It always just reminded me of that fan series by AbsurdlyAwesome “The Next Generation One,” where Bludgeon was the main villain (who also happened to be downright hilarious).
there is one time he used a blunt weapon, the power of the primes prime master shell had a cannon spiked club to form part of the weapon mode/plug into the tiny hand. maybe ill get that out so he can use it lmao
Something interesting with this guy. the hilt of his sword is long enough for two handed wielding, with the transformation joints utilized, he can 100% hold his sword with two hands (I don't have Bludgeon so tested with Tarn and a random sword accessory), which I think was an intentional design for the Tarn tooling.
I was never able to find Tarn, so this figure will be my introduction to the mall. Honestly, I’m very excited and I can’t wait to see what upgrade kids are made to make him a little more unique
I didn't get Tarn but i definitely have Bludgeon preordered. He'll lead his Pretender troops Skullgrin, Iguanus, and Bombburst in my collection. Let's hope we get more Autobot Pretenders
The nice thing about that extra joint in the arms is that it makes it easier for him to wield the sword with two hands. I did hesitate on picking this guy up because I am always wary of picking multiple of the same mold, but considering this time they gave him a decent headsculpt and he does great sword-wielding poses I'd say it's more than acceptable.
I like Tarn, I like Bludgeon. But I don't think this toy really looks like anything other than just Tarn. More than anything, it's the shoulder pads. Those are such an iconic part of Tarn's silhouette.
The shoulder tracks feel right with Bludgeon. They feel kinda like the movie samurai shoulder armour. The vibe feels right, even if it's not accurate, and I'll take vibe qnd hand feel over accuracy anyday.
I love that they gave us a Bludgeon and I don’t mind that they used the Tarn mold to do it but I wish they had done just a bit more remolding to differentiate him from Tarn. I may wait for this to go on sale before I decide if I want to get him or I may hold out for the Super7 one to get a more G1-y Bludgeon to go with my other Legacy Pretenders.
Something not many ppl talk about is that if you'd prefer a more traditional tank look you can use the cannons in evo fusion configuration and plug them in on top where they'd normally go from the back to get a single barrel tank turret on both tarn and bludgeon. Technically fan mode but using ports easily easily accessible w no stress to the figure. I loved the tarn mold and as a bludgeon fan, this is perfect say for no rolling wheels.
Lol and OMG. I can't stop laughing at the skits. 😂😂😂 Emgo316 is so cool, funny, honest, and helpful. Mascot is a legend of the funniest and coolest intros. Mascot is so funny and cool. What kind of lego is Mascot? Cool weapons and colors. I love the intro music.
Someone recently made a reddit post about finding mold on their copy of Bludgeon. Specifically underneath the chestplate, on the back, and around the ankles. It's the same type of mold found on the wings of the Amazon exclusive Nacelle. Hopefully this isn't a widespread issue because I really would like to have a proper Bludgeon figure in my collection.
Hi again, Emgo. I watched Mortal Kombat's recent trailers lately before watching this review, so I'm getting the impression that Bludgeon's samurai helmet and skull mask resemble Shao Kahn's helmet. If there are toy customizers here, Bludgeon could be a robotic Shao Kahn if he's painted in Shao Kahn's colors and has Studio Series Rhinox's hammer.
I can't believe I didn't recognize the mold until I saw the mascot skit. I don't own a Tarn and probably won't get a Bludgeon (I'm very selective with which toys I get because of storage space concerns) but I should have recognized it from the shoulders alone.
We definitely need a new megatr9n mold, something leaner but bigger not so blocky and more intimidating. Lots of comic designs to choose from cuz thebseige ine isnt aging well and d9esnt look too good against a lot of new ones sadly
I feel like given the transclearant plastic, that the chest piece and the cannons are in the same piece of molding. I wonder why Mark didn’t go for a redone chest + guns at that point. As far as I know, Hasbro usually lets him do 4 “trays” different for a reuse, and obviously the head took one, and adding a sword took another. So did Hasbro not give him money to change more for this figure? Did he think it was good enough and ask to allocate that budget elsewhere? I am so very curious.
@@griffinkimball2454 I’d agree with you, only the heads are molded in different color plastic. Actually, it looks like the Bludgeon head and his sword are done in the same color, so they’re the more likely gangmold! Which means he’s a remold done with only a single tray changed. Hasbro usually gives them the budget for four. So . . . either they withheld that budget here or Mark allocated the other 3 trays allowed to other projects. I can’t see another reason they wouldn’t do just one more new tray to change the chest piece and the cannons. But we’ll never know unless Mark tells us, I suppose. On a tangent, on the docket for next year is a package refresh for Metalhawk. I love the character and the figure but he is warming so many shelves right now while Tarn sold out instantly from every retailer, online and in person. Wouldn’t it make more sense to give the package refresh to Tarn, since he’s proven and guaranteed to sell really well and make Hasbro a lot of money? I swear these corporations don’t have brains sometimes.
I'll probably try to get him as I want to get all of the Pretenders and Bludgeon was a Japan exclusive Pretender in G1, I do wish there were more Samurai style parts though.
I realize i am 4 weeks late but i hope someone reads this but Bludgeons head stores much easier when you turn his head completely backwards and he seems to slip right in almost as it it was intentional but not updated in the instructions.
I love the Tarn mold, and reusing molds usually doesn't bother me, but for some reason I don't like it here. The shoulder pads in particular really kill it for me, but also the fact that this Bludgeon's skull isn't... Skully enough. But you're right, Emgo, if this is all we're getting, it could be way worse.
I've always liked the character but I really can't go past liked the Pretender version. That's the only one I really want. I do like the new Jhiaxus so had to get that figure.
I was never into the comics and only know him as one of Shocxkwave's mass produced Decepticon Super-Soldiers from Cyberverse so I skipped Tarn, as a VOY class army builder is just "Nope." I liked Bludgeon's original Pretender version and his Cyberverse and Prime Master incarnations though, so I've been waiting for this guy ever since I saw the chest of the premold and thought "Whoa, that looks like it could be Bludgeon's chest plate!" Haven't gotten him yet because Amazon is slower than the import toy sites, but the preorder's due around this time next month 🙂
While the lack of any real remolding is a little disappointing, at least this gives me an actual chance to get the mold, since last time I checked, tarn was sold out literally everywhere
Was Tarn limited edition? I waited too long now I can't find him for a reasonable price. My Bludgeon is expected to come in October, but he may come a little earlier.
Seeing as how Bludgeon was the Decepticon leader for a while in the Marvel comics, I really liked the end skit

