But considering most of my fantasy empire army is clad in black and red, and my other small army of Chaos warriors being all Khorne I decided against it. I might use some of the Kill Team models (Ashes of Faith, Space Cops, etc.) as a retinue - but I might just have this guy leading a unit of Shock Troops or Kasrkin. Thanks for watching!
In this video Adam gives weapons to angry babies... Be wary of kitbashing, in '21 I had a similar idea to Adam, 1k to1.5k Inquisition, Grey Knights, and Steel Legion mashup. I kitbashed an Inquisitor in Terminator Armour with Daemon Hammer and Psycannon. I used the metal Rogue Trader era Ordo Malleus body and plastic Grey Knights terminator arms/weaponry/gubbinz. And now GW have squatted that character option. Best I can use him as now is a counts as Grey Knights Grand Master! So Steel Legion totally squatted, and now my force's warlord!! And I can't get Kasrkin to complete the army!! Yeah thanks so much geedubz!!! It's getting to the point of "why bother?!"!
I made my kitbashed Inquisitor out of an Enginseer, a Librarian's head, and a few other misc bits. He's running with my Grey Knights, counting as Coteaz
Yes! Love this. I kitbashed my Inquisitor during 9thE from a Stormcast Knight Arcanum. Force Stave got strapped to his back to wield a Plasma Pistol as it was back then. I used an Necromunda Orlock head with welding goggles to give him a steampunk vibe. I run him allied to my Red Hunters Space Marines.
Looks super fun and on-brand for an inquisitor! I'd even go so far, personally, to add an additional robotic arm of some sort helping hold his gun aloft to up the weirdo factor.
I think it’s because they’re normal humans and I’m a normal human and they’re pretty much the faction I can relate to most in Warhammer 40K. Plus, it’s fun to build and paint tanks. Thanks for watching!
I love kit bashing. I started by using Drukhari heads for Aeldari Guardians. They used to not have many head options. I went for a Harlequin/Shadowrun/ cyberpunk paint scheme, using Turbo Dork metallics. They turned out ok, but I’d love to revisit them. The Inquisitor is looking great!
This reminds me of my Dark Heresy campaign and my character who eventually became an inquisitor herself. Had to do some serious kit bashing after her career as an acolyte and her various wounds and then various gear gains. Very interested in seeing more inquisitor builds.
I'm dying with the "angry baby" bits. I had to pause the video due to laughter. Bravo! I recently did my first kitbash for a 40k weapon for my son's Intercession Kill Team by turning an unused melta into an underbarrel grenade launcher for his Gunner, and that experience made this video an even more enjoyable watch than it already would have been. More like this please. Also, I've been playing Majestic 13 since my physical copy arrived and I have to say...Bravo! Such a fun XCOM-like experience!
Very nice looking kitbash! I'm in the process of making my own Ordo Xenos Inquisitor out of a Stormcast Knight Arcanum and a couple xenos trinkets on her belt (made the combi-weapon out of a canoness' Melta pistol and condemnor boltgun) to couple with my squad of 2000AD style Aribites. Just need a spare shoulder pad to help tie her into the Arbites a little more and I'll have a 'psi-judge' to use when I want to use her in 40k.
You could try the Witchhunters from Age of Sigmar (The Ven Denst family), the one that came with Cursed City (if you can find it online second-hand) or the Hexbane's Hunters from Warhammer Underworlds. They're all great models for Ordo Hereticus Inquisitors and/or retinues
I've got this idea for a Grey Knights army and part of that is kitbashing the Greyfax model to make her Inquistior Vakir from Chaos Gate demon hunter. I seriously loved that game and I'm currently digging through bits to try to find all the right parts. It's going to be a lot of fun!
