You’re completely right about myth 5. When someone says something negative while you’re tripping, it ruins everything. I can feel the negative vibes crawling up the back of my head. Hence why I prefer to trip alone.
Timothy Leary was very fond of saying "Set and Setting" (meaning your mindSET and the SETTING that you trip in) dictate the experience you have. All of my LSD adventures have been amazing experiences, but I'm pretty careful about those two things any time I do it.

my teacher from Biology told the whole class about the first myth (He said after you take LSD you will have the same trip experience years later ) Teachers in the United states are brainwashed by society so all they teach is a bunch of myth they heard as a kid
Our biology teacher made us do presentations on drugs (the girl who grew her own weed had to explain why weed was bad lol) and I got LSD. I made a presentation with a cardboard info post, which then got hung up in the classroom. I talked to my teacher after class and told them to take it down because I don't want everyone to see it and be anti-psychedelics because I think they're a beautiful thing etc. and she just had this blank stare and started listing anti-drug propaganda and myths about drugs. It baffles me that educated people really believe this. I heard from a friend who studied pharmacy that his teacher told the class the "spinal storage" myth as if it were a fact. How fucked up is that? And what really concerns me is that these pathetic authority figures keep babbling those scare tactics but don't share ONE information on harm reduction, llike telling people about compounds such as NBOMe's which are VERY dangerous drugs that are commonly sold as acid. They don't even know that shit themselves and probably think LSD is the easiest shit to find on the streets.
how are ya It's a clever play on words. At a first glance it looks like he's saying it can actually cause psychotic behaviour. But after reading it properly, you should realise the people he's referring to becoming psychotic are those that have never taken it. Those that irrationally oppose it without having ever tried it. In short, he's saying it makes people go crazy, but not the users themselves but the society around them.
Let's not act like acid doesn't make you go insane a little but for a couple of hours. When I was on L I couldn't trust my best friend and wanted to attack him but even tripping I knew better but that's because my friend wasn't the best guy and you develop a couple "other" personalities usually 2, if you've tripped on a large dose you know what I mean.
I've done lsd and then months later, I was at at very small concert at night. The stage was lighting up in colored concert lights and suddenly everything seemed in HD. It only lasted for a few seconds, but there was no mistaking it. Once you've seen that acid HD effect, you don't forget it.
I've had that with contrasts in tree bark on a winter morning; everything "popped" into being more 3D. I've also had that effect as the result of a religious conversion experience in the late 70s.
Diamond Delarosa I'm experiencing the same but haven't seen it as a bad thing. I've found it easier to gain higher states of conciousness with mediation since my last dmt experience. Literally smoking a joint will make me hallucinate like I'm on acid and my close eye visuals are very dmt like but toned down a bit. But if you focus you can learn to control and manifest anything you want in your minds eye.

I remember my high school health teacher telling us "I knew a guy who took lsd and he believed he was a glass of orange juice. His friends were messing with him, tipped him over and he died" and I asked "did his head hit a rock? Are you sure he was taking acid? Because I've heard that one before" And I got detention for asking that question.
I always have lingering visuals. I actually really like it, and it doesn't affect me at all. Between the two strings hanging from my fan, I always see these colorful waves. It's really neat.

The first time I took mushrooms I thought I was a bottle of soap in my kitchen for about an hour before my father found me and took me for a walk. I still know the colour of the soap... Purple. I was alright with being the soap, but when I came down I had quite the story to tell to my friends and now all of you!

Prestonsorrows i recommend DMT. i even had a bad trip but i still think you would find a lot of use out of it, just beware it will open doors in the way you perceive things that you can never close again. you will never look at how we experience life the same way you did before. only do it if you seek it, but it seems youve been able to take a lot out of your shroom trip and apply it to your life, which is important to do with DMT as to not waste the experience
Prestonsorrows shrooms would be more likely to do that then acid imo they’re more emotional and deep while acid is more intense and stimulating and analytical and sometimes fun
I still have HHPD from my 5MEO DMT experience 4 years ago. Now whenever I stare at myself in a mirror, my face actually begins to dissolve. It has lessened some, but still can come on anytime I let my vision relax while looking in a mirror. It's a real thing. I also remember as a teen having tracers for at least a month after a trip.
myth number 7, that totally resonates with my line of thinking. LSD shows you the true nature of how our current soicety is built, it can be hard to accept and live in it after a strong trip
It happens, unfortunately. Most teachers are much better educated than that - but it does vary from state to state. But you know ... The actual science on psychedelics has been stunted and stalled for decades so I can't really blame teachers for having old or bad information.
I’ve been experiencing HPPD for about two months now (since my last trip) i could go a couple years without tripping and be totally fine with that honestly. I tripped about 7-10 times this year and obviously learned my lesson. I wouldn’t say I’m traumatized but it is sometimes stressful as well as irritating. I also have this weird thing going on where everytime I hear myself talk now- it doesn’t sound like me anymore or I’ll be talking full on and in my head have no idea what’s coming out of my mouth. It’s odd but I’m thankful for all of my trips this year, they helped me become more self aware and confident, I’ve learned a lot and changed my mindset as well. Its helped my mental health SO MUCH 🖤

I have HPPD. It's due to VERY heavy LSD use in the late 80's and early 90's. There was a point in time I was dropping 3 times a week for 6 months. A month after letting my mind rest I was still seeing the pictures crawl around on the wall, and tracers behind people when they walked by in front of me. Today I can wave my hand in front of my face and I can see heavy tracers. They never really went away. 😎
I've gotten hppd from acid about 2 years ago. I have visual snow, floaters, tracers, after images. Life was hard at first but I've gotten used to it. Although it hadn't gone away, it's gotten better as time has gone by
ive only ever smoked weed earliest at 16, never done psychs, i have visual snow, worst at night, floaters when i look up at bright sky, and i wanna know what you mean with after images, cus if i look out my window at the bright almost blinding sky for 10 seconds and then close my eyes, i still sorta see it in a green/cyan type of color.