Was just playing with this figure a few minutes ago. Supremely poseable and just looks amazing. Everyone needs this guy.
I'd totally buy him if the Hasbro pricks would just release him already on amazon or walmart

I wish they remolded the cheats just to make him look less like Tarn
I agree dude!
Agreed and gave him matching cannons instead of the 2 different ones that tarn uses (it works for tarn not for bludgeon)
Like how they did with Axelgreese
@@GH0STST4RSCR34M Facesculpt on that one aint great. But yes.

You know what’s so funny? Every time I’m watching one of your older videos, a new video pops up! 😂

Whenever we get a Repaint/Remold, I keep thinking if we will ever get another "It's...Alpha Bravo...." situation again? 😁
Hasbro sure loved that mold.
They liked the Deadend mold more
I think that’s what happened to Axelgreese
Lol enter sideswipe?

14:47 Let's see Bludgeon talk that way to G2 Megatron! I'm doubting it would go as well for him.
It might be a remould, but it definitely works for old Skelebot... and anything beats his G1 Pretender days, so it's all a glow-up anyhow!
Another great vid.
Will get this over Tarn.
The shoulder tracks feel right with Bludgeon. They feel kinda like the movie samurai shoulder armour. The vibe feels right, even if it's not accurate, and I'll take vibe qnd hand feel over accuracy anyday.

i would have liked the canon to be remoulded at least, i feel like the double barrel doesn't fit bludgeon as well as it fits tarn
I think I heard Starscream laughing in the background after after Bludgeon put Megatron in his place. 😂
I really enjoy this version, no complaints on my end

My guess would be that it was gangmolded, so there was always a bludgeon and a tarn head produced. They just threw away the one they weren't using.
