My First Time in Canada : Toronto City Airport to Midtown w/
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- It was my first ever time in Canada, and I needed to get to my AirBnB in Midtown at St. Clair Avenue. Luckily I had help from @JohnnyStrides , a local UA-camr. We took public transit to Midtown Toronto and it wasn't exactly a smooth commute with delays and diversions.

Welcome to Toronto and thanks for having me on the video!
You were so chill but funny too! 🙂 😅 You two rock as a Collab! 😂👍🏼
Johnny is only looking for drama as UA-cam content. Same Ken continuum who does mindless walking on same street 100 times.
Films people on street and if someone objects pick a fight and later use as a thumbnail . As a security guard I told them not to do next time will report tk police. Thanks Johnny & Ken !
@@Starrynigh88 you have no right to stop someone from filming on the street in public or stop them from filming you. It's called public for a reason
it was great to see Johnny Strides in this video, you guys' channels help us explore cities that I personally have always wanted to visit. Thank you Johnny Strides and ActionKid 💯⭐️🙏👏👏👏
Thanks for showing me around your city
Great to see AK and Johnny Stride of CANADA 🇨🇦 to bring you around the city....a helping hand is certainly a bonus....thanks Johnny for sharing the information on public transportation around Toronto...
Woohoo! 🎉 Congratulations on your trip and Collab with Johnny Strides for your first time in Toronto, Canada 👏 🇨🇦🍁
Thank you very much! It was fun to experience
Thanks for these videos of Toronto, they were amazing. You need to come back one day and explore Toronto Island, go to Caribana and also check out the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition), as well as check out Yorkdale Mall, Square One in Missaugua, and Canada's Wonderland.
Canadian's are generally so polite and helpful ... Can't wait to visit❤
Great to have a kind torontonian to meet action kid and explore T.O. Awesome travel buddies. Thanks very much Johnny Strides and action kid. 👍😊
You’re welcome! I had the best guide to show me around Toronto
Toronto is a beautiful city. I'm so looking forward to watching all of your videos there. I was only there once in 2003 for seven days and I loved every second of it.
What city do you live?
Great video , TY @Johnny Strides for the welcome , looking forward to the rest of your trip AK 😊
This is an informative video for anyone who's planning to fly into Billy Bishop Airport. 😃 Johnny was so helpful with your luggage and backpack, and he offered great tips about the transportation and the "Presto" kick 50:27 😁 It was so neat to see the streetcar and subway ride, and they are pretty spacious and clean. Thank you for sharing this video with Johnny, AK! 🤗
Glad to have Johnny around to guide me through Toronto with all the public transportation
You know Action, when I travel my family calls me the bag lady because they think I bring to much stuff, but like you, I bring what I need!
@@ActionKid Thank you!
Two of my all time favorite travel/exploration youtubers that inspired me to do this thing together in one video! Keep up the good work guys! I enjoy your videos a lot! ✌❤
Welcome to Toronto Actionkid, wish I was there to welcome you! This was so much fun having Johnny pick you up at the airport and traveling on the streetcar and subway station, you guys are so funny together! I live north of Ontario so when I stayed in Toronto in September, I also stayed at an Airbnb. Enjoying your stay at the Airbnb, have a great time!👍👍😀😀
Thank you so much, it was awesome to have him guide me around
Welcome to Canada.🇨🇦
welcome to canada!!! and youve THE MAN jonny strides
You were such a nice couple with Johny!!!! Communication, collaboration, funny moments, talking. It was like meeting an old friend of yours. Do more with him, in Toronto and elsewhere. You two look very good.
Yes, you’ll see more videos with him in the future
This is really cool. A nice collaboration with Johnny Strides. Love these Toronto videos and livestreams. Cheers! ✌️🇨🇦
It was wonderful to finally meet up with Johnny in Toronto and see the fabulous city
Now Johnny should come to Miami and do a collaboration with ActionKid.
Welcome to Toronto
You should have watch my video as I have taken the ferry, you just get on with the cars 😆 the tunnel is cool to walk through which opened July 30, 2015
I visited Toronto In 2019 and it's an impressive city. Looking to go there in the future.
