I hate to say it but, Baldi is actually telling the truth. Baldi is actually a nice person. Jimmy/The student is actually anxious. The impossible question represents his anxiety. When he answers it wrong, in his perspective, Baldi will chase him. But he is actually nice and he does not chase people at all (because he is a teacher haha get it).