Yes, absolutely love this. Kitbashing is fantastic and Inquisitors are so much fun. I plan to do many Inquisitor/Inquisition stuff just because I can, whenever I return to my Imperium stuff. I had a thought once of having a grand Imperial Crusade which had a core of Inquisition and then switched out the specialists/support characters to theme against my opponent's army. So playing against Chaos? Grey Knights and Demonhunters. Other Imperium? Sisters of Battle and Ordo Hereticus. Xenos? Deathwatch/other Space Marines. The idea felt really great because I could literally theme my army around my opponent to make ANY game narrative. Sadly, with 10th, I can only muster about 500 points per 2,000 point list for Inquisition. An Imperial Knight can make the other 1,000, but the restriction is rough. The idea might still be worth it, though. We shall see. That angry baby head, though? My god, my morbid curiosity has me eager to see how he turns out. lol
Several of the genestealer cult characters would do nicely for inquisitors. The Locus has the alternate scarred head option good for changing the look or using elsewhere, just need to file off the brow ridge (or not, perhaps he's made new friends) and I think the Nexos is just begging to be leaning on the fancy cane from the Delaque gang box.
This is awesome! I'm currently working on my own Inquisitor using the Doralia Van Denst mini. They're from AoS and is a witch hunter so the Inquisitor look is already there and I turned her crossbow into a plasma crossbow. I recommend checking them out if you're looking to make a few more allies. Can't wait to see the next video
There was an old model (back when terminators were on 25 mm bases) of an Inquisitor in terminator armour that I always loved. He had all the crazy nonsense you'd expect an inquisitor to have (Combi weapon, needler ring, power fist). But he also had a cool bionic leg that, for some reason that wasn't inside the armour, it was just exposed and pretty neat. Fast forward from that point, to the 54mm skirmish game that was a large, pun moderately intended, flop. But, the models were really cool. They had an inquisitor in some kind of wild armour that was part life support, part antique road piece, that I always wanted to replicate in 40k. Both of those, at least in spirit, I would love to see in 28/32mm again, updated to the current standard of the game. Just to show the expense to which the inquisition would go to keep their inquisitors going. I'm just not sure how to go about it.
I used the Cypher model as an Inquisitor. He's got pre-Primaris proportions so he can be handwaved as just a super-buff/genetically-enhanced human, he's got a cool hooded cloak and fancy armour (essential for an agent of the Ordos), and the Lion Sword on his back can just represent a big ol' relic blade.
Brilliant video, thank you! Always fun to watch someone enjoying their hobby. I am sorely tempted by the Highland Miniatures Inquisitorial band (on MMF) for the basis of several conversions for my Imperial Guard; Inquisitor and apprentices, Clergy and hangers on for a Lord Solar Conversion, that sort of thing. And if I do go back to having an Empire Army when the Old World releases I will be in a good place to print off some awesomeness for that!
Looks great. Are you also going to make acolytes and transport for your Inquisitor? SPOILER: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I'm going for Eisenhorn. I love his books but prefer the look he has in the last part of the 3rd book. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ End spoiler
Not an inquisitor, but I made a slight rework on Ursula Creed in order to give myself an Imperial Gouvernor figurine, armed with a sword and one pistol in order to have A) a bonus objective and B) a nice thematic proxy, should I ever need an imperial hero for any army somewhere. All I did was a headswap with a custom head I had available, some glue on parts that had holes on it and that was pretty much it - even have a spare Cadia banner now, that I can potentially use for future kitbashes. She could also work out as an Inquisitor statwise, so who knows. Could also be an option.
This was perfect - thank you! I've been looking at converting my own inquisitor as well, as the existing model is quite naff, as you'd pointed out. I'm working with a 3rd-party proxy to begin with (Ghamak's Vostroyan Firstborn, if you're curious) and was trying to figure out what parts to add. The parts from Death Watch are perfect; I was already thinking of picking up one of those kits, primarily because I needed most of the models in the box for my army already, but hadn't been expecting to use the upgrade sprue. Thinking about it, the other parts on the upgrade sprue will probably help with another project I'm working on, so this makes things a lot easier 😄
Take a glance at the inquisitor kill team when it gets the full regular box release ;) tons of options. One of the most flexible teams in the new KT version, LOTS of options, even mixing in other faction troops.
