I tried it, but I'm gonna be honest, I disliked the binary options and sometimes unclear or stupid questions; like one of them basically sounded like: which is better: being logical or a crybaby. I get what the question boils down to, but even being a feeler doesn't mean I am unable to understand that thinkers are a thing? Or like, I'm unorganized and like intuitive stuff, but I know I need some structure to keep me concentrated on tasks I don't like, or if it's events with friends, I need a clear date to emotionally charge up enough as an introvert.
Tier 6-specifically “can’t stop thinking about type“ is what prohibits me from swapping my snorkel gear for my scuba gear. I love the thumbnails for the different tiers, btw.
I'm an ENTP at mid-tier 6 and it sucks lmao. I've had my ego shattered randomly because of a random thought that led me down a rabbit hole with an unfavorable outcome. I think I'll forget about it in a few months hopefully, but inf Si might be a beach.
As INTJ I think there are levers that can switch attention. If you don't want to think about something interesting, think about something more interesting. such as creating a cozy garden in the backyard, making a show, traveling and so on
@@mokshalani8414 It's easy. Nothing matters so basically just enjoy mbti, the memes, everything. Don't take it too seriously and do whatever you fell like doing. Live, laugh, cry, all that stuff. Do this and you'll get off the rabbit hole. An infp advice for ya.
Everything in tier 5 and some aspects in tier 6 apply to me. It was really interesting to see the progress divided into different levels. I can totally see myself in all those levels, earlier when I didn't know that much about mbti. It's nice to know how far I've already come. Being deep into myers briggs sure is both a blessing and a curse.
For me I'm Tier 4. I remember how I got into MBTI. I've been obsessed with the Introvert/Extravert differences and how I related to the Introverts 'soo much', so naturally I'd Google "Introvert Memes", "things Introverts relate too", etc and I cam across FJ. Time after I got to know FJ's channel and came across his MBTI videos. My first thought was "this looks so cool, but I don't understand the letters:( It's definitely something I might be interested in", and in true INTP fashion, a got hooked, fell in the rabbit hole, and do this, haven't come out. At first, I would watch FJ's videos, think "Oh, I relate to this type, perhaps I'm an "s". What's "s"? ..."Sensor"? Maybe, oh wait, I relate to "j"". I'd memorise what the letters were, and make notes on type stereotypes and see which I relate to., and eventually learn the types I took 16 Personalities, passed through the "-t/-a" phase, learned the website is inaccurate, live through a mistype, and pass through the Tiers. I'd get regular doubts on my type afterwards, until it stuck. Learned about the functions, and that everyone shows traits of other types, so it's not all black and white.
Also INTP (still having some doubts but at this point I'm almost certain of it and I'm like ugh I hate my type, why can't I be ENTJ), somewhere between tier 5 and tier 6. A year ago I was at about tier 2 or something but I started diving deep once I started typing my characters because I was like "Oh this character must be an ESTP but how do I know for sure he's an ESTP?" Then I got deep down into cognitive functions and whenever I'm writing I'm thinking "now this character is using their Ni in this scene, the other is using their Se and that makes them clash." I am also annoyed by people who compare MBTI to astrology, I mean sure, MBTI has its flaws but most of the time those people have surface knowledge and base their opinion on stereotypes instead of trying to dive deeper and understand that MBTI is more of a tool to understand your cognitive process and it's less arbitrary than say, believing that everyone born in the same month shares the same personality. And I've seen plenty of people going into MBTI subreddits and saying "everyone here is mistyped" and I just think it's funny because they're typing other people merely by their posts and unless you interact with someone on a daily basis you cannot see a consistent pattern that allows you to arrive at a sensible conclusion about their type.
I normally don't watch the more educational stuff you do, but wanted to say that the way this was filmed and edited made me so much more into it. Great work.
When he said that there was something in tier 6 he didn’t want to mention I expected it to be the theory that includes the polr function AKA the blind spot
Regarding the 6th tier: as an INFJ, there was a moment I hated the Extraverted Feeling. I found it very tiresome and limiting. I wished to focus more on myself, my needs and to stop ignoring my problems. Recently I've learned to treat function stack as superpowers, kinda like the ones the X-men have. The functions are great on their own, but it is not a good idea to use it all the time without limits. Now I know the Fe is actually a gift :)
I started hating the Inferior Se. But I know world is all about balance and trade offs. So I accepted it as a weakness. Along with all the weakness and blessings Ni and Fe brings. -INFJ But haha XD the way you treat the functions as superpowers, sure shows that INFJs have a weird way to think about things. And always in the big picture, they are never satisfied with one time solution.
@@LordNNero Same. Having Se as inferior really gets in my ways of being efficient everytime. But unlike you, I don't accept it as a weakness. I know that even if it is an inferior, it is still in me, and for years, I am trying to utilize it on daily basis. I am not successful on regularly using it as it exhausts me more than usual but I believe it's worth the effort (altho unnecessary stress is one of the results of doing so.). But this difference in approach is normal. I am a xNTx(constant improver) anyways. I even like to think that *"Weakness is a social construct"* (I know, it's an unhealthy mentality but it is just me anyways, and it exists just to discipline myself more). INTJ.
INTJ here. The visual typing is so accurate, yesterday I went to do an exam and the moment I saw this guy enter the room I thought “This is the most INTP person I’ve ever known”. I mean, when I finished my exam I laid down on the table to get some sleep, I looked up and I saw him doing the same thing. What’s more INTP than that? MBTI is really funny sometimes
My INFJ daughter gave me a test and has accurately typed me as a ENFP. She has been right about the type she said everyone was so far, as per your sketch videos (at least all the ones I’ve seen so far).