Before Porter Airlines came into existence, there was a airline called People's Express that flew to Newark Airport. It was a "no frills" choice that offered less expensive flights to limited destinations.
Johnny Strides! Unbelievable, this is a dream collaboration 🥳
Yep
Excellent guide! So useful for anyone visiting for the first time 😎. The main differences between Toronto and NYC? Trams (or as they call them, streetcars), and of course, a distinct lack of horn-honking 😂
Thanks for sharing beautiful places as usual 👍
Welcome to My hometown, Toronto Island Airport is great so close to DT, enjoy action kid.
we need street cars like that in Miami! its easier to expand into all of downtown than the Metro Mover , cheaper, and looks a whole lot better!
It would be very convenient have have streetcars like that in Miami
Actually Toronto street cars are very problematic, infrastructure is extremely expensive, slow and mostly exists for the looks rather a method of transportation
@@bloodycrepe really?
@@danmcclaren5436, he's being full of it; there are problems with streetcars here in Toronto, but that mostly because of the _automobile_ traffic and not because of anything else; Toronto streetcars are reliable. come as fast as they're supposed to and can move (and carry) a lot of people (the current Flexity Swift ones.)
@@Neville60001 thanks for that. I was about to say. Street should be extremely effecient except for a bit of traffic, but that's expected even with buses
Coffee Crisp is a good chocolate bar only available in Canada ...
One of my favorites. ❤
👍Great. Looking forward to the rest of your Toronto "vacation" too.
The People of Canada 🇨🇦 Welcome .. The Actionkid !! 🐼
Neighbourhood directly around Porter is called Bathurst Quay :)
Looking forward to more such vids.
Enjoyable video once again , the Toronto airport looked great , the streetcar ride and the metro ride were nice too 😎Very nice video , thank you for sharing A K with Johnny Strides🙂👍!!!
You’re welcome, it was a smooth ride on the public transit and a good introduction to Toronto!
Awesome, 2 Best walker @Actionkid and @Johnny Strides, I'm very happy to see you in Livestream 😊🙌
Johnny Strides and the ACTION KID, FINALLY together in THE GREAT NORTH ty KEN and JOHNNY
This is so beautiful walking tour!!😍😍 I want to go there someday!! Thank you for sharing this my new friend!👍👍
Naw man, you don't wanna come to Toronto, it's one of the worst cities in Canada, if you wanna go I'd say plan it, do what you wanna do and leave asap. The best tourist locations are:CN tower, Rogers centre, and Ripley's Aquarium. They are all in the same location so you don't even need a bus to go to and from if you wanna do several of them. You will have a blast, but otherwise nobody likes Toronto. Sorry, but that's how it is
Sincerely, a Canadian
But if you ever come I hope you have a fantastic time, it's always funny to see an amarican expecting something interesting
@@bread8095 Oh? It is so bad...I've never been there , So don't know about Toronto.
Thank you for the advice!!
Welcome to Toronto.
I did not know there was called 'midtown' at St. Clair, but one time when I went back years ago, it was not as developed. One time out, on Porter in 2019. TTC, and "Rocket" streetcar. I finally got to CNE on that trip.
Yep it’s not as developed as other parts further north but still considered part of Midtown.
For a sweet tooth craving try a beaver tail🦫🍩 or Smarties candy- like M& Ms but better tasting chocolate.🍫
Great video! Regards from Switzerland
In Canada the aptitude test for 6th graders is the highest in the world but then beyond pass high school graduation it kind of just stalls there
THAT'S INCREDDIBLE ACTIONKID!!! I was about to say how's your first day of going to Toronto? I hope you have an INCREDDIBLE day in Toronto with Johnny Strides ActionKid! :)
U gotta take the ferry to toronto island!!
Kenneth I have been subscribed to Johnny a yr. After he was in NYC last summer
Welcome to Canada AK !!
Swiss Chalet, purely Canadian.
The big cheese who used to run Toronto Subway System now is in charge of NYC subway system.Andy something or other
Yes, an Englishman, I believe.