10:00 is so true. First acid trip i blacked out (was on 200mg) when i was about or at peak. I remember just pushing myself against the couch screaming for my room mates friend to stop and be quiet. It took 20 mins for me to calm down. Found out when i was sober he was talking about how animals are killed. Something that small set me off. Acid is very powerful

I've suffered from HPPD for roughly a decade and occasionally still do at random times. I living in Japan at the start of 2000. I was pleasantly shocked upon arrival that several hallucinogenic substances were legal and available in head shops and street vendors. Well I loved psychedelic mushrooms and found myself using medium to large(3g to 5g)doses roughly 4 times a week for about 2 years time total. While it was quite a journey after returning state side I was completely burned out on mushroom trips and quit(they had lost all their pleasure). I was really freaked out in this beginning phase of shroom sobriety. I was seeing tracers, breathing walls, fluid floors, and moving patterns. I was convinced that I fried my brain and this was gonna last forever. Fortunately these lingering effects were subtle and didn't prevent me from living my life. I didn't discover that what I had was a known condition with a fancy name for almost 10 years and the symptoms had improved a lot. During that time I picked up a nasty H habit and while high the HPPD would pop up and I would get some pretty awesome audio hallucinations. These days I'm living sober but still on occasion have HPPD symptoms.
Have done hundreds of trips on many substances (Lsd,DMT,Meacaline,more) and I have NEVER had a flashback. This was over 12 yrs ago but I did have major depressive episodes. I'm ok now with proper meds lol. I did have pretty bad social anxiety after not being a particularly anxious person growing up, like I always felt like everyone in public was staring at the back of my head. That's gone now, and I wouldnt give a fk if they were. Hardest visuals ever was Mescaline with Mushrooms and Molly, saw shit that WAS NOT there. Like beings, trees growing all over each side of Red Rocks ampitheatre, ETC. Been clean for 12 yrs now and not gonna lie, I wouldn't trade all those trips in. Was amazing and the places it takes you is like NOTHING else in this world. GRANTED, of course I had bad trips and though I was going to die a few times but that comes with it, it's not all rainbows and puppies! Anyone who tells you that is lying, psychedelics are hands down THE MOST INTENSE thing you can ever put your mind through! It does definitely give you a new outlook on life. DMT will give you visions you did not know existed. Not promoting it, just sharing. Be safe kiddos!

Ive had the most insane trips on dmt. Ive been to alternate realities, been to what i call the "room" where its a room of nothing but geometrical shapes, and sacred geometry. Been to cartoon like castles, met aliens, gods, and also simply had the deepest depths of my inner emotions ive suppressed for over 10 years brought back up and through the experience it taught me how to channel them and be ok with my passed. My future finally understood my passed. On the contrary; ive been held down by demons, had specters stalk me through the trip, along with anxiety. Psychedelics definitely arent toys, and should be used with extreme caution. But yet at the same time enjoy the enlightenment...
My first psychedelic I ever did was mescaline and me and my friend did it for 4 days back to back while smoking bowls and joints and for a good while every time I would take a hit of a pen or bowl it would feel as if it enhanced my high to the point where it would get me fucked up with one hit even though I smoke everyday, lmao but that didn’t stop me from having a long sesh with the boys. Anyways whenever I would have a long session it would feel as if I had done mescaline all over again. At the moment I am taking a break because of how high bud would get me after taking mescaline for 4 days straight (we took about 6 ft of San Pedro between us both we juiced it and also prepared some to chew and suck all the juices out. Juicing it was probably harder because of how slimy and earthy/bitter it was)

My last tango with psychedelics was 2011. I stopped due to overwhelming HPPD. I still have HPPD 8 years later and I haven't touched pot or psychoactives since May 2011. I do however live with a deeper and move meaningful relationship to existence, myself, and all that I communicate with. Psychedelics were incredibly positive, they have changed me forever, the paradigm shifts are not erasable. It took me at least 5 years to accept the HPPD, I fully expect to have it for life as it is as intense as it was 8 years ago, but it's okay, it's absolutely okay. The benefits are worth it.
I love you man the path youre taking on educating the people against it is outstanding I love what you said about moving forward and eliminating the stigma I truely believe people should have to trip every 1-2 years as a way of peeling away society's anxiety and helping shape their consciousness.
Been loving these videos. Subscribed. :) Tripped for 3rd time ever on shrooms the other day, after months and months of endless toil, living on autopilot, PTSD, worsening mental health. The shrooms pulled all of that to a screeching halt, allowed me to cry and mend in the deepest way possible. I remembered who I was again and felt a newfound joy/love for myself, life and everyone around me. Psychedelics are true blessings.