I'm now at level 4 or 5 But as you defined, I do not want to go to level 6 But the information you provided was really great so that I could do my job better and better I teach programming on my UA-cam channel and as it was defined, this information really helps me to teach better and better attract the interest of the audience. Thank you very much
I'm probably at 1.5, not even a solid 2. Sort of like my bra size, no desire to really fill a bigger cup. Too time consuming. I am interested in how blood types, Chinese zodiac, Vedic astrology and all the other typing things intertwine. They all affect personality. Just like I want to be thorough with everything, and it just gets way too overwhelming and I give up. Like reading the Bible, feel like I've should also read the removed books of the Bible in the oldest format I can understand, and read the book of Mormon, the Quran, the Torah, the Nag Hammadi, the Gospel of the Holy Twelve, Emerald Tablets of Thoth, and so many others. How can you understand if you don't read them all?
@@erikadavis21 First of all, this video is very helpful in recognizing the levels of awareness about a topic Which helps me to say things so that people who learn from me can reach lower levels easily and with sufficient knowledge. The second was about how I explained things in a way that all personality types could understand. Of course, it was not related to this video, but knowing the personality types really helped me a lot If you are curious my character type is intj
@@recoveringsoul755 It depends on how curious you really are about it The more curious you are, the more motivated you are to research and do it (This is what I do in my training, I can easily arouse a person's curiosity about a subject with a lot of research I have done) If you want to know how to arouse your curiosity You can work on fortifications and structures engraved in your mind Try to convince your mind with logical reasons that this is an interesting and useful topic You will find that after a while your motivation to do that work or research on that topic gradually increases This is exactly what I did with my mind For a long time I tried to make difficult issues interesting and exciting to my mind And after that I can not stop searching Google for various issues and I am always looking for a new issue to solve and I really enjoy solving these issues
Whoa. That's very impressive and extensive. I've always thought of myself (and many, many others) as a student of life, so to speak. I'm fascinated with MBTI in relation (if any😉) with cluster b personally disorders. Narcissistic Personality, Borderline, Histrionic, etc plus the comorbidities... All relating to a new umbrella term under C-PTSD coming after the DSM 5. Anyway, your comment is why I bother to read the comments here and there. Your interests are fascinating and impressive in their depth and I'm glad you're out there experiencing them.
As an INTP, learning about MBTI has been quite the dangerous development hahaha. Although MBTI likely does not have enough parameters to accurately define and classify every neurotypical human, it's a fascinating guideline that has led me to a significant amount of self knowledge. I'm not 100% sure if it is a "psuedoscience" or not, but I believe that many people can gain a lot of self insight by finding out their type. Typing yourself raises a lot of introspective and existential questions about psychology that are at least fun to think about. It's important to remember though that your personality is NOT made entirely of four traits and a few cognitive functions. Everyone's personality is nuanced and specifically unique. MBTI is just a generalization and it is not an end all be all. It's more like a spectrum of traits and functions rather than concrete ones.
Its a soft science. hard sciences are proven facts but a good chunk of pyschology is soft science in which we dont have the tools necessary to hard prove these things exist. and yes the 8 functions dont define your entire personality they serve to define the specifics aspects of your cognition patterns. for example it obv doesnt explain childhood trama or how you adapted to the world.
Please do a video on mid-life crises. I'm a 45yo INTP who's been more and more in touch with my inferior Fe, and it'd be very informative to see you explain this process for all types.
As I have aged I think I have become less and less in touch with my inferior Si... or at least right now highly malfunctioning.... if you have not seen this one, He does have a video on type development ua-cam.com/video/1I18hsgbEt0/v-deo.html
@@carissahill3414 Thanks. I had watched that one already. What I mean would be more specific, although I'm not quite sure how to phrase that specificity...
As an INFP I've noticed that only after reaching tier 7 was the best thing that has ever happened to me since getting into MBTI. Everyone uses all of the functions just a little more than others, as you get older you use the weaker functions regardless of whether you practice them or not. Life just works out that way. It's nice to revisit MBTI videos once and a while, and the community is the most accepting that I have experienced.
14:45 Oh! This reminds me of something I heard about Fe types and Fi types when they compliment someone.. For example Fe be like: "You're really talented and wonderful!" And Fi be like: "This thing that you have done is really good because you did it in this way....(*explains more reasons..*)."
INFJ > INFP > ISFJ > INTJ > INTP ......I finally found my type .......as an INTP... I'm clearly in the fourth stage....but the 6 stage is somehow relatable in the past few days....Haha I won't regrets this....Thanks for this video..FJ💗❤💕💖💗💝💞💟
For me it's more like: INFJ>>INFJINFP>>>>INFJ>>>>>INFJ>>ISFJ>>>INFJINFJ>ISFJ>INFJ..I give up I wish there was a way I can really know what my type is..
I love this so much. One of my best friends is like a 5 and halfway to 6. He went so far as to write a 60 page paper about everything in detail. Oh and did I mention he wrote the paper for fun. Then after he writes the paper, he explains everything to me bringing my level from a 2 to a 4. All while my SE hero is trying to jump ship every 3 and a half seconds cuz it got bored of his explanations. Lol Keep up the great vids
My first test was done by professional councillors I'm family therapy did few tests over the years always get ENFP never hated my type or wanted to be another I know a bit but not obesessed or into typing others instead I use logic. It's an overall general type rather than an exact mould, there are many factors like upbringing, culture and environmental factors, etc, that help shape a person. It's meant to help not be a rule for life to live by.
