“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT
Some times it's just nice to sit back and let them run.
Hey Jimmy 👋
First time commenting, so obligatory thank you for your videos as they have been instrumental in helping me understand and be prepared for my first time layout!
As for you wanting to run more trains, I think you should! I absolutely love your op session videos and would enjoy more if I am honest! I particularly enjoy your board game run with those chance rolls. Maybe take a break from how-to for the holidays and just have some fun with your layout 😁
Enjoy the videos. Scale Trains has SD40-2’s in the works with NS among the road names. However, I may get the CSX SD40-3, myself.
I love running around some small passenger cars. With a lovely German br80 😊
Love SD40-2s! Took quite the effort to getting all of the Kato CN and CP units in like new/new condition, but no regrets! 😎👍
Yes! SD40-2's are probably my favorite locomotive out there.
Is that some wire insulation beside the track at 6:01??? Jimmy, say it ain't so....
Beautiful trains and layout my friend
Thanks for a another enjoyable video, you did a nice job capturing the look of North Carolina/Virginia Appalachia on your layout, the Scale Trains sound on the 8888 is spot on, I used to run those engines on the Norfolk Southern before they were retired a few years back, brought back some memories.
Absolutely love the SD40-2. They've always been my favorite loco and I'm a happy owner of several (including a few Broadway limited that I could never part with, but they're not worth the money) - one is a Kato NS in the Maersk scheme. It's a great runner. But those ScaleTrains locos are beautiful - they definitely have the market on quality details at a reasonable price. Would be great if Kato re-released the SD40s in NS again.
NS is my favorite and your layout is fabulous
Jimmy, I certainly can understand why the Kato SD40-2 is your favorite locomotive. I have one on my layout, and can say that they are the best runners. (I had 2 but dropped one on the floor). ...Roiy
Do you have any steam locomotives in your collection?
Nice Run 👍😁 OperateOnOperator
I have the same KATO SD70M 2588, in Non DCC 😎🎉 love the way the KATO units run out of the box!
thanks for sharing!
Love the SD40-2's. I have 5 I think from 4 different road names in HO Scale. Two of them are ScaleTrains Operator NS locomotives and they are just the best!
Love running coal trains and intermodals that run in and out of Norfolk, VA where I used to live and RailFan.
That being said, I'm slowly saving up for my first ever N scale train: Looking to get a Kato CSX ES44AC... and it will eventually pull an Atlas Tropicana Trinity Reefer train.
Hi Jimmy,
Thanks for sharing your favorite diesels. I have quite a few myself, and recently I've acquired a Life-Like Proto 2000 Norfolk Southern SD60M. Runs great.
As for your coupler issue, you may want to check the coupler height. I'm not sure if there is an N-Scale version of the Kadee height gauge but I'm pretty sure it's out there somewhere. You will need one for MRR2 if you buy something with horn-hook couplers and want to convert to Kadee.
As for passenger consists: Since your road of choice appears to be Norfolk Southern (and definitely nothing wrong with that!), you may want to consider the roads that preceded and eventually became Norfolk Southern (Norfolk & Western, Southern, Nickel Plate Road, Wabash, to name a few).
Take care and keep up the excellent work!
SD 40-2 is one of my favorite locomotives! My first favorite is my U34ch NJDOT Atlas in the Erie Lackawanna Blue bird scheme.
I understand why that Kato unit is your favourite. One can't beat reliability. I have had issues with both BLI and MTH in HO scale. In both cases, replacing chassis and running gear for Kato. The layout is looking great!
Have a Kato Burlington Northern SD40-2 And yes it is the best running engine I have. Keep in mind some of my engines go back 50 years to my childhood days. Love your layout my only say disappointment is the cardboard. Think you could just take it off and it would be better looking with the sky blue! But everything else is absolutely amazing to see! I am absolutely thrilled the way your trestle/bridge looks it fits in perfectly with all around it.
You did a hell of a job on the scenery. Looks great. Love those container cars and boxes. 👍
OMG, I have a Kato SD40-2 in Burlington Northern paint and I love it too! I didn't have to go through as much to get mine as you did, but I just love the look of the SD40-2!