I used to trip on dxm a lot and I've had tracers ever since. It's been about 12 years since my last blast off, but they're still there. I don't mind them, I hardly notice them most of the time, but when I do notice them it just brings back a flood of good memories from that period of my life. Just an anecdote. Not sure why I'm even sharing it, but I am. :)
One time me and 2 of my friends were on 2 tabs, 4 g of mushrooms and 110 mg of M and out of now where I started talking about traumas that I didn't even know were traumas. Stuff that had resentments and anger and depression built into my experiences and memory that had rooted themselves in my consciousness. My two friends helped me through it and I was able to find peace and closure. In the moment I felt so bad because i felt like was just vomiting my poision all over my 2 friends and didn't want to ruin their trip. They showed me love and opened up with me and helped me to navigate through what was going on. if I had been with anyone else I think it may have ended badly. These things are truly a medicine.
This is the version of the orange juice story that I heard: A man tried to smuggle $1000 or something of LSD into a nightclub and stuck it to his arms and legs so he didn't have to carry it in his bag. It was hot so he started sweating and the LSD went into his pores while he was sweating. The LSD quickly got into his bloodstream and to this day he thinks he's a lamp.

The stuck in a trip forever myth is huge for me because everytime I have a "bad trip" I end up seeing my friends faces telling me I need to get out of this trip now or I'm going to get stuck and they arent even actually in the room with me its all in my head lol. It happens anytime I do higher doses but lower doses seem kinda boring to me so its always a struggle for me even tho i know its a myth it still convinces me sometimes that it can really happen.
watching this again because a few nights ago i was looking in the mirror and all of a sudden my face morphed, everything i could see in the mirror suddenly became sinister - it looked like an acid trip. as soon as i looked away i was fine but it was really scary. also since my last trip anytime i smoke weed i just feel off. doesn’t happen often enough to make me think its anything bad but idk.. i can’t help but feel like something is reaching out to me
I don't know how often you read comments or what is the best way to actually contact you, but I just wanted to say thank you Adam. I've been watching you for years and I appreciate your wisdom and experience and pragmatism in regards to psychedelics. I've had a couple of trips in my life and I really want to do more, but I'm definitely a bit afraid. My last acid experience (which was also my first) really spooked me. I didn't follow the rules and I really paid for it. I always struggle with set and setting because I so rarely get to have enough time to actually take a substance and planning a trip makes it hard to know if I'll be in a good headspace for it. And I'm always under so much stress that even my baseline is not ideal. Part of me always wants to trip for the express purpose of dealing with whatever is really weighing on me, but I know it's so unpredictable that that can be hard, and even dangerous to do that. I guess what I'm trying to say in so many words is, how do I trip when life gets in the way so much? What intentions should I set when I trip? Thanks for reading my ramble if you did, I appreciate you and all that you do.
The last one almost had me almost down to tears because it was so beautiful the way he had explained how psychedelics make you receive society and how it makes you more loving and caring that was truly amazing
after my first time taking acid, i got a couple flashbacks where it really felt like i was tripping again, for a few months afterwards. Like i didnt see ang visuals but my headspace felt like i was tripping for a few minutes because id see something that would remind me of my trip. Since taking it a second time tho i havent had any more of these "flashbacks"

You don’t. LSD is all about perception and perspective. You don’t necessarily see large things that are not there. You see what’s always been there in a multitude of new ways. Patterns emerge in everything. Your mind emphasizes what it used to ignore. Reality becomes amplified to a staggering degree."
regarding HPPD, i think a large number of HPPD casses isnt actually lingering psychedelic visuals but just makes users more aware of visual disturbances that are always there. for example i have always got tracers long before i ever took any substance with a light if moving it fast enough. same thing with visual static especially when looking at something like a white wall. Looks like your looking at a TV close up if you look carefully.
Wrong, they are pseudo hallucinations that occur after hallucinogenic drug use. The visual disturbances are not actually there, and that is verifiable by other people not being able to see the same thing, even those who have taken psychedelics.
Luke Miller maybe not wrong because everyone already has different perceptions of vision and what they see can be different. I think whether its wrong or not because i don't know for sure, its still a very good theory or idea.
I'm glad I had parents that were cool and talked to me about things like this when I was a kid. More parents need to talk with their kids about "drugs" in a realistic manner, leaving out the scare tactics.
Yoo that's what happened for me too. And moving to a different room feels like entering a different universe or dimension, like as soon as I would cross a doorway, it was like a whole new world.
same. it was like a series of visual flashbacks all through time and all the lives I had lived. I saw my current partner in most of those. Apparently, if this trip was to be believed, we had found each other over and over and over again for thousands of years. which would explain why I never believed in anything like love at first sight till I say her, two years before my first trip. my stomach knotted and I had a deep knowledge she was a vital person to me. two years later I tripped and saw that vision. I could also see the souls of people I live like my brother and my second partner. My brothers soul was as old as mine and I too saw him in many of the "flashbacks". my second partner, her soul was brand new, first time on the physical plain. hers was blue and bouncing with energy and very naive and clean. as far as the looks go, mine and my brothers and my first partners, we're all red and orange and looked like stable, upside down flames.
also, in almost all of the "flashbacks", I was a warrior. which makes sense as I am a warrior in this life (former soldier, current LE, future military contractor/merc). it also makes sense as my family have always been warriors on both sides (native Americans and Irish mercenaries who have fought in every major war for hundreds of years) and I knew I was going to be a warrior as long as I can remember. personally, psychadelics just show you what you already know in different ways or angles. also in a future trip with LSD, I would zoom down to the level of a bug and saw a frog as a predator... which was kinda scary. I also bonded with my second gfs dog that I used to hate so much and saw things from her perspective. love that dog now. The tree outside my house, a giant pecan tree, I saw, for the first time, as a living organism. I had always know it was living of course, I just saw it and UNDERSTOOD it as a living being. I hope you have many good trips ahead of you brother and never think that all of us in LE hate these kinds of drugs. many of us understand. the drug war needs to end. LSD needs to be legal.
It's actually not. They are kekule structures of benzene, really those double bonds are delocalized and this structure exists. It's just represented this way. The structure is a bit weird in places though.