Exactly!! Thank you so much for saying that...Its nice to know that some people arn't obsessed over the different personality types. I always have said this is like a core of a person but each persons' background, upbringing and even trauma can shape them and their responses into many areas that have similarities to the other types. We all have many facets to our personality and to lump people into a specific category is narrow minded and just ridiculous. The Meyers Briggs should be taken as helpful info instead of an exact science.... each person is unique and their experiences have shaped them into who they are that cant be stereotyped and put into a tidy box.
@@citygirl999 sorry for the late reply didn't get a dang notification.. Thanks UA-cam.. Yes, see people treating this like astrology like I'm a libra so I can be a dick and it's fine cause it's my personality... Same thing here like take it way too far or add their trauma into it and say but all XFps are like this... Uhh no.. No they not lol
I was ENFP when I first took test, it made no sense to me. Then I learned about MBTI types and cognitive functions then I realized I fit perfectly into ENFJ. As I learned more about MBTI, I discovered myself better. Even found how I can have a career that will be fun and enjoyable even in relationships too. But idk which tier I am in, 4/5/6. Ti always gives me trouble (overthinking/over sensitive) but knowing it helps override it consciously. I would recommend everyone to go deep into personality type to enjoy life a bit better.
As an INFP I feel like I am.....far gone... Now I know why I hate my own type and I always try to put everyone into their type. I thought that so I would understand the best way to communicate with them, but...yeah, maybe its all just me being obsessed with MBTI. :) Oh and the FI vs FE smile is so true,. Thank you, FJ.
I am certified and up to my ankles in Tier 5, and I won’t go further. Being a therapist, MBTI is intriguing but insufficient (just as any theory or model would have its strengths and limitations). I need to integrate several other frameworks for understanding human behaviour and helping my clients.
I’m watching this as tier 1, I’m not super interested in learning about this stuff, but I love seeing how my personality type is portrayed in your skits and analysis vids. Also you have great editing and apparently rapping skills.
Lol, I'm in Tier 6. Yeah, I have a hate/love relationship with my type - literally, I was telling my sister how I hated being an INFP and I needed to consciously remind myself that I have an amazing type and I AM capable of meeting my goals or whatever. But yeah, Tier 6 is the worst. But also amazingly cool. AND YES I HAVE GOTTEN INTO VISUAL TYPING IT'S ALSO COOL!!! (But I take it with a grain of salt, of course.)
Frank, I was thinking, "When will he say, 'soon you'll start to wonder if the mind is even real'". Then you said, "Is any of this real?" Honestly did not think I'd be at the bottom of the iceberg as an ESFJ. It happened just like you said, read Briggs Meyers book, read an introduction to Jung, read "Man and His Symbols" and just finished "The Psychology of the Unconscious Processes." All the Continental I read in undergrad is going to lead me straight to the "there is no mind" conclusion. 😬 Still, rocking this FJ stickers on my bottles and enjoying your content.
I can safely say that I'm currently advancing from Tier 3 to Tier 4, since I've recently started learning more about the cognitive functions, I start relating to some of them and just a few days ago I got into the mistype theory. Even I recently found out I was a mistyped INFJ that proved to be an ISFP in reality, beating down any prejudices I've had about Sensing Types. I admit that Tier 6 scares me.
I feel like I am a Tier 4.5 in general but a tier 6 in regards to my own type (INTP). I also feel like the walking stereotype of an INTP myself. Very informative, I am proud to be a niche expert on yet another topic!
As an intj his is so accurate, we be searching for all types of knowledge and we be wanting to find every inch of the way everything operates and I can say I anylaze all the 16 mbti personalities, my twin bro(who is an enfj) managed to convince me to take it and since then I was obsessed cuz it literally explained why I am the way I am. Where my architects at? Comment below(other types are free to do so as well).
This is totally a stereotype but every INTP I know (including myself) wears glasses. It makes me wonder if there is something sub conscious about physically appearing like the stereotype of a personality type that causes people to be more likely to mistype to that type.
I'd say I'm still tier 4 but already adopted few things from tiers below. It's probably because I'm INTJ, I'm certain about it and thus for me it's natural to be open-minded and see patterns in other people. However MBTI is more like hobby to me than field of study so I don't bother myself with reading hard psychology stuff . Btw. I have love-hate relationship with my Te 😅
@@erikdekker1 yeah, I personally like psychology and mostly I like whatever typology (be it MBTI or color schemes, lol). However I feel that if I want to go deeper in MBTI, I need broader knowledge in psychology, so I don't think I'll ever reach tier 6. Despite this I think we tend to go deeper in whatever field than most people in general.
@@Jooney91 Probably my Ne and Fe functions. Ne because it makes me spend way too much time on "educational procrastination" and also because when I have options that makes me indecisive. Fe because I always end up thinking I'm going insane for having normal emotional reactions to things, and comparing my emotional responses to those of "normal" people, and hoping that if I ignore my problems they will go away.
I use MBTI to gain a deeper understanding of neurology and neuropsychology so, at that point, it gets interesting if you use it trans-contextually to gain multiple perspectives of different areas. Never let this personality typing system trick you into thinking in a categorical way (your brain loves that) because it could be dangerous for your mental health. Really, there is much more than just MBTI. Just sayin that, do whatever you want. But y'all are warned.
I went through all of those phases, everything you said applied to me and my journey, except I didn't read the original work of Carl Jung (I know stuff about it though) and I don't know that much about visual typology... I'm a neerrrd hahaha
