@@LukesGarage Hopefully will squeeze out extra 300hp or more with the cam. My motor came out of burn down 2013 Jeep. Still in process getting all parts. I'm leaning a lot from your videos.
This Mopar instruction book, does that come w the harness for the swap? Just trying to decide which setup I’m going run. Leaning toward the Mopar harness
If you did it over would you use the Holley terminator x max for wiring? Also, would it be possible to get a copy of your instructions that have the video numbers and notes?
No I would still use the crate kit. If you are stock and planning to keep it that way then this is the easiest, cheapest, plug n play solution for the engine. The aftermarket ecu does not really come close to reliability and diagnostics etc. etc. So unless you are building something pretty wild in a custom engine don't use anything else. The crate kit also is the easiest to use the 8hp with. So that is just the icing on the cake. Again, for my application. For the instructions, I’ll have to look through and scan them later in the week and email them. Send me your email and I’ll see what I can do.
I see a lot of ppl using the Holley kit. I plan to keep it bone stock. I have a lead on a 392 engine and trans from a 2020 Durango with the wiring. I’ll have a shop install it so I’d prefer the easiest and quickest for $$. UA-cam isn’t allowing me to put my email in a comment.
So for the mopar crate harness kit it had the Star connector already connected. Two connectors. I did connect my trans harness to it. But not sure what exactly your issue is.
Great series Luke. I just have a question. I’m currently doing a gen 3 5.7 hemi swap on my 68 charger. The donor vehicle was a 2016 charger rt. I got the stock engine/transmission, stock harness and ecu, and stock pedal. My question is, do I need to get a new ecu in order to get the engine running? Like a ecu from a stand alone crate engine? Sorry it’s my first time ever attempting a swap
No. The ecu you have will work but it needs to be tuned, you might also need the body harness, I’m not sure. Now who does tunes? Idk. I think there’s a guy called DIYHEMI or sublime hemi swap. He has a UA-cam channel and can help get you going. If you are on Facebook there is a group called G3 hemi swap that I’m a member and it had hundreds of guys who have done the same swap that can guide you. I used the mopar crate stuff cause it was easiest way to go for me.
Here’s the part number: 77072454AI I paid $1,467 for it, but my local dealer didn’t have it. If yours does I would purchase from them. If they charge more then Google the number. It’s about what I paid.
@@LukesGarage im just going by what I read on some of the Gen 3 Hemi Facebook groups. You have to take that with a grain of salt sometimes. Everyones setup is a little different.
No I didn’t. Is it the right one. I got sent two of the same side with my kit. Had to get another. One should be one white and the other black plug I believe. If your using the mopar crate kit. I do remember it was a struggle to get them to plug in. But didn’t have to extend them.
Same size as factory. I had another harness from the donor car that I cut the starter wire off giving me about 2’ to use to splice it. But I thinks it’s 2 gauge wire. Luckily the donor wire still had the eyelet connection on it too.
For Speedo I’m using an app on my phone but I’m ordering a speed hut box that converts gps to cable to drive my factory Speedo. For gear shifter, I’m using the dial shifter out of a Durango or ram 1500, it’s in another video for trans wiring. These trans are electric shift. No cable.
My engine and trans are out of a 2018 challenger scat pack. For your 2023 engine I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. They say it works for crate engines and if you order one it’s considered a 2023. But I would call a dealer and ask. I think our engines are the same so I would think it would work. But a call wouldn’t hurt.
Great video! I'm working on 69 Coronet 6.4 swap with Whipple supercharger
Awesome. How much extra Hp does that super charger add.

Yes it comes with it. You can also get it right off the website too.

Hey Luke what did you do with the star connectors/ can bus strip I’m a little confused with mine.

@@LukesGarage ok so you left the 3rd connector in hooked?
@@FarFromNormalProductions unhooked, I got your messengers.
So did you have to do any trimming off the 8hp70 to fit in the tunnel? Saw your video where you mounted it all up. Seemed like it fit really well.
Yes I did. In part 7 I show what I trimmed off. Not too much but I also see where more could have been trimmed but it fit fine.
@@LukesGarage got it. I'll save that video. 👍

Is the ECU controlling the alternator? I’ve heard mixed answers.
Yes.
I haven’t heard of it not controlling it. Are there guys with Mopar harness that it doesn’t.

Hey man did you connect your ac compressor cant figure out how since the mopar crate harness doesn't come with a connector for the compressor
