Do you know what suspension type you were using? From my experiences trying to turn it into a baja buggy, the sport and race suspension on that car are like glass, meanwhile the stock suspension will continuously bend but never break (likewise the sub 2.0L engines will almost never lock up from a lack of oil)
@@neatnoot214 It was stock at the front (whatever the diesel 160 spec has, as I used that as the base). I only stiffened the rear up a bit, but since we had to use standard tires that didn't help much to prevent understeer. I'll keep what you said in mind though!

My 200BX "Bryan Pooper" did not get me anywhere fast, but it did get me to the finish line. Also thanks Joe for puncturing my tires on race two.

The Destruction Derby banner is a very cool detail! The tracks on DD were simple but well designed, it's great to see a modern interpretatuin!
As much as I like the chaos in Beam, I kinda wish there was more of a check point system for this game to make circuit races a bit more intuitive.
You would think there would be mods for UI and game types etc. Probably worth looking into.
@@ConnorHammond I just did a quick search and it seems like bean has check points built in. But maybe they aren't being applied to some one the user made content? Either that or it's not compatible with the Beam multiplayer mod? Either way it's an option that seems to be going unused... Unless it was removed after the video I saw.

Seeing that Destruction Derby box art brought back memories of the countless hours I played that on the PS1 in the 90s, absolutely loved this.
I am surprised how nostalgic I am for these tracks from the old game, simple but effective.
my rwd swapped wendover was fun to slide around but rather shocking when it came to actually accomplishing racing - this is the second time in one of these beam sessions ive screwed myself over swapping the wendover xD
Who knows, maybe you'll shock everyone with a sleeper car. They'll look at the wendover and be like "pfft not a chance" and then you dominate the race.
Can't wait for you to turn that last race in to a short!

Some say, that he assassinates an average of eight opponents every race, and that he keeps his friends locked in a dungeon....all we know is, he's called FailRace!
Just scrolled through all the comments and although it's already been mentioned, it's only been mentioned once- there's a "building block" LEGO mod out for BeamNG that lets you design your own vehicles if you want and it's surprisingly polished. The cars drive absolutely terribly but it's a fun mod worth checking out.

You guys should do a Group B rally tournament in Beam NG. Everyone builds their own automation cars and races them.

Would be interesting to see a derby tournament like this with more relaxed rules re: contact, but your car's damage isn't reset between races. Could create some interesting build / strategy decisions.

What about a very curios race in BeamNG? I just saw a video, that there is a Lego Mod for BeamNG. WIth this mod you not only can drive Lego cars that splatter like you would expect, you can also build that cars from scratch it seems.
So everyone builds his own car (with some rules) and then you race with them and to make it fair the next two races are driven with the same cars, but it is drawn after the race who is driving with what other car. The winner is the one with most poiints.

Cool mod idea: Damage gets repaired during a collision, but only for the person going faster. (Walls still damage both).

I'd like to see maybe a LeMans style endurance race with a wide track for minimal contact. Maybe modify it by increasing gravity so the track does more damage. Fast cars.

You shouldn't do a lap race, you should do a timed race, it would be easier to follow.

The figure 8 track had the box art from it in the intersection. All these tracks were from there. The speedway and 3rd track aren't completely perfect replicas but same layouts.