Lol - this is so helpful for curbing typing angst! I was at ~tier 3, borderline 4 (discovering the cognitive functions & wondering if I'd been mis-typed??), before I came to this wonderful channel; now I'm solidly at tier 4 :), seeing indeed that everyone does everything, and sliding emotionally (through INFP Fi?) towards tier 6 (especially about kicking against my own type, and also seeing type now in EVERY tv show I watch, lol!). But I have definitely skipped the good research of tier 5, lol! :) So I need to learn more, lol!! Thanks for making all of us in the MBTI community feel so seen, no matter what level of the iceberg we are at! And, your educational videos are so helpful - I have binged them all over the last month or so, lol!! MBTI as seen and explained through FJ's eyes, rock on! :)
I've graduated from an infj to intj-t. Meaning my truest self. Feels good, better, freeing, don't put up with narc's, more than a minute Now. I'm not afraid to be alone anymore but am content. Although want that special person in my life with equity. I'm more on top of my evaluations and no need to second guess myself. So calming, maybe grounding is helping me, since I've been over the top absolutely highest anxiety, sooo enjoying being calm and thinking through the up and downs of daily life. Balance, is a good thing. Not over- spending my energy, at this point. Not over thinking, driving myself to the brink. But still analyzing and evaluating and thinking out side the box. I'm still me but Better 🥳 thank you for reminding me about the personality tests. I was infactically more prone to answering with an unfiltered honesty. Thanks FJ.
This is such a good video! It really shines light on what it's like to be deep into not only mbti, but any unique system used for understanding the world & people. The 'blessing & a curse' side of almost like, not being able to unsee it is so real. Awesome vid!
Dude your videos have just kept on getting better and better! Also I love your sense of humor, feels like some of Jreg's style rubbed off on you too lol. keep up the great work!
That sponsorship ad was cringe yet fun. 😂🤣 Nice job getting me to actually listen to it! You mentioning the 16personalities not being a true MBTI test reminded me of someone who is writing an autobiography and this is exactly where she got hers and is using seriously and I just can't. 🙃
Tier 4 with a sprinkle of 6? - i.e. I try to type people in real life (but not out loud, just for funsies) and on tv shows etc, and don't care if it's all fake, it's still interesting to me - and I have a giggle when someone seems like a textbook type!
I don't think this 16 Personalities Iceberg video could be made without all your 5 years of hard work and humility. The 15:23 "The fact that it's inconsistent makes you want to figure it out so you just think about it all the time." showed how much you are in the know. I am at the Tier 6 "It might be real. It might not be real. I still find it interesting. And I'm still going to use it." Glad you posted the links in the pinned comment. Can't tell if it's running gag for a thumbnail to not show up but it's hilarious to keep guessing. This was an awesome video, and with the way your lesson plans are going, people are probably going to get higher in the tiers so this is going to be a monumental video. As a big Meyers and Briggs nerd, glad to have you as our boy! That 16 Personalities After School INFJ segment is you. You're a legend, Frank!
Gonna get you on your other post.... But the thumbnails not appearing might be your viewer issue... meaning reboot? "Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
@@carissahill3414 Thanks! See ya there! And with the thumbnails, it's all my devices, but they show up at the end of the video just not the ones in the middle of the video. I thought it was a running gag? Because it has showed up for me a couple times and the first time I saw it, I wrote a comment and got likes so I thought he might have forgotten or was continuing a gag since he's had so many going for the past 5 years.
Omg the way frank described this journey I've gone on down the iceberg is so accurate. I doubted my type at the start plainly because I didn't understand how mbti worked. Kept typing as intj and fell under the I'm an intj spell. Then I discovered good old jung and cognitive functions and starting doubting my type more and more and mbti as a whole. Eventually settled for being an entp as it made the most sense but then theres also enfp, infp and entj so I came to the conclusion that maybe there's something not quite developed enough in mbti theory?
This is great and will probably encourage others to drop their gatekeeping keys and dig further with an open mind. Thank you for always working to improve others.
My daughter quizzes me all day with saying "what do you think (insert celebrity or acquaintance) personality is?" I have gotten one wrong out of hundreds...so tier six here🤚😑😬
I can't type at all, I've studied the cognitive functions but still can't seem to be able to pinpoint them on other people correctly. How do you do that?
I'm at tier 6, awesome 🤣🤣 at this point i'm always piecing together my life situations and social interactions by types. The whole 16p thing really did help me unearth a lot about myself. I've tested infp from the start and that's what i've always been to this day. When i'm applying type to my life i don't necessarily use it as a strict guideline (doesn't account for nurture), yet if you watch enough you do seem to find counterbalances in how people percieve/make decisions in the world (cognitive axes) and it can be a great tool when applied properly. It's helped me so much in developing my relationships and communicating in ways others will be receptive to and understand. It's helped me rationalize everything that goes on in my head so i can actually find some way to express it. That's no small thing. It's also helped me tackle some of my biggest insecurities, fears, and doubts. I was in Te grip for years, but i'm me now and i'm keeping it that way. Very much worth the journey. Thank you for all you do FJ 👌
I'm in Tier 2, sticking my snorkel mask down into Tier 3, but I'm Tier 6 in the sense that I want to be a different type. I mean, it's hard enough being an INFP without Frank always talking about us at the end of all the videos. 😆
Realizing being a wild fool in the forest allowed me to put on a mermaid tail and just swim right on down to the "Under the Sea" party to repeatedly pop back up to party with the forest dwellings who ignorantly think I am a JUST a wild fool. Thanks for the video Frank! Love your ads! And insight!

