Thanks for the vid mate! Bought a 1987 XV750 Virago a while back and wanted to change the oil and the filter, and this is a nice and compact video on how to do exactly that.
You don't need to take those off. I think I saw same vid, the guy keeps complaining about Yamaha design. No manufacturer would make it that hard, surely....
@@lilforkk9656 k thank you it’s been running fine also with all that oil not burning any or anything it’s missing the stator regulator but order that already works it hurt anything to run without the regulator
@@aussiewantok I wish I was but you’re okay man, I am a pioneer for some of us if I am unable to find the proper filter. I found that STP S6004 is similar but the pressure baffle is different and won’t go on because of the spring inside. K&N145 looks like it’s a viable substitute but I’m not sure but it looks like it has an access hole and there was another one by WIX but I can’t remember the part number off the top of my head. However that being said, it appears that the old filter I have on… erm they might’ve just cut the pressure baffle off

Thanks mate.
Onya Troop Master!
if I don't preheat the engine and just leave it on the central stand, I don't get the correct oil reading...? I'm asking about a more daily check
I hardly even check the oil, eventually the oil light will come on...
So u did the oil filter without removing the shifter ??
Yes, it's definately possible
That's awesome men I was told it was supposed to be removed as well
hermosa maquina, algun dia tendre la mia...
¿Tal vez pronto?
Is 20w50 oil recommended for these motorcycles?
10W40, I believe, I am in the tropics though
I can't figure out how you got to lower bolt with footpeg mount in the way.
Allan key does it. Perhaps cut it down a little, so it fits
@@aussiewantok that's what I was thinking. Saw another video where brake pedal and crash bar had to come off so had a major head scratch going on.

IT TAKE 10 MINNITS TO TAKE OFF 4 FUCKINGS BOLTS EASY LIKE HELL.
Correct, that's exactly what it is, some have no idea...
If anyone has the oil filter size please let me know
Kn145 for k&n filter

@@russellbizzell2516 Theres almost no way you should be able to hold 8 quarts In There 😭 manufacturer book says 3.5 qts
@@lilforkk9656 I’m guessing it filled up those big 5 qts jugs 1.5xs

Its a standard XV750 filter (www.ebay.com.au/itm/262527845438), I got 5 of them, hope that helps
Hey man do you have another link for filter by chance? I’m at a standstill this weekend because I couldn’t find the right filter
@lilforkk9656 mate, I don't have another link. I bought like 6 of them in one go. If yr around Cairns, I'll give you one