That's why I love GW plastic minis. They are so easy to work with and there's so much variety across different ranges that you can kitbash practically anything. I'm in the process of kitbashing - in my head for now - Death Cult Assassins for my future Sisters of Battle army. The old minis aren't so bad, considering their age, but I'd like some more dynamic and varied poses.
That's a fun kitbash and I'm pleased to see hobby progress videos like this return to the channel. 🙂 Kitbashing is fun and it's good to see it getting lots of attention.
Cost effectively, I think the 'Hive Scum' box provides some useful body parts - yes, they are a bit 'worn' in appearance, but easy enough to fix rips and tears.
As someone who just kitbashed their own Inquisitor for a narrative campaign (and planning the retinue now), I love to see other people do the same, that's great inspiration source. Makes me wanna play Inquisitorial bands in skirmish mode (guess I'm not too far trapped in the Inq28 spiral...)
You should dig up the soil of inquisitor rules and play it at 28mm. I’ve always wanted to do that. Plus it would give you more inquisitorial henchmen to kitbash.
I really like kitbashing Inquisitors, looking through the sprues I have available and seeing what I can use to say "Imperial" without tying them too much to a single faction's aesthetic, and I think every Imperial player should try their hand at making a custom Inquisitor at least once.
With a gun as big as his chest and a sword as big as he is tall. I agree. Don't mess with that guy. My only thing is how to plan on selling the psycher abilities.
Hey Uncle Adam, great conversion! I have weak spot for inquisitors and commisars and have a few metal of each. I bought three of the AM CPs for cheap so I have three of these ugly models. After building the Piety and Pain boxed set, I had a lot of extra bits so I took some Guardians and made some Corsairs (befoe the Kill Team came out) and wanted to use one of these for the flowing cape as my leaader.
Woe betide anyone who crosses an Inquisitor before nap time! You need to give this little feller a pacifier before he has a full blown Exterminatus tantrum haha Kitbashing is the best part of the hobby for me so I'm always happy to see more of this and I look forward to seeing him all painted up. Great work!
I just made an Ancient in Terminator Armor with the Leviathan captain, because I can't seem to find where to buy one. Next I'm tempted to make a custom Vindicare assassin because they're sold out everywhere.
been concepting some self lore of an inquisitor who has a pet hormagaunt with some sort of collar that will controll him or blow up if he misbehaves. kinda like the jurrassic world raptors that the military wants to control
Allies existed in 3rd edition fyi, the rules were just in a few codecies, and limited to those armies that had the rules in their book. I know for a fact that Which Hunters and Demonhunters could be allied to guard or space marines. I think Demons could be allied to CSM too, but Im not 100% on that.
I'm also planning on kitbashing an Inquisitor, though I'm going the power armor route with her. I've been trying to find some decent base models for her with little luck so far. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them. Lol.
I love this kitbash, but i would think about removing or not the strings on the shoulds... Make more clean... But then again Im not sure...try it out! I love my kitbashs!
inquisitors and rogue traders are something I wish they expanded in 40k. It would allow for an ynnarri-esque reason for the different groups of the imperium to be under 1 person. Super happy to collect the all the random guys from blackstone and killteam, it would be awesome to use these guys practically in a match
Luckily I have the Cartavolnus dude and one day I would like to have a whole bunch of inquisitors. Well, maybe just not the ultra-old kits. And that 'angry baby' needs a hat of some kind.
I kit bashed an inquisitor using Delaque legs, GSC Neophite torso, Skitarii arms and a Battle Sister head. I covered the gaps with purity seals. She has bionic legs under her robe to account for her height.
I’ve been mainly playing Combat Patrol, and having fun with it. A part of me wants to build a 1000-point army (and I am) but part of me is nervous about playing it. We’ll see. Thanks for watching!
Kitbashing Inquisitors is the most fun I've had with Warhammer. I thought I was done with Inquisitors when I built one using the new Commissar as a base, then we got the Freeguild Marshal and Relic Envoy. I can tell the arms are going to be awful to kitbash, but the cape looks too good.
