just picked up a 1998 for $200 complete with 9k miles and a title. Needed a carb and bought one on ebay for $60 delivered. Runs great and appreciate your videos and you have very good mechanically ability and insight to not spending too much cash....God Bless Bro!!
I’ve watched most of your videos, and can honestly say you are awesome! I love the wit and your mechanical inclination. I don’t know why I’m commenting on this video other than it’s simply the last one I watched for the night, but I’m always entertained. I also happen to pick up a few things from your projects. Keep up the good work.
I first saw this thing on Small Soldiers when I was 7, the image of this still manages to steal my attention. It's not so much haunting as it is teasing. Frankly, I NEED one!
I sold my Elite 80 to buy a dual sport and I have missed it ever since. When I bought it the top speed was 25 and after taking apart the carburetor like 5 times with no improvements I spent the $89.00 for a new one and it was like new. There is something so fun about these things. 80cc's keeps you up with in town traffic just fine and the fun of just quickly jumping on and putting around is something a heavy motorcycle can not provide. I shall have another one day.
@@jenniesgarage👍 I've ridden a few🛵. 250 dual sport🏍️ is a different kind of fun; I can ride 30 minutes thru down town traffic 🚦lights and never take my foot off the peg, or sit down.
Ride on! Where i grew up everyone waved, now days around here its rare to see someone wave back, sometimes i wave big like i know someone lol, im sure it confuses them on who the heck that was lol. Thanks for taking us for the ride and Have a good'nnn
Recently Bought a used 2007 with 1752 miles. Paid $800. Replaced trans gear oil, spark plug, and air filter. Also cleaned fuel system/carb. Love riding this scooter, I ride it approx 3x week especially to my nearby fast food restaurant. Mine is silver and quieter than this one.
you are a funny dude a true character I enjoyed your videos from the start of the Shasta to this vid, I'm a NEW subscriber looking forward to the next 1 keep up the good work
Love your videos and humor! I heard you could use black shoe polish on the faded plastic black parts. Just mask off areas you don't want to get black on. Friends of mine have done this with their faded black door handles and bumpers. Good Luck and keep the AWESOME videos coming!
I have watched quite a few of your videos over the last couple days and this video made me have to subscribe. Your level of exaggerated sarcasm is freaking hilarious. I question anyone that cannot laugh at themselves first.
i found one locally who was selling for 750 and i talked him down to 300. Best 300 bucks i ever spent. Runs mint, has some usual dings all over but its so much fun
I like the CH80 Elite scooters. They are at home in the city, and will usually outrun traffic at stoplights. In most places the speed limit is 40 and that is rarely attained due to traffic and stoplights. As the drive belt wears the scoot will not be able to keep up as well. As a general rule, one of these should be able to top out at 45 mph with about 300 pounds of passengers.
Ha ha recycling :-D Im supprised you liked it so much, most people that have only driven real motorcycles just hate going slow. i started riding on a 50cc puch maxi stepthrough moped, yes it was slow but it took me all over the place for pennies, it was freedom :-) Such a simple engine that never failed, but i did replace the bearings and seals, it was a 1978 model so i played safe. I swear the tank was being topped up with petrol behind my back, as it took so little to run lol. My briggs&stratton lawn mower takes more than the puch ha ha :-D The honda c90 commuter bikes had that odd front suspension, it was wierd.
I know how you feel. A grandmother passed me in her electric wheelchair and yelled "get OFF the street LOSER!" I would have done something about it, but her tattoos told me its best to let things be.
I got one free from my co-worker and it runs great and has a new seat and I bought a new spark plug and a new carburetor. but yours is loud but my elite is quiet.
The Honda Silverwing FSC600 Scooter, are Excellent!! Plenty of Power 600cc twin cylinder fuel injection, they are excellent runners good comfort and good handling too, as well as good Brakes.
It should be faster than 45 mph, I have a Honda Scoopy (50 cc) that goes 45 mph without any problems. Maybe a good service and a tune up would make yours a lot quicker? Very good video!
No its mph, I've been working on motorcycles mopeds scooters atv's ect for 20 years I know what I'm doing. the problem he's having is he didn't clean the 30 year old grease out of the varator and replace the roller weights he shouldn't be doing a review on a machine that's not running in optimal condition
I had a Honda elite as a kid as a Feild bike. Problem was it would die over rough terrain. Assumed the float in the carb was bouncing and killing the air fuel ratio. I wonder if that was true or not.
Obviously the open road really isn't where the elite 80 is gonna shine. Put it in an urban setting and it's a different story. I lived in Key West and scooters rule there. Want some scooter fun? Ride a helix 250. Imagine sitting on a couch doing 80mph.
I have three of these and they are pretty good scooters. I wish there were more aftermarket parts out there for them, like the Ruckus. Around here they can be had for 500-600 all day. I paid 700 for my 2001. My 1999 was only $150.
If u can find the older aero80 which was 2 stroke. That sucker did wheelues for me as a teenager. Put passenger pegs down and did wheelies till i wanted to put it down was perfect balance point.
Me and couple friends went threw a scooter fad lol we had China put big bore kits on them I had a 80cc on mine friend we put a 100cc kit on it i ended up with a jonway 150cc which run around 65mph after a few modes that was 4 years ago I got a 85 yamaha 1000 Virgo converted single carb very fast bike didn't run when I got it had to put a cdi box on it and re jet the carb un hook the boost sensor box vacuum line fixed it
In a video he said he was in the Sacramento area and a lot of you recognize where he’s at, is it Ione? By APG Paintball and Rancho Seco? I was in Ione the other day staying at a friends place, I sure miss California a lot but what a mess it has turned into, I love living in a free state like Nevada and I’m surrounded by other California refugees.
Nice scoot.. you could probably get a few more mph out of it with a better tune or Maybe a new belt. My stock 65cc China scoot will hit 45/50 with enough room lol
Hello "JG". I really enjoyed this video and how you came about to own your "Elite 80" scooter. A very worthwhile piece of low tech transport says I! The ch80 is lots of fun. Some tuning and a few new parts this thing can top at 60-65mph easy. Just need a big bore kit if they have them for the 80 not sure i think there is one.. Nope ch80 top at 45 stock because 4cycle engines dont make much power like 2 cycle 50ccs

There is no bore kit for the ch80. There is for the 50 and the 125.
A 150cc gy6 should do 65 without mods. Barley but it should get there
When did they make a big bore kit for the 125 it was only made for 1 year before it was replaced with the 150

What are u wearing on your wrist? Love your videos...
My ch80 does 50mph it has some kick on the takeoff. My friend bought 1 it went 45 I call mine the presidential model lol...
*The engine & power-train are deliberately 'de-tuned' by Honda, and with some minor performance upgrades from Pollini & Malossi that 80 will easily top-out at 50mph especially
if the jetting is changed-up two-sizes on the primary & secondary jetting*
*Use 10/40 full-synthetic engine-oil and the highest-octane fuel you can get, and adding a
wind-screen will give you a 2 to 3mph boost of itself because the air-flow will be much smoother at higher speeds*
*All of those things can be done without damaging or altering the engine...and if 45 to 50mph
is not enough, you need something bigger because the wheel-base, tires, and brakes are not
meant for speeds higher than that*
*ps That scoot sounded like shit in the garage...badly in need of 'TLC' from someone who appreciates not having to walk or ride a bus*
I have the factory windscreen it definitely slows you down. I get 1 mph more without it