A year ago I was at about tier 2 or something but I started diving deep once I started typing my characters because I was like "Oh this character must be an ESTP but how do I know for sure he's an ESTP?" Then I got deep down into cognitive functions and whenever I'm writing I'm thinking "now this character is using their Ni in this scene, the other is using their Se and that makes them clash."
I am also annoyed by people who compare MBTI to astrology, I mean sure, MBTI has its flaws but most of the time those people have surface knowledge and base their opinion on stereotypes instead of trying to dive deeper and understand that MBTI is more of a tool to understand your cognitive process and it's less arbitrary than say, believing that everyone born in the same month shares the same personality.
I know right. I find myself between Tier 5 and 6 likewise.
I normally don't watch the more educational stuff you do, but wanted to say that the way this was filmed and edited made me so much more into it. Great work.
They are not that educational. You can make your system of personalities if you want
pls do a 16 personalities when they are with their best match. that's would be nice. thanks for your hard work!
That's hilarious, cause in this video Frank said that there is no such a thing like ideal partner-type
When he said that there was something in tier 6 he didn’t want to mention I expected it to be the theory that includes the polr function AKA the blind spot
Same I was expecting him to talk about things like shadow functions and CPT.

The cloverleaf ad needs a vdo of its own. I can watch it all day.
We agree!
-INFJ
But haha XD the way you treat the functions as superpowers, sure shows that INFJs have a weird way to think about things. And always in the big picture, they are never satisfied with one time solution.
Haha same. I have this hate love relationship to my Fe ^^
INTJ.