I really like your Scale Trains engine and the SD 40-2. I have a Scale Trains SD 40-2 on pre-order in a BN paint Sceem. Wish I could afford a few more. Keep having fun, Chris
Keep getting fonder of the SD40-2, as they are fading away from class 1 RRs,had to wait years until Kato finally released theirs,Bachman had done one way back, they ran barely, way out of scale, hated them but all I had till Kato saved the day
Hi Jimmy my Favorite #1 Engine Is Burlington Northern Cause where I grew up Burlington Northern Was the Engine.
All of you are lucky to have freight trains running near you I only have the LIRR which is 20mins away NYC. Is 2.5 hours away
Don't we all have "that one locomotive"?
Mine is an Atlas SW1. I can turn the layout on, set the speed to approximately 15mph scale and just let it go, never details, never stalls.
Nice to just run, innit? What, coupler problems? You.Are.Not.Alone
WOW The sound , the power , I can see why 8888 is special . But 1642 is absolutely gorgeous .
Like the channel but hate coffee. Im looking for the release of scale trains n scale SD40-2 next year. One of my favorite engines.
Jimmy convert to Micro Train couplers and your cars will always work together 👍👍👍
Aloha Jimmy I noticed that your trains ran consists of 5 and 6 cars. They looked great and ran well. Did you pick the length at random or because that length looks and runs good on the layout?
Love this model railroad just shows how much detail you can have in a small space. I had a small n scale layout back in the 70's but nothing like this. I love it
I so state the obvious...
...you have only ONE kind of container.
If I really want something on eBay I use auction sniper. I stick with Kato and Atlas unless there are no other options in N scale.
Yes nice running locomotives Jimmy thanks for sharing 👍👍
I wonder if the creators of Arduino could make an alternative to the Mobil Decoder for loco's?
Hello
I do enjoy watching trains run. Thanks for sharing. Have a good day.
Speed matching. Still don't know how that works.
Excellent layout are you strictly N scale I’m sure you said in one of your videos but not sure
Do you have any videos of your big N Scale layout shown here?
The best and most important part about model railroads is running some trains.
Jimmy, that intermodal train is way cool. I am impressed at how well your trains track around that reverse curve at the end of the through truss bridge - those S curves can be challenging for equipment. One suggestion: it is pretty uncommon to see 20 containers together all using the same shipping line name. Spending some time repainting and applying new decals to some of those containers would enhance the visual impact of this train even more.
Brilliant Jimmy. Thank you.
I did enjoy this. The KATO, is an excellent locomotive, in HO scale too, my favorite MFG. I gotta question for you though, your container cars? How did you get ONE, to be 20? See what I did there?🤣🤣🤣🤣 dad joke, I know, but then again, I am a dad!
Thanks for the share!
I really gotta get more containers haha!
@DIY and Digital Railroad we've always gotta buy more? I have way too much rolling stock, and too many locomotives, and no place to run them, (YET!) To be clear, I wasn't being sparky, I love your material, and topics. You got a great channel.
Great video Jimmy! I love the shot of the intermodal train running over the bridge. One suggestion: invest in some diverse intermodal containers to mix it up. I've never seen an intermodal train with such regularity in the containers. :-) But that's just a nit-pick. Your videos are always informative and entertaining, and I am really enjoying the MRR2 build, particularly since my own build is (will be...) HO scale. Keep 'em rolling!
I really need to buy some extra containers haha!
@@DIYDigitalRailroad like your layout lots of scenery lots of NS locomotives for N scale
A great run-thru video Jimmy. As a loco hoarder my favorites video would be about 5 hours😂
🚂🇨🇦🇺🇲🙋
I have bought 3 Broadway Limited Locomotives and 2 stopped running, don't know why could be program.
I bought 4 Athena Big Boys and only one runs and all have thrown their traction tires, I haven't even gotten 3 laps in when they blew. Atlas some look like a box set on train trucks. So Yes with Kato is my best and from now on only.
What I wish is there was a way to buy anything and have Micro Train Couplers on them from the get go.
Sometimes you just have to run some trains.
That was very nice. Thanks.
Thanks great presentation
Fasfugengrooven, ja!
Very Cool!!
Always fun to watch the trains. I think we all have that one favorite engine that we like to run whenever we can. Mine is an Athearn CF7 decorated in Sante Fe.
It's nice to see your layout in action. Had a great time rail fanning. Thanks
It’s always nice to see trains running!