What a great video, which has something for everyone. As someone new to the hobby you get an idea of 'how to' and for a more experienced hobbyist it serves as great inspiration. Once the Inquisitor is painted up, you know he will need a similarly kitbashed retinue, with accompanying video, of course! Just one small observation - does the head need to come around so he is looking more directly along the gun barrel?
just found greyfax at a lfgs to add to my deathwatch, but also want to make another inquisitor out of the leader out of the battle sisters squad, based on the inquisitor from choasgate also
i actually bought a kit to bash 2 inquisitors and an officer of the fleet for my astra militarum army yesterday strangely! were in sync uncle. i got the hexbanes hunters warband for the underworlds game. theres a van helsing wannabe guy in there im going to make a counts as greyfax out of, an dapper lady with a 4 barrelled pistol who will be my fleet officer, a big guy to make into an ogryn bodyguard maybe and then another random dude who i think will do fine for a second inquisitor. it also has 2 random dogs which is always nice, you need a few dogs in your army and they can keep the little fella from the starstriders kit company whos currently my solo militarum hound.
i'm actually waiting on some minis for the start of my future Inquisitorial army to come in... i'm planning on a "penal legion" for my Inquisitorial army with the Inquisitor, an assassin, and some "guards" for the Guards. throw in some commissars, and i'm good to go
I think Uncle Atom's "Weird New Miniature Art MOVEMENTS" video might be where I first heard of Inq28! I desperately desired Inq54 but didn't have the cash or time back in the day, and I love that it's survived!
I would honestly enjoy if you made a whole series of videos just on kitbashes like this
SAME. HARD AGREE. Please show us noobs how.
Orkz!
Yes!
I'd buy THAT for a dollar!
I second this
He looks good! “Angry baby, but he’s an inquisitor so par for the course.” XD
I would watch the hell out of a series of inquisitor videos. Kit-bashing, painting, whatever.
The GW Inquisitor with the flamer pistol you showed is completely my jam. The bog coats and the Capotain hat are just so stylish.
I got the mini way back when the demon hunter Codex got superseded by the new Grey Knights codex. Made from nice pewter rather than resin. So I kinda lucked out on that.
Only got to paint it this year, however, I made some slight changes though.
I cut off the pistols flame and took the highland sniper rifle from Warhammer Fantasies empire handgunners, cut that off right before the cloth wrap and attached the barrel to the pistol.
I also took some greenstuff to the energy sword to model some flesh to give off some Soul Edge vibes.
Really liked tje idea of an Inquisitor running around with a hellrifle and a demon sword. Disregarding that those options don't really exist currently.
For the paint scheme the first idea is obviously ted or black. But considering most of my fantasy empire army is clad in black and red, and my other small army of Chaos warriors being all Khorne I decided against it.
I finally settked down on a dark green coat and Hat while making the vest underneath a lightish purple. The colours mixed surprisingly well and my dude now looks like lavender. The capital "I" in red makes s nice contrast on the green too.
That gun is TOO big. Somebody shamed that poor man in the inquisitorial changerooms and he took it to heart

I don’t really like the “witch-hunter” look in 40K - part of the reason I’m doing this kitbash. Thanks for watching!
Looks over the top which is great. I think some of the Palanite Enforcers make a great basis for Inquisitors but also their entourage.

I really like kitbashing Inquisitors, looking through the sprues I have available and seeing what I can use to say "Imperial" without tying them too much to a single faction's aesthetic, and I think every Imperial player should try their hand at making a custom Inquisitor at least once.
I enjoyed converting miniatures it helps when you play Chaos there’s so much you can do!
You need to give this little feller a pacifier before he has a full blown Exterminatus tantrum haha
Kitbashing is the best part of the hobby for me so I'm always happy to see more of this and I look forward to seeing him all painted up. Great work!
I just made an Ancient in Terminator Armor with the Leviathan captain, because I can't seem to find where to buy one. Next I'm tempted to make a custom Vindicare assassin because they're sold out everywhere.
