about 2 months ago. I went with a wall pedestal mount for mine. Such a cool looking animal! Great work!!
Thanks Josh

Can i have it?🥺😍 its a beautiful work❤
Thanks Mark.
Enjoy your videos very much. I notice on bird videos you use no dry preservative or borax on the skins. Do you use a bird tan?
I soak the skins in a solution ... A video is going up very soon in that regard.
cheers.
Nice mount as the usual - are the nostrils (interior of nose) on pronghorn solid black, or is there a flesh tone? Thanks
Thank you. They are solid black.
@@ArtofTaxidermy Thanks Ben , don’t get many in northern Mn
@@MB-nz2mt welcome...we dont either,,, their numbers are low in souther Alberta. Serious ones go to Wyoming or such areas.
Who is the manufacturer of the pinner gun? And the model number.
Bostitch. I don’t know the Model number but different ones take different sizes of pins.
when I cape out the kill , the cut is from the back to the back of head correct ??
Hi John, It is correct but it would be considered the old way or traditional way...most people these days are tubing their game head. HOWEVER tubing is not an option for some game heads.. it would be much easier to do a back of neck incision on animals like Pronghorn, Bighorn sheep, in my opinion.
@@ArtofTaxidermy thank you.
Hello! I have a question about what to do with the skin after you have skinned the animal? How do you process the skin so that it can be put on a taxidermy ? Thanks for now!! // Karl
It's got to be frozen immediately if it is not yet ready to be mounted. If it is ready, it needs fleshed, pickled, fleshed again, eyes, nose, lips, and ears, turned, and then tanned and washed after caping the animal out. Measurements taken then or before and the form ordered, then the form prepped, and other supplies ordered (eyes, earliners, clay, hide paste, etc). Most taxidermists I know send it off to a local tannery, but some do it in-house to save money and to better monitor their customer's hides. There's a reason mounts are not cheap! Hope this helps!
Great reply Allie. cheers
Allie said it all .. but to make it short. you need to either clean it and freeze it, or salt it and send it off to a tannery. cheers
