0:05 Dodge Challenger. This is one of the most random things we have seen on the channel!
0:23 Power steering leak, numerous other leaks and a ton of other issues this van had. But it should definitely be taken off of the roads with the condition of the frame etc. "Noticed that he’s replaced one of the idler arms and had to weld it to the frame but in the wrong location causing the tierod to hit the idler bolt. he is about to take a trip to Florida in it as he does every month."
0:44 As mentioned the Dodge Charger had a ton of issues that the customer did not want fixed so the shop refused to do any work as they wanted it fixed properly. Also that is a huge spot cut out of the hood that was also done by the customer.
1:07 1960's Volvo (did not get more info). First time ever seeing this on the channel! This is why it's very important to get an inspection done before purchasing a vehicle, and even try driving it!
1:28 The customer had a back-up alarm that sounds like dog's barking.
1:33 The technician lifted up the vehicle to clean off all of the fuel that leaked out of the jerry can and to see if the customer ran off anything as he thought he might have when he swerved the debris on the road.
1:41 The technician said the smell was so strong he's surprised the customer could not tell where the smell was coming from.
1:50 The customer did not put the dipstick back in hole/dipstick tube, so oil shot out and caused the leak. Easy fix!
    2:05 No extra info.
2:15 The technician thinks that the customer was trying to work on the rear brakes but did not want to admit it in hops to get it covered under warranty or goodwill.
    2:24 No extra info.
2:34 The technician did not mention what made that sound.
2:40 Wrong spot for the cabin air filter!
2:48 Always be careful where you secure/drill to when you're underneath a car.
    2:55 1969 AMC AMX 343ci Automatic transmission.
    3:08 Outro. Thanks for watching!

Husband and I borrowed his mother’s car once years ago when we visited, and the smell of gasoline was so strong we thought there was a fuel leak. When we checked the car over, we discovered two full gas cans in the back. But instead of the locking gas caps, she had the pour spouts on them, covered with aluminum foil. She was worried about running out of gas, while living in a city with gas stations everywhere. She was an educated, intellectually curious woman, but lacked common sense. We gave her a stern talk about safety when we got home, and removed the gas cans at least until she could locate the locking caps for them. My mother worried about the same thing, but dealt with it by always topping up the tank at the halfway point, so I suggested that to her.
She passed away several years later, but from a stroke, not suffocation by gas fumes at least.

After rebuilding, I had a 425hp 425ft/lb beast that once spun a cast iron manhole cover off and sent it a block down the alley. I thought I had broken a leaf spring when the rear end dropped 8". But I was too busy shifting when the mechanical throttle linkage stuck WFO until I could shut off the key. That was one fun car. P.S: The vehicle you referred to as a Javelin was actually an AMX, the shorty sporty model. I love them both dearly.

It scares me that the people who drive these cars in such unroadworthy conditions are happy to do so. And happy to risk their life, their families and the lives of any other stranger on the road at the wrong time!! It may be hated over here but the MOT test is one of the best things about driving on this side of the pond!!

Here in European countries we have the one or two year car check. Here in the Netherlands every year and in Germany every two year. When it is not checked, you get your fine automatically at home.....so when the year is almost over, you get a letter from the Rijksdienst voor Wegverkeer (RDW) a month before the car needs its new check up. When two months after the expire date youd car is not checked at a RDW-recognised check up station, you get your fine. So you know now that almost all cars are very safe here. Good for everybody. The check up station are also checked by surprise (steekproef) and if they cheat, they can loose their points and recognition from the states RDW.......

I'm an auto technician and have had cars with severe safety concerns. There are procedures in place to prevent them from driving the vehicles. They have to sign a waiver saying they know their car is dangerous to be on the road and they aren't allowed to drive it off the lot. It has to be towed or pushed off the lot. after that, its not our concern.

when I was still working car mechanic we had customers coming in regularly for little checkups: fluids, tyres, brakes, exhaust. if something came up they'd come in a few days later to have it fixed. usually done during wheel swicthing.

I went to a garage to get one thing fixed... they came back with 12 things that 'needed' to be fixed _immediately._
I drove away with no repairs conducted, fixed 8 of 12 items myself within 2 days (6 were very minor - filters and the like), had another 3 repaired at other garages not trying to rip me off. 1 item, the *ORIGINAL* issue, was actually misdiagnosed and took a year to finally pin down. Had it repaired in 3 hours.