9:30 Actually my friend, the CIA LSD trials showed people became less suggest able vs not being on LSD. The participants shows signs of hightened self awarness that shielded them from intentional programming. Which was part of the reason why the program was cancelled.
The flash backs one gets me. Their have been moments when everyday things appear large in perspective or appear novel/strange. Not necessarily hallucination but similiar to the tripping state. Not harmful either, non intrusive, just occasional things of that nature. Perhaps just a new perspective after a dose?
Lucas McElfish I quit smoking weed for 2 years and then when i smoked again, I had that same “large perception” of objects. I felt so small, like an ant. And then all of a sudden I would feel massive while everything else around me seemed tiny. I definitely experienced a mild hallucinogenic or psychedelic effect.
Lucas McElfish I get a similar feeling where objects around me seem funny, almost like personified and novel. But I think it’s just that my trips have put me back in touch with my imagination.
its gonna wear off after some time, don't worry! and you shouldn't hesitate to talk to a doctor or a psychologist, i've also had some bad drug aftermath and I was scared of having to live with this weird anxiety for ever but I have hope, + people around me dont think I have weirdly or badly changed since then :)
jacomine12 ketamine is the BEST. I've had the craziest trips of my life in the K-hole and I've tried most drugs at this stage. I always find you have to do about 0.3-0.6 grams to really trip hard.

Thank you! I once had an experience chewing Salvia Divinorum where I felt intense love from an entity. There was nothing malicious about them or their intentions. They just lived others, no strings attached. I knew in my head before that that kind of love exists, and I have people in my life who do live me unconditionally, it just changed my view on life to actually feel it. I also got the impression of a society where everyone had that live for each other, and basically went into grief once I realized that I do not live there, and probably never will in my lifetime. I think I cried almost uncontrollably after that experience. Or at least one of my salvia experiences. Also note that this wasn’t enough salvia to make me fully trip. I have never experienced going to another world on it, and that is probably good from the horror stories I have heard. Anyway I was still fully aware of my bedroom, and didn’t even see much warping around me. It was subtle. I didn’t see the entity I just felt them. But I felt them in a way that they seemed real. Same thing with the village. I just felt it. I had another salvia experience at a different time (same deal, just chewing it) where I looked at myself in the mirror. It was sort of an accident as I was just going to the bathroom, but it felt like I was an alien even though I knew I was looking at me in the mirror. Sorry for the long story. I just want to say in response to the last myth you talked about that my own worldview changed. I already knew society was messed up, but now I know it is worse than I thought, because a better thing exists. As a side note, do you know anything about Wild Dagga? I used it while I was in a bad place mentally as a sort of desperate way to try to medicate myself, and ended up calming down enough to realize that I had been in a constant state of anxiety for years. The first few days I took a new dose every time the last one wore off to keep the feeling, but knew that wasn’t good, so I tapered off over the following weeks. I now take it occasionally and log when I take it. During the few weeks I also started Akuamma seed extract, which had the unexpected effect of messing with my ability to dissociate. I could still daydream normally and probably wouldn’t have noticed it if I didn’t have problems with dissociation. At first it was scary because I was I dissociated to escape from chronic pain and didn’t know how to cope with reality, but I took it at least a few more times over that week sometimes at the same time as the wild Dagga and had some interesting experiences. It was probably not safe because at one point I think I saw lights. I also heard a voice in my head another time. I think blue lotus flower was also mixed in there at some point (I found out if I took too much of the flower I would feel cold. Like almost unbearably (I was taking pretty high doses of all of these I think)). Anyway during this few weeks I started down a UA-cam rabbit hole of researching our government and actually taking the idea of corruption more seriously. I am not sure why or how I even started in the first place as normally I find politics boring. Those weeks were a blur. Anyway I am still struggling but between my interesting experiences with the wild Dagga and other couple herbs plus my later experiences with salvia divinorum I am doing significantly better. I just wanted to share and get your opinion. And I am not recommending anyone do what I did! It was probably not safe! He he. This was long.

It makes a lot of sense , i do still experience the visuals and its been over 2 years since i have last taken lsd. It does not affect my day to day life but it lifts the anxiety that im not crazy and people do experience this. I do think there needs more research .
HPPD is real. I've had a 2 mild trips in a span of 1 month, first, I believe, was 2CB and second was 25C-NBOMe. Both trips were good, yet nowhere near enlightening. But since then I have persistent tracers after relatively fast moving objects, like flying birds or my hands, sometimes one bird can have several "shadow copies". Thing is... I like it and I don't want to try fixing this - I'm keeping this as a memento of some good conclusions I've got on those trips. Doesn't affect me in any way except for a light smile on my face for a second I see a small cluster of birds turning to be a single bird.