The video I never knew I needed

Thank you very much
So do you present your information in a way that could be understood by the different types or what do you mean?
@@erikadavis21 First of all, this video is very helpful in recognizing the levels of awareness about a topic

I'm far from a noob tbh lol mbti or no mbti you're my favourite youtuber everrrr

Oh! This reminds me of something I heard about Fe types and Fi types when they compliment someone..

As entp I also don't hate my type. Heck, it's one of the most popular types.

Oh and the FI vs FE smile is so true,.
Okay, the effort put into this rap song is *chef's kiss**
This INFP is currently in Tier 4, but has probably wandered around somewhere Tier 5 and 6, then got back up again involuntary and totally by chance.
Do the video in vultology! Let's get in deep with FJ...
I have such a dirty mind..

This is totally a stereotype but every INTP I know (including myself) wears glasses. It makes me wonder if there is something sub conscious about physically appearing like the stereotype of a personality type that causes people to be more likely to mistype to that type.

@@Jooney91 Probably my Ne and Fe functions. Ne because it makes me spend way too much time on "educational procrastination" and also because when I have options that makes me indecisive. SO ACCURATE!! AMAZING!

Tier 4 with a sprinkle of 6? - i.e. I try to type people in real life (but not out loud, just for funsies) and on tv shows etc, and don't care if it's all fake, it's still interesting to me - and I have a giggle when someone seems like a textbook type!
Just because it is psuedoscience does not make it fake... One needs to dive deep into the science iceberg though to realize this fact.
Last time I watched this video I was at tier 4
Few weeks had passed, I'm now on the last one
