Best actual triceps is Phil and Roelly hands down, best at actually hitting the side tricep pose is Yates, IDK how but that man made the best of his flaws.
i believe strongly that he is the best just imagine if he had genetics like heath or levrone he would without a doubt be 10 time mr olympia. he had genetic flaws and so many set backs and still managed to dominate the competition. he is underrated im my opinion, just like jay
Yates has shitty shoulders so as good as he looks in the pose, he’s not the best to do it. I’d give it to Phil Heath because he has greater quads and shoulders than Dorian. Roelly doesn’t hit it conventionally but I think he’d beat Phil if he ever does.
@@yousefassayed5354 phil looks akward in the side tricep. His shoulders hunges forward and his gut(even back in 2011) petrudes in the pose. Is it the best on in modern bodybuilding? Yes. All time? No.
@@Laksegrateng99 then what’re your thoughts on Kevin levrone side tricep in ‘95? Better shoulders and chest, tighter mid section and almost identical hamies. He even has the better triceps so is Yates winning this pose only because of his calves..?
I would give it to Dorian. His shoulders were shit from the front, but very good from the side and the back. His triceps was also amazing in side chest. Jay is a close second just because he looked a bit soft, not the best conditioning, triceps not ripped enough
Yeah it was close. Reason I didn't give to Yates is because I don't rly like his chest or thick waist in this pose. But for sure he is one of the best to ever hit it. Jay exactly what you say, never hard enough, conditioning was always his weakness.
11 : 30 kaze sve kao i slika sa kolemanom i kormierom , ta estetika separacija taj flow niko nikad nije imo , mozda kevin shawn i dorian mogu prici ali to je to
The reason Yates looks so good in the side tricep and not the front double, is because there are 3 heads in the triceps, and 2 of them are noticeable on a physique. His inner head is small, but the outer head looks great, giving him a great side tricep pose
26:10. Right here is my favorite side tricep of all time, and especially when you have the muscle bellies to hit it effectively, with the balloonish arms, that sharp midsection even though Bonac's abs look faded in front poses, the thick full pecks, the almost boulder like delt, and if you look closer at the traps there also kinda popping out, the super low lats, and this guy doesn't lack anything in the lower body either, just look at those calves.
uneven conditioning (look at the crispness in the legs compared to oily watery upper body). Very high insertions in the triceps and almost a pancake tricep, legs too small for the upper body, tattoos hurt him bad, pencil forearms. He's also very short and would get absolutely dwarfed by the likes of Jay or Dorian on stage. He can look impressive all he wants in individual pictures, it's what standing next to another competitor on stage that really counts.
@@dj_m19 The lower body kind of overpowers the upper body honestly. And pancake triceps? Disagree there mate. They're not Roelly or Phil level but certainly aren't close to pancakes. Plus the dude said favorite not best ever. In favorite the aesthetic plays a bigger role. While I don't disagree with everything you say sometimes you really go out of your way to bring the IFBB judging system into an individual's opinion on what his or her favorite is and that's completely wrong because the IFBB judging system isn't built around pleasing lines or aesthetics.
@@samraizshoaib585 don't think so, he has good quads in this shot but his hamstrings are practically nonexistent. Lack of sweep. Glutes are meh also. @@samraizshoaib585 and that's exactly why I said "close to a pancake". Not a true pancake, but well on its way to be one. Weak separation. By separation I mean the outline of the tricep head, he has good size and fullness but it's all just one mass, you know, like people with 20+ percent BF that have big arms but you can't tell where a tricep begins and ends and where a bicep begins and ends because their separation is bad and it's all just one big chunk of mass. 26:34 Even Kai who was considered to have very weak insertions and separation is destroying Bonac's. 26:40 this is proper separation, Yates doesn't have a ton of mass but you can see his horseshoe clearly separated and are poking you in the eyes.
Well done. Including some of the older guys from the 60's and 70's was great and their triceps looked incredible. Fair comparison with some of the modern guys too... Nassar, Wheeler, Samir, Beckles....and DeMayo for the win. Love it.
Great video my guy. Would've myself kicked Markus to the group with ronnie coleman kai greene Shawn rhoden and Dennis wolf and replaced him with Paul Demayo but otherwise a decent list you put up. Really enjoyed this type of a video, a breath of fresh air
The guy at 3:30 has the same exact genetics as Paul Demayo with the square and shallow shape of the chest and the tricep popping off the back of his arm in the side tricep.
I know exactly what you are saying about Dorian Yates having garbage arms but some how looking great in the side triceps pose... that's because his lateral and medial and long heads takes up almost all the space in his triceps area not leaving any room for tendon space. Most other people you can see more tendon showing because maybe their lateral is not as developed, or the medial head isn't as develop... or the way they attach (high e.g). If you look @ Kevin Levrone's side triceps he has a very well developed lateral head but his long head doesn't protrude or isn't as developed as Dorians.
There was a body builder working for Joe Weider, writing and such who had awesome tri's that you left out, his name was Rick Wayne , if I remember correctly.
