It is simply my opinion .. but I believe she sings this to her Grandma Mery. She is her mentor, her muse, her best friend... and .. she also was a child prodigy so she has held and supported her dear Angelina as only someone who's lived being super talented from day one could. Her art is extraordinary. (Remember the outfit Angelina wrote on AGT during Bohemian Rhapsody? .. that fabric was done from one of her Grandma Mery's paintings. Thanks for this sweet and beautiful song. I must have watched it 50 times by now. .. bye from me!
Baffling. 10 year old singers do NOT perform this flawlessly. Yet this is one of many perfect performances by Angelina and a prime example of why SO MANY people love her and feel she is the GOAT.

This performance will always be one of my favorites. At 10, Angelina had so many great songs, and luckily, they were recorded for history.
Another great reaction guys. This is a beautiful example of Angelina's "straight singing" that is a true Masterpiece. The fact that it was sung by a 10 yo girl is unbelievable. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for me!

"Her voice at 10!" Yes, indeed, gents. She's brilliant. The thing for me is that she gives her total attention to every single note she sings ... she's not napping until the "big" part of the song comes, which lots of singers today so obviously do. The whole song is the big part for her, and it always shows. Some greats have covered this as you two noted. For me, the only cover that's as good is John Coltrane's from "My Favorite Things," but of course he was a legendary sax player, not a singer. Always like your Angelina reactions, guys. Angelina is a professional musician, her skills are superior on every level. All her qualities are noticeable from a very young age, it's all there, her genius at its best!

What a great performance, Angelina Jordan is a sensation, an incredible singer from a very young age, I love listening to every song she sings. Let me make a suggestion since it looks like you guys are very open to new talented artists regardless of where they´re from, he´s name is Gabriel Henrique and you can start with And I´m telling you I´m not going a Jennifer Hudson cover and check him out in his car singing I wanna know what love is a Mariah Carey cover, this guy is another great super talented artists with some incredible vocal ranges I´m sure you will like. BP 1 and BP 2, you guys have heard Angelina sing many songs and yet she still surprises you. There are still dozens more performances from her past for you to be surprised again and again. Here, as you said, she was 10 years old and about to depart on a trip to the USA, so she was saying goodbye to her homeland in the most beautiful way possible.

Guys, so happy you decided to react to this breathtaking performance by Angelina. She was performing on a roof top of the local TV station and soon after she was on her way to the USA.
As great as she was starting at 7 years old on Norway's Got Talent, she definitely stepped it up " a few notches" at 10 and the industry took notice and recognized she was not just a very young girl with a fabulous voice but someone who was way beyond her years and was being recognized as a true artist with certain attributes reserved for only a few. There are several video's of her performing at 10 and everyone of them mesmerizes you and you are stunned. I believe you have done some of them ('Feeling Good'). I don't recall if you have seen her video when she sang 'My Funny Valentine' at 10 years old. I know you saw her latest version of that classic at 16 years old but to go back and watch her sing it at 10 is something you will never forget.

This is such a difficult song because of the tempo and cadence, but Angelina handles that with no worries, and she also genuinely delivers the very mature emotion in those lyrics. This song has been a favorite for me ever since I heard it with Ella on a 45rpm EP back in the days 🤔 and I have enjoyed all the versions you mentioned and quite a few more. And here it is renewed by a 10 year old angel, performing it as if it was recorded at the time it was written… This girl is special, very special.
Now listen to Ella Fitzgerald's version of this and the immensity of Angelina's talent will become glaringly evident.
She easily stands next to Ella, Billie, and Nina from that era. The placement of all her colors that make the lyrics work is from a singer with at least 20 years behind her.

Few commentators have recently played on their channels this video of Angelina Jordan performing this beautiful song which was rightly a big hit in the fifties and sixties. That a ten year old girl has given this version in 2016 in this way is simply miraculous.

Angelina was amazing, has gotten more amazing and since her voice will not fully mature for about another decade, will rise to new levels of amazingness: it is easy to appreciate her performances at any age :-)
This song is one of those time machine performances: you blink with your eyes and you are back to the time of Vera Lynn (that was the version I was thinking of). She sings this so smoothly and makes it seem deceivingly easy to sing. Just close your eyes and dream of a little and all too soon it is over.

She was literally on her way to Los Angeles when she sang this. So the song really had a meaning for her and that's why we feel so much emotion.

