Most points in the season. There are 36 races in a season and at the end of each race, every racer is awarded a certain amount of points based on their position. At the end of the season, whoever has the most points wins. Usually it is whoever has the most wins because that normally earns the most points but there were a few rare occasions (2008, 2011 and 2014) where 2 racers tied for number of wins but the win was given based on number of points.

Chick Hicks won the 2005 piston cup, Lightning McQueen didn’t even win the 2011 piston cup as stated in a Cars 2 deleted scene, and Jackson Storm won the 2016 piston cup, not McQueen. This person was either just basing it off their au, or they just got all the information they knew of and just made a video about it.

Most points in the season. There are 36 races in a season and at the end of each race, every racer is awarded a certain amount of points based on their position. At the end of the season, whoever has the most points wins. Usually it is whoever has the most wins because that normally earns the most points but there were a few rare occasions (2008, 2011 and 2014) where 2 racers tied for number of wins but the win was given based on number of points.
