    😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

At time stamp 23:43 you pass by a photo shop. We went to that place a couple of times during our stay. My son was shooting old school 35mm. The gentleman in there gladly developed it for us. Hello Chris and Marianne, I was born and raised in Turkey, am married to a Brit and have been living in the US for the last 30 years. Another Turkish friend living in the US had turned me onto you during the pandemic some time and I've continued to follow you since then. I decided to write when you returned to TR this year and your love for the country and her people truly came through and brought me to tears. I love your perception of your experiences as you travel and my faith in humanity is restored a little more every time someone comes to your help in some way. Looking forward to your new experiences and, who knows, maybe we'll meet in person some day, somewhere. Good luck and godspeed.

Fun Fact; Migros is Switzerlands largest employer and co-founded Turkey's largest retailer, Migros Türk, which became independent of Migros Switzerland in 1975.

You should have visited Beşiktaş Çarşı and then take a Boshorus tour from Ortaköy by ferry. That would be more amazing.

11:35 Oldest sattlement in istanbul is not Kadikoy. it is Pendik Harmandere , The people who first set foot in Istanbul and laid the foundation of the city are the shepherds from Göbeklitepe. they first settled in the pendik. they came from the plain of Harran. And that's where the name similarity comes from with Harmandere. He's giving you some misinformation but I appreciate his effort. Of course, instead of in-depth information, stereotypical information presented to tourists in general is used a lot.