Andy Byford.
ferry is just for cars atm, ferry always runs because it brings supplies to the airport (like fuel).
awesome to see the Johnny Strides/ActionKid collaboration. People from Toronto like to pretend they live in mini-New York; glad to have a real New Yorker to set those Torontonians in their place :-)
Hey I love your videos, and the accompanying music. I'm a big fan.
@@MrJakeMallard Thanks I just released a new one today.
Hey there Action Kid!!!
Billy Bishop is the best as is the Porter airlines. MUCH easier than going to the big airport - Pearson. Avoid that if you can!
How was Toronto? I was in your city NY last month!
So where would you live…LA or Toronto?
look around bro its beatiful isnt it
Be sure to treat yourself to some Yogen Fruz while in Toronto. There should still be one in the Eaton Centre.
Keep safe
You should go to Montreal and Quebec City 👀
Forget Montreal, imagine ActionKid in Quebec City. It's likely you'll see him in St Johns Newfoundland Labrador before any of these places.
Nice video
Awesome footage 🎥
wow you went by my condo I didn't know you were around
Good amount of luggage ... you going somewhere else after Toronto?
No one really uses the term "midtown" in Toronto. Also, AK was correct, the CN Tower is the tallest STRUCTURE in ONLY Canada. The tallest structure in North America is the KVLY-TV mast, in ND which is about 200 feet taller than the CN Tower. AK said "structure" not building or tower.
It's the tallest _freestanding_ structure in the western hemisphere. Anything taller has to be held upright by support cables.
well they should. because you should have proper names for your city's neighborhoods instead of intersection names which is not a neighborhood/whole district
I think Johnny Strides just sometimes acts like a know it all when he is often wrong.
@@mefisto7583 Midtown is used for marketing and it is slowly catching on by people who move in. The reason is that midtown used to be further south, and the older generation/ people who grew up in&near there find it confusing. For example, Uptown decades ago, used to be Yonge/Bloor ( i.e. old uptown is further south than the new midtown). which is now just the northern end of downtown, or Yorkville.
At least you are not the one having to pull your bag around.
love your videos! but Toronto has about 700k ppl,not 10 million. js
Population of Toronto is 3 million, GTA is 6.5 million.
Surprised at lack of masks
Toronto is so stale. Yeah it's cool and all but where's the chutzpah?
ill ask one of my jewish friends
Toronto seems to be a very generic city. It could literally be anywhere in the world 😂
What you expecting see? Unicorns walking around and flying pigs?
Toronto is very unique look up other areas like Annex or Queen West or Leslieville. Its because they stayed in the finance and downtown area where there are a lot of new condos.
A lot of visitors say that. There is really no defining feature when you think of Toronto. At the end of the day it's a bedroom/work community.
It's actually extremely unique overall, but there are some generic looking areas such as between Union station. This was mostly new land that used to be under lake Ontario and then later industrial uses like a rail yard before being redeveloped for other things.
@@chrislim7976 There are quite a few defining features. Besides the CN tower, there's things like the bright red streetcars, the green and orange taxis, the Toronto-specific architectural vernacular of many of the brick houses seen throughout the inner city, landmarks like City Hall, etc. Visitors saying it has no defining features either just didn't do much (if any?) exploring.
You're recordings are kinda awkward.
I disagree with Johnny about _one_ thing in the conversation he had with AK; Toronto does *_not_* (and _did_ not) need any more subway lines other than the Downtown Relief Line proposed and planned by David Miller along with the Transit City light rail project planned for Toronto's Inner Suburbs (North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, East York, and York.) The currently going forward (unless it can be stopped) Ontario Line, which has a stupid-and unneeded-elevated section that is going to destroy a part of Toronto that has wildlife in it, as well as devastate Leslieville and also destroy a community centre frequented by a sizeable chunk of Muslims, and for what? So that current mayor John Tory and Doug Ford (premier [governor] of Ontario) can indulge their subwayitis? Toronto needs more transit, yes, but it should be _sensibly_ planned transit, not only subway lines built with no good reason 'just because'.
Johnny Strides is annoying
Hey Kid gimmie some Nasty action! Shwing!
38:34 It's all about a lack of funding, as funding for the subways from Provincial and Federal governments was pathetic for an entire generation. Things are definitely getting done now, though.
