The odd part is when this was first released in 1981, it barely made it into the charts at 79. Then after it was featured on an 80's sitcom called "Family Ties," the single was re-released and went to #1...

Glad someone requested this song. Great reaction. It pulls on my heart strings. I don't know if it is because it is Alex and Ellen's song on Family Ties.
Great song, heard it a thousand times, and the strangest thing is that I always and only heard the Live version 😂
For me this will be forever associated with Alex and Ellen on Family Ties. Michael J. fox and his wife Tracy Pollan. There is a UA-cam video where they play the song during scenes from the show.

Like everyone else said, hard not to think of Family Ties when hearing this song. You should check out the Family Ties episode that this song was featured in, on your other channel with Dee.