The ship that carries your channel safely across another channel, maybe the English Channel ?? OMG.. I'm in a crazy mood now, waay too tired to write anything sensible. Luckily., I'll have to get up in 5 hrs. AMPLE time to sleep then.
Before I go to sleep, though, I just thought I'd give you a list of recordings of all of her performances on her July 10th concert at Kurbadhagen here in Norway, where I got to attend...YAAAAY!!!!!!!
I just have to tell you that that was by far THE musical experience of my life. 85 minutes of sheer perfection and bliss to be perfectly honest. No breaks in between the songs, just some gentle chatting with the audience, and off she went again. CRAZY good. Not ONCE off beat or hitting a sour note. Perfection. As it happens, a Swedish man by the name Mattias Axelsson ALSO attended the concert, and he recorded the whole thing. I can testify that his recordings are by far the best overall recordings out there, with 4K UHD video and great sound. So if I were you (I obviously am not) I would keep my list safe for the winter. It's a great go-to list if you want to see her most recent live performances. The list is in chronological order, too. I'll just quickly say that her first performance caught the entire audience off guard, when she covered"Mount Everest" by Labrinth😉 A completely new way of singing, and maybe a new genre for her as well. It's amazing how quickly time passes and we certainly try and return to Angelina as often as we can and also discover new artists.
We only do this part time along side our full time jobs and other daily activities.

I've listened to almost all the versions listed by BP2, and for me, Angelina's is the Best. And she's 10. When I first heard her perform this it was a WTF moment for me. Just couldn't believe the nuances, subtleties, and wonderful tone she brought to this classic Cole Porter song. She was a jazz pro at age 10. Can you name another one? I certainly can't. And listening to her today, she is only getting Better. When you played Angelina's "I Put a Spell on You " did you have to go searching for the socks. She blew my socks off and I never did find them.
Reminds me of her My Funny Valentine early this year. Just without the current more refined, more mature skillset. The way she dances through the song melodically with soft highs and lows, and little slides of a tease of power, breathy, fry, head, chest. Everything just so fluid, a thousand transitions in four minutes that just seemed too easy for her. Her musicality to pull a similar feel off at that young age, with a lesser skill set, well it was clearly always there for her to a special extent.

You run out of superlatives sooner or later when thinking of what to say about Angelina. I agree with BP2 about her vibrato: what she can do with it and how, beggars description. I keep harking back to the question that BP1 has asked several times: why isn't she better known, or blown up? I think I like the pace at which she is being 'discovered' by new listeners.
I share her music with my daughter who is 18, and with other friends. Their musical preferences resemble a buffet, they listen to o many voices. They all think I am obsessed with AJ (they are right, I am 😊) and yes, she appeals to a much older demographic. I think her musical maturity is matched with her being comfortable with the pace of her musical progress. Now, to wait for her US concerts.....

This is filmed on the rooftop of NRK TV 2 studios and she would be 10 years old here, shortly before she left for the USA to pursue her career, kind of crazy to say that but it is Angelina. This is one of the most beautiful renditions of this song ever done, simply mesmerizing to me at least and this would be the Cole Porter version. One of my top 5 of my 100's of top 5 covers and songs by Angelina. Always great to see you guys. Cheers and stay well. I am glad that you react regularly to Angelina's songs. I just wished that the time spans between two such reactions would be shorter. I was shocked for a second when BP1 said he would not score Angelina with a 10. I'm kidding, I was sure that he will do it. More of a surprise for me was that BP2 also gave Angelina a 10 this time. But I also know that I can expect you to score her with a 10 (as well as most people would do) only if the song she performed was recorded and edited professionally as was the case here. For me personally, most of her home recordings are also a 10. Actually, I scored more than 100 (out of over 300) of her performances with a 10. If it is a 9 then usually because I do not particularly like that song (for example "Black to Black" by Amy Winehouse). If it is below a 9 then only because the sound of the recording is poor or bad. There is only one exception from the last rule: one performance of Angelina (out of over 300) I rated a 5 because I didn't like her interpretation of that particular song (even though it was technically flawless as always).
This is one of my special favourites from Angelina. I always cry when I hear this because it is so beautiful. Other singers have performed this with more bells and whistles, but you cannot sing this song better than this. I believe this is the perfect performance.
Interesting choice for an Angelina reaction as it's kind of obscure. She did an interview for Norwegian TV up on that rooftop then sang this song. Classic Angelina, one instrument and beautifully sung. You get spoiled for choice with her, there are hundreds of videos and now days it's Tik Toks left and right. She put out another one today, singing into her cell phone in a parking garage. Ah, to be that young. In Mick Jagger's words, time is on her side

keep up the reactions guys . Angelina recorded this song on a Norwegian TV station a few hours before she jumped on a plane to move to Los Angeles . this was her way to say goodbye to all her friends and fans in Norway .
This was when she was leaving for an extended tour of the US, she didn't move to LA until 2 years later when she was 12.
@@keithserafy angelina has lived in the united states at least 2 other times before she moved there when she was 12 . i know for sure that she lived in los angeles for a time when she was very young when her father was working in the oil industry .

Ella Fitzgerald's version of this song is what Angelina based her rendition on.
The only appreciable difference is that Angelina simply slows it down. When they
say 'less can be more', this is what they are talking about. As great as Ella's version
was, Angelina's reached me deeper than Ella.........and at 10 years old, standing on
an outside balcony and accompanied by a single guitarist just keeping time. It should
be realized that when the 'Top 50 Jazz Singers Of All Time' was reported, Ella was #1,
followed by Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Billie Holiday.

I'm suggesting two different songs and letting you guys pick.