Hi Adam, good clean conversion 👍 I also like the “angry baby” vibe!
As far as the oversized weapon, lower back pain is nothing to a loyal Inquisitor. The Emperor, and Done's pills protects!
that came out great! I'm looking at kit bashing my own now.
been concepting some self lore of an inquisitor who has a pet hormagaunt with some sort of collar that will controll him or blow up if he misbehaves. kinda like the jurrassic world raptors that the military wants to control
I've always loved that old inquisitor because it reminds me of Hugh Jackman from Van Helsing. But I love this idea.
Nice kitbash, much better sword than the original. You could paint 5 o'clock shadow to counter the smooth cubby-checked baby face.
Your angry baby inquisitor looks like Hank from Breaking Bad. Perfect!
Inquisitor Angry Baby! No heresy will escape his wrath!
Kitbashing videos are my fav!
Loving this new idea of video, and how you kitbash
inquisitors and rogue traders are something I wish they expanded in 40k. It would allow for an ynnarri-esque reason for the different groups of the imperium to be under 1 person. Super happy to collect the all the random guys from blackstone and killteam, it would be awesome to use these guys practically in a match
“Perturbed bald guy” 🤣 made me laugh! - great video BTW nice to se you doing conversions brother 👍
Kitbashes like this one is my favorite part of the hobby, I’m tempted to make my own Inquisitor but he would be a strange ally to my Dark Angels…
Curious how you are enjoying the new edition, especially in comparison to One Page Rules' version
Nah, he’s an Inquisitor so he’s the master of the 360 no scope. Thanks for watching!
I'm thinking about it now! Thanks for the video!
Loving inquisitor atom.
He is going to do some much good for the imperium of man.
I just want an army of the Inquisition. As for that guy I'm surprised you didn't turn his head slightly
With Imperial Inquisitors, "Comically Large Weapons" strike me as entirely on brand.
Greyfax out of an arbites body, sisters arms, masked head and cleaned powerpack
I am excited for a series like this.
Inquisitor George Dawes? 👍
just found greyfax at a lfgs to add to my deathwatch, but also want to make another inquisitor out of the leader out of the battle sisters squad, based on the inquisitor from choasgate also
I plan to use one of the models.from Cursed City as my Inquistor and another as a Callidus Assassin. (Even though I have the original metal model)
Allies were available in RT and 2nd Ed. Up to 25% of the army could be allies.
i actually bought a kit to bash 2 inquisitors and an officer of the fleet for my astra militarum army yesterday strangely! were in sync uncle. i got the hexbanes hunters warband for the underworlds game. theres a van helsing wannabe guy in there im going to make a counts as greyfax out of, an dapper lady with a 4 barrelled pistol who will be my fleet officer, a big guy to make into an ogryn bodyguard maybe and then another random dude who i think will do fine for a second inquisitor.
it also has 2 random dogs which is always nice, you need a few dogs in your army and they can keep the little fella from the starstriders kit company whos currently my solo militarum hound.
Looking forward to part 2!
i'm actually waiting on some minis for the start of my future Inquisitorial army to come in... i'm planning on a "penal legion" for my Inquisitorial army with the Inquisitor, an assassin, and some "guards" for the Guards. throw in some commissars, and i'm good to go
I'm here for the tiny fireworks!
Curious how its going to look all painted up!
Love it, would like to see more kitbashing vids
You've taken your first tentative steps into the wide (and very grim) world of Inq28, whether you know it or not 🙂
I think Uncle Atom's "Weird New Miniature Art MOVEMENTS" video might be where I first heard of Inq28! I desperately desired Inq54 but didn't have the cash or time back in the day, and I love that it's survived!
Thanks Uncle Atom this was very fun
I'd like to see a) this one painter and b) your take on his colleagues, either retinue or other Inquisitors. Cheers!
Did you ever get to paint the "angry baby"?
It's the simple kitbashes that hit hardest sometimes
