    Neil Diamond may be the last of the great Tin Pan Alley songwriters. His catalogue is amazing.

    Yeah Rick!! Neil woulda loved u breaking out the tanbourine! He said in an interview that he saw these Revival tents in the South when he was going thru. As a Jewish boy from NY he was intrigued with these traveling evangelists. In the middle of the song Neil tried his hand at giving his own sermon 😊 Glad ya liked it! ❤

    One of my favorite singer songwriters spanning many decades. I had so many of his records. He had tons of hit songs. "I Am, I Said", "Sweet Caroline", "Cherry, Cherry", "Kentucky Woman", "Red Red Wine", "Solitary Man", "Holly Holy", "Cracklin' Rosie", "Song Sung Blue", "Longfellow Serenade", "Forever In Blue Jeans", "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" etc. He wrote the song "I'm A Believer" which became a big hit for the Monkees in 1966. I was privileged to see him in concert twice. He was a great showman & his live performances were memorable.

    When I was in my 30s (I’m 81). I saw Neil Diamond for the first time in concert. When I got home I was so flushed my son asked if I was sick. I told him if I had fit in his guitar case I would be gone :). He reminds me. This song still gives me chills !! Always will. I enjoyed watching you enjoy it.

    If this song don't move ya, you had better check your pulse, 2 - C if you even have one... Brother Neil took us to church on this one. Between that clean sounding Piano and funky sounding, pulsating Bass Guitar, those Gospel Singers , singing backup and of course Brother Neil's down and gritty picturesque and detailed story telling, absolutely knocked this one right out of the Park.

    You lost me when you spewed out the F word. I’ve never understood how people would call themselves Christians and yet cuss all the time and see nothing wrong with that. I always go back to the fact that God says we are ambassadors of Christ and Christian means to be Christ like. If you’re truly a Christian then you would think, would Christ Jesus use the F word or any other cuss word? I can’t see Him using a cuss word ever and therefore we as Christian’s shouldn’t be either but that is how far the term Christianity has fallen. So many people refer to themselves as Christian’s when they have no concept of what actually being a Christian is. They think they can live their life as they always have, talk as they always have, do the same things as they always have but as long as they believe in God they’ve got their ticket to heaven with no change required on their part. What people seem to forget is that even Satan believes in God but he’s going to hell. It’s more than just believing and if you read the whole Bible then you see that being Gods is a life change where you leave your old sinful life behind and ask God to forgive you and then start following what God says in the Bible and everyday we should be striving towards being more like Christ so we’re constantly getting better at being obedient to God and committing less and less sin and making more godly decisions for our life. We will never be sin free while living on this earth, we will never be perfect like Christ but we should always strive for that perfection every day. Too many people today call themselves Christian’s but yet there’s no life change in them. It’s just a label they give themselves because they believe God exists but they’re not actually living for Christ or even attempting too. They think I’m a good person and they may be what we as a society call a “good” person. But God says our “good” is as filthy rags without Him. There are lots of “good” people who are going to split Hell wide open when they die. We all sin but when we continue to commit the same sins over and over and never try to correct them or even feel that we need to correct them then there’s a problem with our “Christianity.” Some sins may take longer than others to get free of them but when a person doesn’t even see or feel that what they’re doing or saying is even wrong then again there’s a problem. I see too many people saying they love God and in the next breath or same breath are spewing the F word and other curse words and you can tell they aren’t working on correcting it because they don’t even see anything wrong with what they’re saying. It gives Christianity a black eye and also God because people judge God by our actions as Christian’s here on earth. As Christian’s we are supposed to not even give the appearance of wrong doing according to God in the Bible. Spewing the F word and other cuss words does not make others think, oh that person is a Christian or that person belongs to God or that person is Christ-like. Again if we can’t see Jesus saying it, doing it, looking at it, going to it, etc. then we shouldn’t be either. If you’re a Christian then you should have the Holy Spirit inside you telling you this or that isn’t ok. If the Holy Spirit isn’t constantly correcting you about your sin then you’re either not listening or you don’t have the Holy Spirit to begin with and if you don’t have the Holy Spirit then you are not a Christian. That’s what God says in the Bible.

      He is trying to reach young people, some misguided. I give him a mulligan here.

    • @anjoleeeickhoff6800
      @anjoleeeickhoff6800 4 місяці тому

      @@sockmonkey22 I’m all for second chances, third chances, etc. but what my problem was with this guy is that you can tell that the F word wasn’t a slip up. It wasn’t a mistake he made and felt sorry about or said oops I’m trying to curb my language. You can tell it’s not even on his radar that using cuss words are even remotely wrong. He’s not talking this way to “reach” young people. This is his normal everyday vocabulary. Even if he was trying to “reach young people” with that language it would still be wrong, more so because he would apparently know better. I’m praying for him, for God to open his eyes to the truth but I won’t watch his content.
