Keep that head up big dawg! Love the content and the fact that you’re showing us the struggles of being a new kayak angler says a lot ! Regardless how many fish you catch you’re still teaching us and we’re learning from your experiences !
My brother was the Port Director of Port Isabel for over 25 years..... I went Red Snapper fishing from San Padri Island. It was Great. Aand the beaches are beautiful..
On the kayak, unplanned things are always gonna come up. Just have a plan b,and c. Check wind direction also and plan trips accordingly. Looks like the winds are out of the north there, so the tides are building up as they head to Arturo Galvan.
Some advice, do some research before jumping in because it can be a money pit. Try out a few yaks at demo days. Save up for the one you want. I got a Hobie compass when I really wanted an Outback, and now I want that Old Town autopilot. 😂 money pit
Bro, you chose a tough spot. The wind and swell direction is tough to deal with and there isn’t much structure to concentrate on. Try out The Shores, Arroyo, or drift the flats from the causeway to the north. You’d be surprised what you can catch on a slow drift with a drift sock on your kayak.
Your first two trips have been in rough conditions. Don't give up. Try behind convention center or by the Causeway. Thats where I started. Then you build your confidence and hit other places.
As you can see from comments here, watching all the things that come up while kayaking is interesting content. Don't feel that you have to catch fish to have a successful video. There are a lot of new kayakers the watch and learn by from every trip.

Great video bro. Keep it up. All outings are a learning experience, even if you've been doing it for many years. Fisherman learn on every outing
