Loretta was a force of nature; she had things to say and paid the price many times. One of her songs "The Pill" was banned on most country radio stations. Her song "Ones On The Way" was another song that wrinkled some feathers. RIP Loretta; you were a hero to many of us young girls who grew up listening to you.

I have always loved this song. Yes, Loretta tells it like it is. I think this was one of her songs that got banned by Country radio. I'm from N.E. Ohio & was lucky to hear all of Lorettas singles that were released on the radio station l listened to. I think when she got banned by other stations, you knew that song was going to be a hit. Everyone wanted to hear the song to see why Country Radio won't play it. I remember all the tv shows talking to her about it. She didn't understand what all the fuss was about. She wrote about life & everyone could relate to it.

I really appreciate Loretta's honesty. What you see is exactly what you get with her.. and she NEVER pulled any punches. She said what was on her mind and a lot like today's rapper Tom MacDonald.. she was not scared to say what everyone was thinking. Back in the 50s... it def was a different time with different social stigmas. Thanks for loving Ms. Loretta the way we all do! Blessings from Texas!

The Lead guitarist and Bass player are twin brothers, and my great Uncles. It’s always nice to see UA-camrs react to Loretta songs.

It's no longer quite PC, but I used to love her song "Your Squaw's on the Warpath Tonight."

YEP! ANOTHER LORETTA LYNN SONG BANNED FROM RADIO PLAY! Rated X still went to #1 on the charts for sales. LORETTA LYNN HAD MORE SONGS BANNED FROM RADIO THAN ALL THE MALE COUNTRY SINGERS COMBINED! That's how REAL she was with her songs. SHE SAID WHAT SHE SAID, LIKE IT OR NOT!

I think it is illegal in all 50 states to not love Loretta Lynn.

Shawn and Mel: I love your channel! If you want to hear a really good Loretta song - listed to "Manhattan, Kansas"...it's sad but she sings the h*ll out of it.

She must have had someone in mind when she wrote that song, I wonder who it was.