I actually had a bad lsd trip that drastically changed my life, I thought I was ready to do it again since I never had a bad trip before but I was in a really bad spot in my life, ran away and did 2 tabs with strangers and my friend who went with me, at first it went well but then someone said something and for some reason it set it all off for me, I couldn't eat, think or talk, all I did was chain smoke cigarettes and go to the bathroom, I was a walking zombie and I felt as if I was actually going to die/kept dying repeatedly, after I was dropped off I felt as if I had been living in a dystopian reality, realizing my mom was abusing me and forcing me to grow up fast, making me live this stereotype of being the hispanic daughter that had obligations to basically be a second parent from a young age, to never have a life outside of home and would emotionally and physically abuse me whenever I didn't do anything her way or told her I thought something was wrong with me (it wasn't the lsd that made me feel this way, it had been happening ever since I was a toddler) when I just wanted to be a kid but I didn't tell her anything my brain was slowly piecing together, I somehow convinced us to move back to our hometown, where it all started, to take care of my sick schizophrenic grandmother and try to make amends between her and my mother, long story short it didn't work out and there was an episode where my mother attempted to be physically abusive towards me once again, and as if I was an entirely different person or felt like someone else took over, I didn't let her this time and put her in a headlock so neither of us would get hurt, I ended up getting arrested but thankfully everything was dropped and I'm with the other side of my family who has been supposedly waiting for me and I'm now working towards self healing and just recently turned 18, I quit smoking weed and everything, I admit that although I had a bad trip, I most definitely do not regret it and I'm actually thankful for the trip, I would've still been in the same place I was and believe I would've came out a lot worse than I am now.
Very interesting subject: Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD). For me, this condition-or something related-was a tremendous blessing, an opening of perception that lasted over 2 years; due to LSD. At any time, I could lie down on my back, stare at the ceiling, and soon see the flow of consciousness, of fractal design, like very ornate, colorful paisley prints-but alive and flowing like a river of intelligence. Wish I had this capacity back once again!

I've been having these so called "flashbacks" from time to time, nothing too intense, but small changes on my surroundings, like little movement. But recently was my most strange/strong one, I was trying to unlock my safe while all of a sudden these light blue Ray's flow by, which at first I thought it was smoke from my vape which I had in my pocket but I tried grabbing and looked harder and nothing, it just disappeared. Timothy Leary was very fond of saying "Set and Setting" (meaning your mindSET and the SETTING that you trip in) dictate the experience you have. All of my LSD adventures have been amazing experiences, but I'm pretty careful about those two things any time I do it.

I've done lsd and then months later, I was at at very small concert at night. The stage was lighting up in colored concert lights and suddenly everything seemed in HD. It only lasted for a few seconds, but there was no mistaking it. Once you've seen that acid HD effect, you don't forget it.
I've had that with contrasts in tree bark on a winter morning; everything "popped" into being more 3D. I've also had that effect as the result of a religious conversion experience in the late 70s.

Literally smoking a joint will make me hallucinate like I'm on acid and my close eye visuals are very dmt like but toned down a bit. But if you focus you can learn to control and manifest anything you want in your minds eye.

I still have HHPD from my 5MEO DMT experience 4 years ago. Now whenever I stare at myself in a mirror, my face actually begins to dissolve. It has lessened some, but still can come on anytime I let my vision relax while looking in a mirror. It's a real thing. I also remember as a teen having tracers for at least a month after a trip.

I’ve been experiencing HPPD for about two months now (since my last trip) i could go a couple years without tripping and be totally fine with that honestly. I tripped about 7-10 times this year and obviously learned my lesson. I wouldn’t say I’m traumatized but it is sometimes stressful as well as irritating. I also have this weird thing going on where everytime I hear myself talk now- it doesn’t sound like me anymore or I’ll be talking full on and in my head have no idea what’s coming out of my mouth. It’s odd but I’m thankful for all of my trips this year, they helped me become more self aware and confident, I’ve learned a lot and changed my mindset as well. Its helped my mental health SO MUCH 🖤

I have HPPD. It's due to VERY heavy LSD use in the late 80's and early 90's. There was a point in time I was dropping 3 times a week for 6 months. A month after letting my mind rest I was still seeing the pictures crawl around on the wall, and tracers behind people when they walked by in front of me. Today I can wave my hand in front of my face and I can see heavy tracers. They never really went away. 😎

10:00 is so true. First acid trip i blacked out (was on 200mg) when i was about or at peak. I remember just pushing myself against the couch screaming for my room mates friend to stop and be quiet. It took 20 mins for me to calm down. Found out when i was sober he was talking about how animals are killed. Something that small set me off. Acid is very powerful

I've suffered from HPPD for roughly a decade and occasionally still do at random times. I living in Japan at the start of 2000. I was pleasantly shocked upon arrival that several hallucinogenic substances were legal and available in head shops and street vendors. Well I loved psychedelic mushrooms and found myself using medium to large(3g to 5g)doses roughly 4 times a week for about 2 years time total. While it was quite a journey after returning state side I was completely burned out on mushroom trips and quit(they had lost all their pleasure). I was really freaked out in this beginning phase of shroom sobriety. I was seeing tracers, breathing walls, fluid floors, and moving patterns. I was convinced that I fried my brain and this was gonna last forever. Fortunately these lingering effects were subtle and didn't prevent me from living my life. I didn't discover that what I had was a known condition with a fancy name for almost 10 years and the symptoms had improved a lot. During that time I picked up a nasty H habit and while high the HPPD would pop up and I would get some pretty awesome audio hallucinations. These days I'm living sober but still on occasion have HPPD symptoms.

