    My Cut Red's haven't cracked so the Red is the GOAT for me for $1 balls.

    Despite not being updated/improved, it is damn good ball by stats. actually this sure fits my game.
    From the season 4 data so far,
    - Very high Smash factor throughout the clubs; 1st place with 7i, 3rd place with 5h & driver. Very efficient.
    - Well above average in distance; 3rd place with 7i & driver
    - Spin is about the average.
    I will soon have to run Cut DC against B'stone Tour XS which has similar smash factor & distance but extremely low spin.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  3 місяці тому +1

      I did notice the smash factor was really high. Just couldn't get consistent regular shots to show an increase in distance. In hind sight the DC is a great option for fast swingers but it's definitely for advanced players

    Love seeing GBA cat. Let the cat out for all the putting portions of the videos. People love cats and dogs.
    I like the Red, Grey, and DC. I think the DC has the best durability of any urethane golf ball on the market. I easily get three rounds or more out of the ball, sometimes as much as five rounds, and I am very fussy about the look, and feel of my golf ball as it racks up holes. The smallest flaw or imperfection and the ball is relegated to practice or “crazy shot” status. (Crazy shots are ones when the course is not crowded and I may drop a ball on the hole I am playing and hit a shot at another green on a different hole on the course that is a good look or a great challenge, and then I don’t bother going and getting the ball if it was a green that was “behind or before” the hole I am actually playing. This one has better durability than most two piece Surlyn or ionomer balls, except for maybe some of the matte Surlyn and ionomer balls. But, (there’s the “but”) I do feel like on the driver and 3 wood, the DC doesn’t “hold” its peak height as well as most other balls and seems to start descending a tiny fraction of a second early. It does seem to roll out a bit more from its lower flight and possible shallower decent and impact, but it still looks just a little “off” on the driver and 3 wood. I haven’t noticed more side spin, but I will look for that next time I tee up the DC.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  3 місяці тому +1

      LOL yes people seem to really be enjoying the cat. I'll try to put him on more video.

    I know this ball was reviewed just after you came out with your ten longest balls video, but your numbers for the carry of the 7 iron, the 5 hybrid, and the driver (168.9. +186.4+233.4=588.7) would make it the number one, longest ball, wouldn’t it? I have felt like I can hit this ball a little bit further, in my own experiences with it. Did I misunderstand your distance “rules” or did I make a mistake with my addition? I feel like this ball deserves a little more attention and consideration, and it is underrated.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  21 день тому +1

      I have to go back and take a look but you're probably not far off. Also keep in mind my swing speeds increase a little this year. So there's that too. There might be a little extra math involved. The cut DC actually did really well. I'm just not a fan of the feel or the forgiveness

    Such a bummer Cut hasn't figured out the Cut Blue.
    Really interesting, thorough review, as always...but I think I need to speak up a little for Cut.
    I agree that the Cut Grey isn't AMAZING, but I do think it's pretty dang good. So, my minor beef with your overall assessment against the Cut brand is that Cut has made the same good balls (minus the Blue) for four years and the Cut Grey can be had for $20 every day, year in, year out. Is the Vice Pro Air a better ball? Yes, but it's $13 more per dozen (unless I bulk buy, of course).
    Everything in golf (and life) has gotten more expensive...not Cut golf balls. With that, I think the Cut brand should get a little more love and a little less shade.
    Thanks!

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  3 місяці тому +2

      Yeah that's not a bad take. Here's a couple things I would add though.
      One, that $20 price point will be gone soon. $25 will be the standard starting next year across all platforms from what I've been told. Which granted is still a great price. But the days again for 20 dollars will come to an end.
      I don't have an issue with the gray at all. It's definitely the only golf ball I feel truly comfortable recommending right now out of the whole lineup. For average swingers at least.
      However, and I mentioned this in the video. There's just too much competition. And although cut is the cheapest model available, I'm perfectly okay spending an additional $5 per dozen and getting the wright and ditson. Or even the legato. I think they're both light years better than the cut.
      I want cut to be successful. That's also why I'm being a little harsh on them. But to see the same durability issues after 4 years, when now other companies have an entire lineup of absolute bangers. They have a long way to go if they want to get back in the top dog conversation.

      @@GolfBallAddictThe problem and headache is that W&D are making the same balls from where Vice is so they will have limits in meeting their demand and pay quite alot for a dz of balls. As for Legatto, I can say they don't have a factory right now and is selling from their inventory from mid 2023.

      I’ve been to a couple of Walmarts for holiday shopping and checked out the golf ball display of course. It looks like the Cut DC is being phased out at Walmart. Some Walmarts have it at 24.99 (a nice price) and one had it at $15.00 (with a “clearance white shelf price tag) so I picked up a few dozen. How can you go wrong with a golf ball with performance numbers like this for $15 a dozen? That makes a great value and great performance.

  • @biochem70

    Just started watching your videos (top 5 most over/underrated). So in your opinion, for weekend golfers, 3 piece urethane balls are not always better than 2 piece surlyn? I don't lose a lot of balls so I just assumed budget urethane balls were the way to go.

    • @GolfBallAddict
      @GolfBallAddict  3 місяці тому +3

      Welcome to the channel. Glad to have you.
      So it depends on your game. I don't think people should start playing three-piece urethane balls until they can consistently shoot in the low 80s. It also depends on why you're missing strokes. If you have an average of zero to one penalties and out of bounds shots per round, then absolutely I believe you can use a three-piece ball if putting in short game is the issue.
      However if you're still knocking two to three out of bounds or in the water per round. Or more for that fact. Then yes a two-piece golf balls the way to go. They are extremely consistent and forgiving on Miss hits. They help keep them all in the fairway and close to the green even when you hit off the toe a little. I'm personally a seven handicap and I shoot much better with a two-piece ball.

    Yeah Cut DC really didn't have much to offer with the Blues already launched. Total sales of DC is only around 6-7% of all Cut balls. Heads up that Kirkland should have launched a new version. You could be one of the earliest reviewers if they have hit your local stores.

    Played this weekend and used Cut Red balls each person in the group used a sleeve and by the 4th hole all of these balls developed large cracks on the cover. These were purchased from the Cut website. This was disappointing considering all four of us really liked the ball up until that point.

      Well that's definitely the nail in the coffin. Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I know some people aren't having the cut issues, but it looks like plenty of people still are. Just an absolute gut punch for cut. 😞

    • @supersonics3558

      You should ask for a reclacement. That batch was back from 2022 and Cut got a good compensation for that issue from factory. If Cut's website is still selling that stock from 2+ years ago, really they aren't managing anything.

      4 years ago,Cut gave you what you wanted. A cheaper good level ball for us average golfers. I think you had high expectations for this new range. Other manufacturers have caught and surpassed Cut. When you test them,you can only report your thoughts and feelings. I think the range has been a bit disappointing. Find the right ball that suits you and the value is still there. Just not what you hoped for.

    • @fretless05
      @fretless05 3 місяці тому

      @@johnjohn1cooer I started playing Cut years ago, and had started with the Grey. At the time I was losing them fast enough that durability wasn't an issue. It wasn't until I got better at golf and realized that the low compression Grey wasn't working well for me so started looking at other balls in their line; sadly, the Blue isn't it and with the DC being a disappointment, it's going to be another brand.

      @@GolfBallAddict yeah, I had a box of the DCs about 2 months ago. Went through 2 balls on 3 holes. My first full wedge shot tore up the cover and then on the next green I noticed even more cover peeling and a crack. I gave them another go a round later and the same issue with the 2nd sleeve. Ended up binning them after that.