Have done hundreds of trips on many substances (Lsd,DMT,Meacaline,more) and I have NEVER had a flashback. This was over 12 yrs ago but I did have major depressive episodes. I'm ok now with proper meds lol. I did have pretty bad social anxiety after not being a particularly anxious person growing up, like I always felt like everyone in public was staring at the back of my head. That's gone now, and I wouldnt give a fk if they were. Hardest visuals ever was Mescaline with Mushrooms and Molly, saw shit that WAS NOT there. Like beings, trees growing all over each side of Red Rocks ampitheatre, ETC. Been clean for 12 yrs now and not gonna lie, I wouldn't trade all those trips in. Was amazing and the places it takes you is like NOTHING else in this world. GRANTED, of course I had bad trips and though I was going to die a few times but that comes with it, it's not all rainbows and puppies! Anyone who tells you that is lying, psychedelics are hands down THE MOST INTENSE thing you can ever put your mind through! It does definitely give you a new outlook on life. DMT will give you visions you did not know existed. Not promoting it, just sharing. Be safe kiddos!

Ive had the most insane trips on dmt. Ive been to alternate realities, been to what i call the "room" where its a room of nothing but geometrical shapes, and sacred geometry. Been to cartoon like castles, met aliens, gods, and also simply had the deepest depths of my inner emotions ive suppressed for over 10 years brought back up and through the experience it taught me how to channel them and be ok with my passed. My future finally understood my passed. On the contrary; ive been held down by demons, had specters stalk me through the trip, along with anxiety. Psychedelics definitely arent toys, and should be used with extreme caution. But yet at the same time enjoy the enlightenment...
My first psychedelic I ever did was mescaline and me and my friend did it for 4 days back to back while smoking bowls and joints and for a good while every time I would take a hit of a pen or bowl it would feel as if it enhanced my high to the point where it would get me fucked up with one hit even though I smoke everyday, lmao but that didn’t stop me from having a long sesh with the boys. Anyways whenever I would have a long session it would feel as if I had done mescaline all over again. At the moment I am taking a break because of how high bud would get me after taking mescaline for 4 days straight (we took about 6 ft of San Pedro between us both we juiced it and also prepared some to chew and suck all the juices out. My last tango with psychedelics was 2011. I stopped due to overwhelming HPPD. I still have HPPD 8 years later and I haven't touched pot or psychoactives since May 2011. I do however live with a deeper and move meaningful relationship to existence, myself, and all that I communicate with. Psychedelics were incredibly positive, they have changed me forever, the paradigm shifts are not erasable. It took me at least 5 years to accept the HPPD, I fully expect to have it for life as it is as intense as it was 8 years ago, but it's okay, it's absolutely okay. The benefits are worth it.

Been loving these videos. Subscribed. :) Tripped for 3rd time ever on shrooms the other day, after months and months of endless toil, living on autopilot, PTSD, worsening mental health. The shrooms pulled all of that to a screeching halt, allowed me to cry and mend in the deepest way possible. I remembered who I was again and felt a newfound joy/love for myself, life and everyone around me. Psychedelics are true blessings.

I used to trip on dxm a lot and I've had tracers ever since. It's been about 12 years since my last blast off, but they're still there. I don't mind them, I hardly notice them most of the time, but when I do notice them it just brings back a flood of good memories from that period of my life. Just an anecdote. Not sure why I'm even sharing it, but I am. :)

One time me and 2 of my friends were on 2 tabs, 4 g of mushrooms and 110 mg of M and out of now where I started talking about traumas that I didn't even know were traumas. Stuff that had resentments and anger and depression built into my experiences and memory that had rooted themselves in my consciousness. My two friends helped me through it and I was able to find peace and closure. In the moment I felt so bad because i felt like was just vomiting my poision all over my 2 friends and didn't want to ruin their trip. They showed me love and opened up with me and helped me to navigate through what was going on. if I had been with anyone else I think it may have ended badly. These things are truly a medicine.
This is the version of the orange juice story that I heard:

The stuck in a trip forever myth is huge for me because everytime I have a "bad trip" I end up seeing my friends faces telling me I need to get out of this trip now or I'm going to get stuck and they arent even actually in the room with me its all in my head lol. It happens anytime I do higher doses but lower doses seem kinda boring to me so its always a struggle for me even tho i know its a myth it still convinces me sometimes that it can really happen.

watching this again because a few nights ago i was looking in the mirror and all of a sudden my face morphed, everything i could see in the mirror suddenly became sinister - it looked like an acid trip. as soon as i looked away i was fine but it was really scary. also since my last trip anytime i smoke weed i just feel off. doesn’t happen often enough to make me think its anything bad but idk.. i can’t help but feel like something is reaching out to me

I don't know how often you read comments or what is the best way to actually contact you, but I just wanted to say thank you Adam. I've been watching you for years and I appreciate your wisdom and experience and pragmatism in regards to psychedelics. I've had a couple of trips in my life and I really want to do more, but I'm definitely a bit afraid. My last acid experience (which was also my first) really spooked me. I didn't follow the rules and I really paid for it. I always struggle with set and setting because I so rarely get to have enough time to actually take a substance and planning a trip makes it hard to know if I'll be in a good headspace for it. And I'm always under so much stress that even my baseline is not ideal. Part of me always wants to trip for the express purpose of dealing with whatever is really weighing on me, but I know it's so unpredictable that that can be hard, and even dangerous to do that.
I guess what I'm trying to say in so many words is, how do I trip when life gets in the way so much? What intentions should I set when I trip?

after my first time taking acid, i got a couple flashbacks where it really felt like i was tripping again, for a few months afterwards. Like i didnt see ang visuals but my headspace felt like i was tripping for a few minutes because id see something that would remind me of my trip. Since taking it a second time tho i havent had any more of these "flashbacks"

regarding HPPD, i think a large number of HPPD casses isnt actually lingering psychedelic visuals but just makes users more aware of visual disturbances that are always there. for example i have always got tracers long before i ever took any substance with a light if moving it fast enough. same thing with visual static especially when looking at something like a white wall. Looks like your looking at a TV close up if you look carefully.
Wrong, they are pseudo hallucinations that occur after hallucinogenic drug use. The visual disturbances are not actually there, and that is verifiable by other people not being able to see the same thing, even those who have taken psychedelics.
Luke Miller maybe not wrong because everyone already has different perceptions of vision and what they see can be different. I think whether its wrong or not because i don't know for sure, its still a very good theory or idea.

First trip: Felt like I was switching realities and I saw myself as different entities but the same person and it was so alien and mindfucking

Yoo that's what happened for me too. And moving to a different room feels like entering a different universe or dimension, like as soon as I would cross a doorway, it was like a whole new world.
same. it was like a series of visual flashbacks all through time and all the lives I had lived. I saw my current partner in most of those. Apparently, if this trip was to be believed, we had found each other over and over and over again for thousands of years. which would explain why I never believed in anything like love at first sight till I say her, two years before my first trip. my stomach knotted and I had a deep knowledge she was a vital person to me. two years later I tripped and saw that vision.
I could also see the souls of people I live like my brother and my second partner. My brothers soul was as old as mine and I too saw him in many of the "flashbacks". my second partner, her soul was brand new, first time on the physical plain. hers was blue and bouncing with energy and very naive and clean.
as far as the looks go, mine and my brothers and my first partners, we're all red and orange and looked like stable, upside down flames.
also, in almost all of the "flashbacks", I was a warrior. which makes sense as I am a warrior in this life (former soldier, current LE, future military contractor/merc). it also makes sense as my family have always been warriors on both sides (native Americans and Irish mercenaries who have fought in every major war for hundreds of years) and I knew I was going to be a warrior as long as I can remember.
personally, psychadelics just show you what you already know in different ways or angles.
also in a future trip with LSD, I would zoom down to the level of a bug and saw a frog as a predator... which was kinda scary. I also bonded with my second gfs dog that I used to hate so much and saw things from her perspective. love that dog now. The tree outside my house, a giant pecan tree, I saw, for the first time, as a living organism. I had always know it was living of course, I just saw it and UNDERSTOOD it as a living being.
I hope you have many good trips ahead of you brother and never think that all of us in LE hate these kinds of drugs. many of us understand. the drug war needs to end. LSD needs to be legal.

The flash backs one gets me. Their have been moments when everyday things appear large in perspective or appear novel/strange. Not necessarily hallucination but similiar to the tripping state. Not harmful either, non intrusive, just occasional things of that nature. Perhaps just a new perspective after a dose?
Lucas McElfish I quit smoking weed for 2 years and then when i smoked again, I had that same “large perception” of objects. I felt so small, like an ant. And then all of a sudden I would feel massive while everything else around me seemed tiny. I definitely experienced a mild hallucinogenic or psychedelic effect.

its gonna wear off after some time, don't worry! and you shouldn't hesitate to talk to a doctor or a psychologist, i've also had some bad drug aftermath and I was scared of having to live with this weird anxiety for ever but I have hope, + people around me dont think I have weirdly or badly changed since then :)

jacomine12 ketamine is the BEST. I've had the craziest trips of my life in the K-hole and I've tried most drugs at this stage. I always find you have to do about 0.3-0.6 grams to really trip hard.

I was in high school in the late 90s pre internet era and the story about the orange juice guy was prevalent then, in every drug circle I came in contact with. Crazy how that story spread nationwide with no internet
Thank you! I once had an experience chewing Salvia Divinorum where I felt intense love from an entity. There was nothing malicious about them or their intentions. They just lived others, no strings attached. I knew in my head before that that kind of love exists, and I have people in my life who do live me unconditionally, it just changed my view on life to actually feel it. I also got the impression of a society where everyone had that live for each other, and basically went into grief once I realized that I do not live there, and probably never will in my lifetime. I think I cried almost uncontrollably after that experience. Or at least one of my salvia experiences. Also note that this wasn’t enough salvia to make me fully trip. I have never experienced going to another world on it, and that is probably good from the horror stories I have heard. Anyway I was still fully aware of my bedroom, and didn’t even see much warping around me. It was subtle. I didn’t see the entity I just felt them. But I felt them in a way that they seemed real. Same thing with the village. I just felt it. I had another salvia experience at a different time (same deal, just chewing it) where I looked at myself in the mirror. It was sort of an accident as I was just going to the bathroom, but it felt like I was an alien even though I knew I was looking at me in the mirror. Sorry for the long story. I just want to say in response to the last myth you talked about that my own worldview changed. I already knew society was messed up, but now I know it is worse than I thought, because a better thing exists.
As a side note, do you know anything about Wild Dagga? I used it while I was in a bad place mentally as a sort of desperate way to try to medicate myself, and ended up calming down enough to realize that I had been in a constant state of anxiety for years. The first few days I took a new dose every time the last one wore off to keep the feeling, but knew that wasn’t good, so I tapered off over the following weeks. I now take it occasionally and log when I take it. During the few weeks I also started Akuamma seed extract, which had the unexpected effect of messing with my ability to dissociate. I could still daydream normally and probably wouldn’t have noticed it if I didn’t have problems with dissociation. At first it was scary because I was I dissociated to escape from chronic pain and didn’t know how to cope with reality, but I took it at least a few more times over that week sometimes at the same time as the wild Dagga and had some interesting experiences. It was probably not safe because at one point I think I saw lights. I also heard a voice in my head another time. I think blue lotus flower was also mixed in there at some point (I found out if I took too much of the flower I would feel cold. Like almost unbearably (I was taking pretty high doses of all of these I think)). Anyway during this few weeks I started down a UA-cam rabbit hole of researching our government and actually taking the idea of corruption more seriously. I am not sure why or how I even started in the first place as normally I find politics boring. Those weeks were a blur. Anyway I am still struggling but between my interesting experiences with the wild Dagga and other couple herbs plus my later experiences with salvia divinorum I am doing significantly better. I just wanted to share and get your opinion. And I am not recommending anyone do what I did! It was probably not safe!

This has really helped me, ive definitely experenced ptsd episodes which i thought were lsd flashbacks. It makes a lot of sense , i do still experience the visuals and its been over 2 years since i have last taken lsd. It does not affect my day to day life but it lifts the anxiety that im not crazy and people do experience this. I do think there needs more research .

I've had a 2 mild trips in a span of 1 month, first, I believe, was 2CB and second was 25C-NBOMe. Both trips were good, yet nowhere near enlightening. But since then I have persistent tracers after relatively fast moving objects, like flying birds or my hands, sometimes one bird can have several "shadow copies". Thing is... I like it and I don't want to try fixing this - I'm keeping this as a memento of some good conclusions I've got on those trips. Doesn't affect me in any way except for a light smile on my face for a second I see a small cluster of birds turning to be a single bird.

I actually had a bad lsd trip that drastically changed my life, I thought I was ready to do it again since I never had a bad trip before but I was in a really bad spot in my life, ran away and did 2 tabs with strangers and my friend who went with me, at first it went well but then someone said something and for some reason it set it all off for me, I couldn't eat, think or talk, all I did was chain smoke cigarettes and go to the bathroom, I was a walking zombie and I felt as if I was actually going to die/kept dying repeatedly, after I was dropped off I felt as if I had been living in a dystopian reality, realizing my mom was abusing me and forcing me to grow up fast, making me live this stereotype of being the hispanic daughter that had obligations to basically be a second parent from a young age, to never have a life outside of home and would emotionally and physically abuse me whenever I didn't do anything her way or told her I thought something was wrong with me (it wasn't the lsd that made me feel this way, it had been happening ever since I was a toddler) when I just wanted to be a kid but I didn't tell her anything my brain was slowly piecing together, I somehow convinced us to move back to our hometown, where it all started, to take care of my sick schizophrenic grandmother and try to make amends between her and my mother, long story short it didn't work out and there was an episode where my mother attempted to be physically abusive towards me once again, and as if I was an entirely different person or felt like someone else took over, I didn't let her this time and put her in a headlock so neither of us would get hurt, I ended up getting arrested but thankfully everything was dropped and I'm with the other side of my family who has been supposedly waiting for me and I'm now working towards self healing and just recently turned 18, I quit smoking weed and everything, I admit that although I had a bad trip, I most definitely do not regret it and I'm actually thankful for the trip, I would've still been in the same place I was and believe I would've came out a lot worse than I am now.

Very interesting subject: Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD). For me, this condition-or something related-was a tremendous blessing, an opening of perception that lasted over 2 years; due to LSD. At any time, I could lie down on my back, stare at the ceiling, and soon see the flow of consciousness, of fractal design, like very ornate, colorful paisley prints-but alive and flowing like a river of intelligence. Wish I had this capacity back once again!

I've been having these so called "flashbacks" from time to time, nothing too intense, but small changes on my surroundings, like little movement. But recently was my most strange/strong one, I was trying to unlock my safe while all of a sudden these light blue Ray's flow by, which at first I thought it was smoke from my vape which I had in my pocket but I tried grabbing and looked harder and nothing, it just disappeared. It was a strange experience
